said, the customer hears
“No” a lot — “no, we can’t
do that” or “no, you won’t
find that anywhere.”
“Customers feel disrespected,”
she said. “Here
it’s more gentle and we
treat you like family. We
build a relationship with
everybody — bad credit or
good credit.”
The reason that is so important
is because Hawkinson
Kia knows buying a
car is not a simple or inexpensive
decision. It is
important to an individual
or a family and involves
planning and sacrifice.
“We want to encourage
them to buy a car to help
them, not to help us,” Ariel
said.
It’s a long tradition of integrity
started when Robert
R. Hawkinson opened
a Ford dealership in Oak
Lawn in 1961. The current
owners of Hawkinson
Kia, Bob and Jim, trained
at their father’s operation
and today, carry on in the
same tradition in the family
name.
