data, also in BACnet, will need to be defined
by the respective protocols and data specifications
itself. In BACnet, addendum 135-2016bo
is foreseen for this.
Status of Addenda to BACnet Standard
135-2016
Nine addenda to the BACnet standard are
published and are part of the BACnet standard
135-2016 in protocol revision 1.20 (see table on
page 11, below).
In the meetings, further addenda were approved
for a first or a next public review, of which some
reviews are ongoing, and others will be taking
place later this spring. The status of the addenda
in work is (see table on page 11, top).

public review. This includes new tests for IPv6,
the Network Port object, and a lot of other
additional tests and amendments.
The next interim meeting of the BACnet
Committee will be taking place at the Lutron
Experience Center in Plantation FL from April 9
to April 12, 2019.

introduction of the Belimo Energy Valve. This
control valve continuously optimizes the water
flow, automatically adjusts it to current climatic
conditions and eliminates the so called Delta-T
syndrome. Since its market launch in 2012,
the Belimo Energy Valve has won 20 awards
from industry organizations worldwide. Today,
thousands of these smart valves help to reduce
the operating costs in buildings and CO 2
emissions. Now the third generation of the
Belimo Energy Valve is launched.
Cloud for enhanced comfort
Upon request, the new version can be
connected over the Internet to the Belimo
Cloud. The operation of the valve is then
continuously monitored and compared
against other valves operating under
similar conditions. Customers receive
regular energy reports that include data
on trends, energy, and performance.
Technical support from Belimo can likewise give
customers better and faster advice thanks to the
available data.
Innovative flow measurement
Belimo supplemented the ultrasonic flow
measurement with its patented glycol meter.
Many systems require a mixture of water and
glycol as a heat transfer fluid. The new Belimo
Energy Valve monitors this glycol concentration
and protects the plants against frost.
