Ex FADAN President marks 50 with<br />
Excellence Awards<br />

Former president of the Fashion Designers Association<br />
of Nigeria (FADAN), Prince Idowu Akanni Oyefusi turned<br />
50 recently, and the former president, recently, rolled out<br />
the drums for a bash at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos. It was<br />
a double celebration as the designer fondly called by his<br />
brand name Nobel, used the opportunity presented by his<br />
50th birthday to give back to some distinguished alumni of<br />
his fashion school, Nobelafrik Training and Dressmaking<br />
Academy, who are doing well in their chosen field.<br />
All the awardees were celebrity designers with media<br />
presence. They include; Bayo Adegbe aka Modela, Ugo<br />
Monye, Kola Kuddus and Sola Babatunde who now runs her<br />
own fashion school.<br />
Others who got the award of excellence include loyal and<br />
dedicated members of staff like Kofoworola Odeyemi and<br />
Fehintola Odusina. A posthumous award and a minute<br />
silence was observed in honour of Gabriel Olusola, a<br />
dedicated model and agent who passed on last year.<br />
Making a remark during the event, the celebrant said:<br />
“It’s great to see people grow. It is what gives me joy”.<br />
