JAMO | INTERVIEW FA: How did you get into acting? When did you know you wanted to work in entertainment? JH: I knew so clearly I was going to live this life since I was 10. I was obsessed with making this vision true. It really hit me the first time I walked on stage and felt my heart open and i felt like I was on the perfect path and at the right place right time. I saw a sort of vision of my future in the sense that I knew this feeling of creativity, joy, alignment was what I wanted to chase. At first, I thought it was becoming an actor but as my dreams steadily came true, I realized that the acting was just an excuse to find that feeling of being alive/connected to my creative flow/life-force. FA: Shadowhunters have this incredibly passionate fandom. What has being a part of this series meant to you? JH: It has meant the world. It has given me so much and continues to. It has taught me so much. It has shown me love and connection with people all around the world who have so much talent and love to give. I am so happy to be part of such a giant legacy and community I am honored to embody this character for them. FA: You’ve been a part of this show since season one. Has there been anything about your character’s journey that’s surprised you? JH: Absolutely. I feel like a lot of his actions were not consistent. One moment he was an ally to the Shadowhunters and the next an enemy. But I guess that reflects his half-angel half-demon nature. I feel like he also fazed out and became more of the pawn to the Queen than I wanted him to be. However... things are changing! You’ll have to wait and see! FA: Which of his relationships would you say is your favorite to explore and why? JH: The Meliorn - Jace relationship. Because there is a hilarious weird love/hate between them, they like each other but are too proud to admit it, and that was one of my favorite things to see was their dynamic. Would be fun to have it again. And of course, I want to experience some sort of Meliorn/Izzy resolution. We shall see! FA: You’ve been a part of the cast since season one. With this being the final season, is there a moment, either on or off-set, that sticks out to you? JH: So many I don’t have enough finger strength to type it all. There are so many fun moments between all of us. We have spent many hours and different experiences together. A lot of laughter and a lot of fun activities.
