core elements that are characterising the lifestyle of Canggu’s
visitors. This upcoming trend of a healthier way of living,
seemingly has a significant effect on the businesses of the area.
There is a wide range of options at the menus that one can find,
the majority of which include vegetarian and vegan friendly
options (Nika, 2018).
INCREASING CREATIVE ECONOMY
As it was mentioned above, especially at the area of Berawa,
many expats and new entrepreneurs are attracted by the
opportunities and the environment that the area has to offer. The
concept of creative economy includes: designers, bloggers, bikini
models, photographers and and digital nomads (Thurman, 2019).
There are many reasons as to why this trend is flourishing in the
area of Canggu. First of all, there are many co-working places
providing a suitable environment to concentrate and work.
Additionally, there are many great food options, as well as, easy
access to the rest of the island. Moreover, there are plenty of
options regarding accommodations, restaurants, and tourism -
oriented businesses ranging from budget friendly options to
luxuriousness (LocalNomads, 2018).
NIGHTLIFE
The area of Canggu is also very popular for nightlife. Every day of
the week there is a specific place that has a special event. Owed to
the research conducted there are some rules regarding the time that
these party places have to close, and none of them are allowed to
stay open after midnight (Old Man’s, 2019). However, in order to
avoid the tight regulations and noise pollution, many establishments
are investing on soundproof material fences (Crate Café, 2019).
Moreover, it is worth to mention that the Canggu area is home to
the only underground club, in all of Indonesia.
