Pogba tells
teammates he
wants to leave
Paul Pogba has told his Manchester
United teammates that he wants to leave
the 20-time English champions in this
summer’s transfer window.
Pogba’s numbers for United this season are
impressive - scoring 16 times and contributing
11 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old’s form has been inconsistent,
however, and it is widely thought that bids from
Real Madrid and Juventus will arrive in this
summer’s transfer window.
According to L’Equipe, the 2018 World Cup
winner has made it clear to his United
teammates that he wants to seek pastures new
ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign.
Earlier this week, it was claimed that Madrid
were ‘in advanced talks’ to sign Pogba, who has
previously called Los Blancos ‘a dream club’.
The Frenchman’s current deal with United will
expire in the summer of 2021, but the Red Devils
do have the option of an additional 12 months.

Moise Kean has been one of the stand-out players this
season for Serie A champions Juventus and the Turin based
are now working to ensure the striker commits his future to
the Italian side by offering the player an enhanced deal that
will see the teenager’s salary increased four-fold
Kean currently earns 550.000 euro per season and the new
deal would see that increased to 2 million euro per campaign.
Juve club directors Pavel Nedved and Fabio Paratici will

Sarri charged by FA
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been charged
by the FA for his role in a touchline brawl
against Burnley.
It had been alleged that Sarri was called a ‘s***
Italian’ by Burnley coaches during the 2-2 draw on
Monday.
However, the FA has found the former
Napoli Coach guilty of ‘misconduct’ as
he was sent down the tunnel.
The 60-year-old has until 18:00 BST
on Friday to respond to the charge.

Jaqueline Carvalho fainted mid-way
through a live interview.
The former Olympic gold medallist,
35, passed out during a chat in a Brazilian
league game.
Carvalho won gold at both the Beijing
Games in 2008 and London in 2012 with
her native Brazil, but suddenly
collapsed in a recent interview.
During the talk, she can be seen
energetically chatting about the
Superliga game between Sesi Sao
professional outing.
“The debut is a very special
moment,” he said to Fox
Sports.
“It doesn’t bother me being
the ‘son of somebody’.
“I’m Maxim Gullit and
I’m going to work hard to

SWAN commends NFF
over appointment of
members as Media Officers
The President of Sports Writers
Association of Nigeria (SWAN),
Honour Sirawoo has commended the
Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football
Federation for appointing members of the
association as media officers of various
national football teams.
Recognising the gesture as the first time
in the history of the association to have
such numbers, Sirawoo stressed that the
NFF has further deepened SWAN’s
determined efforts to ensure that only
licensed sports journalists are saddled with
such responsibilities.
Among those appointed are Pius Ayinor
(Super Eagles B), Sharif Abdallah (Olympic
Eagles) and Andrew Randa (Flying Eagles).
Others include Cecilia Omorogbe
(Falconets), Francis Achi (Golden Eaglets),
Faith Meremegbunam (Flamingos) and
Tobi Adepoju (U15 National Boys-Future
Eagles).
Retained are Toyin Ibitoye (Super Eagles)
and Jane Nweze (Super Falcons)
Sirawoo expressed joy that the untiring
efforts of SWAN under his leadership were
paying desired dividends, adding that the
association will continue to explore more
partnership for members’ benefit.

Lionel Messi reached another career
milestone in Vitoria on Tuesday
night, celebrating victory with Barcelona in
his 100th match as team
captain. Messi started the game on the bench
and took to the pitch when Barça had already
gone 0-2 up, coming on to replace Ousmane
Dembélé on 61 minutes and was immediately
handed the skipper’s armband by Sergio
Busquets.
Messi first captained Barça in the Week 29
meeting with Celta de Vigo in on 30 March
2013, because Carles Puyol was out injured.
