In the duration of the research process, it was identified that the
primary markets that are present in Canggu, represent a mix of
nationalities and age groups that are visiting the area. The two areas of
Canggu, namely Berawa and Batu Bolong, experience different markets
visiting the area. Whereas the Batu Bolong market could be described
as, ‘party-hipsters’, backpackers and surfers, the Berawa market exists
mainly out of expats, sophisticated crowd and families. However,
according to Indonesian Tapas & Bar, it is difficult to see the differences

With concerns to nationalities, the main market is Australia.
Nevertheless, the interviewees notice an extensive amount of
Europeans and domestic travellers as well. As the owner of Old Man’s
said: “Our target Market is everyone. DIfferent days we attract different
people. “ - Old Man’s. Vault underground club gave however a little bit
more detail: “There are people coming from all around the world. If we
could estimate, 80% are international and 20% domestic tourists” -

Moreover, the variety of the target markets it is also including the type
of tourists. So, as it was multiple times mentioned, there are many
young people (individuals and couples), as well as families that are
coming in Canggu.
