FA: Tell us about the Haunting
of Sharon Tate?
LH: The Haunting of Sharon Tate is based on
an interview that Sharon gave to Fate magazine
a year prior to her death where she admitted
to having an eerie, nightmarish premonition of
her murder. We all worked extremely hard in
a short period of time, and put a lot of love, effort,
and care into portraying these people and
telling this story. It’s a very character driven
film. And, I appreciate how the director, Daniel
Farrands, explored the deeper narratives and
relationships between everyone who was in the
home and the family and murders are a secondary
storyline. Though the film classifies as
‘horror,’ that is merely due to the fact that the
events that occurred were so horrific; the film
itself is both psychological and spiritual dealing
with the question of fate and whether or not we
have the power to alter the course of our destiny.
And while watching you have to wonder, is Sharon
being haunted, or is she herself the ghost?
FA: How was your experience working a lot
with Hillary Duff and Jonathan Bennett?
LH: Working with Hilary, in particular, was so
incredibly wonderful. She is such a lovely person,
the scenes where our characters bonded
were some of the most fun and natural to film.
And Jonathan, he’s so nice and charismatic.
I love that he and I are friends, he’s amazing!
FA: What can fans expect your character?
LH: To be Abigail Folger, the job was partly
anthropological. Having the opportunity
to portray someone who is real, and a to tell
story like this is a truly humbling experience.
I did my best and due diligence in learning all
that I could about Abigail Folger and those
in the home at the time in order to respectfully
portray the person I was hired to play.
FA: What acting projects can we expect
to see from you in the future?
LH: Between Worlds just came out on Netflix.
It is a dark, psychological thriller where
I play Mary, the wife of Nicolas Cage. Mary
died tragically in a fire, but instead of moving
on, Mary cannot let go of her former life and
in turn, possesses a young woman’s body. She
is determined to settle her unfinished business
with the living. Z Nation Season 5 also
just came out on Netflix. I love this show and
was a huge fan prior to joining the cast. I play
Pandora, who is this season’s villain, and a
key player in the Z Nation universe. Pandora
was a fun and challenging role, she’s a Talker
(a zombie who has maintained her human
consciousness), and is a bit of a boarder-line/
sociopathic personality who was built to survive
and thrive in the apocalypse. Every single
day was a new adventure, and I think fans will
be happy with how this season plays out and
the series comes to an end. Grace and Grit out
later this year is based on the best-selling true
story is a one of courage, connection, and love
beyond life And, I am currently preparing to
film two independent features this summer.
