The average animal weight in the five units was +proximztely 50 kg at the
time. The slurry was discharged 3 times per day from the drive-out system
and the drain system. System 3 was flushed 6 times per day. The tenrycl’ature
in the four units with the partly slatted floor was set at I7 ‘C and in the unit
with !h;: fully slatted floor at 18 ‘C.
The ir side temperature and the ventilation rate are dependent parameters:
they show a strong positive correlation. Hi& temperatures and venrilation
rates are accompanied with low ammonia concmtrations in the exhaust ventilatior
