S-G Owners Association. All residents are welcome to use the amenities at all locations. To sign up for Stone Gate amenities, residents of Canyon
Lakes West and/or Miramesa must go to the Recreation Center at Stone Gate and show them a copy of their driver’s license to show proof of
residency and then they can register there. The two recreation centers are on different computer systems and in order to use the Stone Gate

A little rain in the forecast was not going to stop us from having an “EGG”-cellent time at our Annual EGGSTRAVAGANZA! We greeted over 400 children

and/or locations are subject to change. We will hold Executive Session/
Homeowner Hearings first (closed session-not open to homeowners
unless you are having a hearing) at 5 PM. The meetings will then be opened
up to the residents starting at 6 PM. Once the Open Session Business has
been completed, the Board will open Homeowner Forum. The Board is
trying to make sure we are getting as much business completed in these
meetings as possible in the allotted times, as the POA is billed for the
hours the Attorney is present, over 2 hours for the Management Company
and any overtime for the on-site staff to stay and have the building open.

Residents, Please be advised that the locations for the Board Meeting
rotation schedule have changed. The meetings will alternate between
the Stone Gate Clubhouse located at 11655 Canyon Green Dr. Houston,
TX 77095 and the Canyon Lakes West Clubhouse located at 19722 Stanton
Lake Dr. Cypress, TX 77433. The Board will no longer be meeting at the
Miramesa Clubhouse located at 20150 Miramesa Dr. Cypress, TX 77433. The
Miramesa Clubhouse has been removed from the rotation schedule. Please
see the updated Board Meeting schedule and locations below: The Board
will meet in the closed Executive Session at 5 PM and owners are welcome
to attend the open session starting at 6 PM. If you would like to attend the
meetings to address the Board of Directors or just observe the meeting
proceedings, please send an email to the onsite management team at
stonegaterec@att.net. Please be sure to include your property address
and any questions or concerns that you may have for the Board Members

Please Do Not Feed Ducks And Geese
Spring is the air and this lovely weather has many of us visiting our
community parks and ponds. It can be tempting to feed the ducks as geese
as many of us have grown up thinking that this was an environmentally
responsible and humane way to dispose of old or stale bread. However,
feeding ducks and geese is actually unhealthy and potentially dangerous
for the birds. This seemingly generous act, in fact, can be extremely
harmful.Bread and similar products such as crackers, chips, doughnuts
and popcorn have little nutritional value. Without healthy food and proper
nutrition the ducks and geese will quickly succumb to disease and death.
Feeding ducks and geese can lead to the following problems as well:
• Duckling malnutrition - in areas where ducks are regularly fed bread
the ducklings will not receive adequate nutrition for proper growth and
development.
• Overcrowding - Where food is easy to come by, ducks and other waterfowl
will lay more eggs and the pond or lake will become overcrowded. This
makes it more difficult for the birds to seek out healthier food sources
and increases territorial aggression, especially during mating season. It
will also cause ducks to cross busy streets in search of food.
• Pollution - What happens to all that bread that is not eaten? It causes
algae growths, pollution and can eventually eradicate fish and other life
in the vicinity.
• Diseases - A diet rich in carbohydrates leads to greater fecal production
and bird feces easily harbors bacteria responsible for numerous diseases
including avian botulism.
• Attraction of pests - Rotting leftover food attracts other unwelcome
pests such as rats, mice and insects. These pests can also harbor
additional diseases that can be dangerous to humans.
• If you care about ducks and geese, do not feed them. They can live
longer, healthier lives by relying on natural food sources such as aquatic
plants, seeds, grasses and insects rather than taking handouts from willmeaning
humans. Now that you know, you can help by not feeding the
ducks and geese and by educating other duck lovers.

GOLF COURSE Safety
Please be aware of the safety hazards involved in trespassing onto
the Sterling Country Club and Houston National cart paths and golf
course. The cart paths on both courses are only for golfers that have
registered through our Pro Shop. Cart paths are a means for players
to complete their round of golf as quickly, conveniently and safely as
possible. As the Stone Gate community continues to grow we feel
it is our responsibility to educate every resident as best we can to
keep pedestrians and their pets safe and away from the cart paths.
Golf balls are often hit at speeds over 150 mph and can have deadly
consequences to a human or pet if hit in the head, throat or chest. Because
the paths are for registered golfers, those playing golf are not aware of the
presence of pedestrians on the course, which can lead to very damaging
collisions with hikers/bikers and their pets. This January I fielded a report
of a pedestrian being struck by a golf ball and other reports of residents
having near miss encounters with golf carts when traveling along the
paths. Hiking, jogging, biking, dog walking, golf cart/ATV’s not being
used to play golf, skateboarding and skating on the cart paths is
strictly prohibited anywhere on the golf course because of safety
hazard and trespassing concerns. Thanks for your cooperation!

77095 - This location has an onsite office, clubhouse, swimming pool,
playground, basketball court, tennis court and fitness center. *This
section is gated so you will need to register for access, please refer to the
information below for “Gate Access” for how to register.
Stone Gate Splash Pad located at 9901 Red Rugosa Dr. Houston, TX 77095
- This location has a splash pad, swimming pool, playground and tennis
courts. *This section is non-gated so no additional gate access is needed.
Canyon Lakes West Clubhouse located at 19722 Stanton Lake Dr.
Cypress, TX 77433 - This location has an onsite office, clubhouse,
swimming pool, playground and fitness center. *This section is gated so
you will need to register for access, please refer to the information below
for “Gate Access” for how to register.
Canyon Lakes West The Grove located at 20526 Morrison Grove Dr.
Cypress, TX 77433 - This location has a swimming pool, splash pad,
fitness center, playground and a 1/2 court basketball court *This section
is non-gated so no additional gate access is needed.
Miramesa Clubhouse located at 20150 Miramesa Dr. Cypress, TX 77433
- This location has an onsite office, clubhouse, swimming pool, splash
pad, playground, dog park, tennis court, sand volleyball court and fitness
center. *This section is non-gated so no additional gate access is needed.
Amenities: To register for access to the amenities, please bring your
settlement statement (HUD), utility bill and driver license to one of the
onsite offices at Stone Gate, Miramesa or Canyon Lakes West (addresses
listed above). The onsite team will scan your fingerprint into the system

which allows access to all the amenities at Canyon Lakes West &
Miramesa. There is no fee to register. You only need to register at one
location not both. You can purchase an access card for $5 each (max of 4
per household - check or money order only) that will grant you access to
all the amenities on the Stone Gate side.
Gate Access: To register for gate access please bring your driver license,
vehicle registration and EZ tag information to the onsite office. Only
vehicles registered to a home in the community will be entered into the
EZ Tags system for the specific section that your home is located, access
to the other sections is permitted by card access upon request. There
is no charge to use your EZ Tag on the community gates. You can also
obtain a sticker for your vehicle at one of the onsite offices to gain quick
access at the two sections where there is a gate attendant, please use the
visitor lane and the gate attendant will notice your community sticker
and open the gate automatically. You can purchase a vehicle tag for the
EZ lane for $25 (check or money order only) at one of the onsite offices.

any concerns about gates malfunctioning or suspicious activity in the
community.

Residents with a Registered EZ Tag: • Enter through far right lane.
• Gate Attendant will open the gate in the event that the EZ Tag barrier
arm does not read your EZ Tag. You can contact the Gate Attendant by
pressing #0001 on the call box at all remote gates. Please register your
EZ Tag at your clubhouse office. The Onsite Manager will assign your EZ
Tag to the entrance gate in accordance with the section you reside in (you
will not have access to all gates, only the one for the section you live in).
Residents with an “SG” Decal Sticker (must be displayed on top left corner
of windshield): • Enter through middle lane at the man gated sections. Gate
House check-in NOT Required. (Gate Attendant will open gate) If you need
an “SG” decal sticker, please visit your local clubhouse office.
Residents without an “SG” Decal Sticker: • Enter through far-left lane at
the man gated sections. Gate House check-in is required.• The Gate House
Attendant will require your valid Texas Driver’s License or Texas State ID to
verify residency. • Gate Attendant will record name and license plate. If you
are new to the community, show your current Valid Driver’s License or State
Issued Photo ID and give the Gate Attendant your new Stone Gate/Canyon
Lakes West address. Gate Attendant will also record name and license plate.
Visitors: • Enter through far-left lane at the man gated sections. Gate
House check-in is required. The Gate House Attendant will require you to
present a valid Driver’s License or State ID • Identify name and address
of Resident whom you are visiting • Gate Attendant will record name and
license plate and you will be given entry * If the Resident has opted to be
notified by phone before Visitors are granted entry, Visitors will only be
granted entry if the resident answers and confirms entry
Homeowners at remote gates can have a phone number programmed
so that their name and a code will be displayed on the screen at their
gate. Their guest will press # and the code to ring the homeowner. The
homeowner will press “9” on their phone to open the gate
Contractors: Enter through far-left lane at the man gated sections. Gate
House check-in is required. The Gate House Attendant will record the
following information:
1. Name and address of service provider as well as personnel (valid
driver’s license or state ID)
2. Reason for visit
3. License Plate
If the Resident has opted to be notified by phone before Contractors are
granted entry, Contractors will only be granted entry if the resident answers
and confirms access. Access for contractors is issued on a day-to-day basis
(must follow above procedures for all re-entry) Contractors at remote gates
must contact the homeowner using the same process as a guest.

• A $300 Security/ Deposit is required to reserve the clubhouse/facility
• Reservations may be made no less than 30 days prior to event and no
more than 90 days in advance.
CLUBHOUSE:
• Occupancy Limit is 60 persons. (Per fire code) • Facility closes at 11 PM.
• Resident must be present during entire rental period. • No smoking is
permitted inside the Facility • No glitter, confetti, silly string, inks, glue,
powder, etc. or products that could stain or damage any surfaces. No
piñatas, no petting zoos, trackless trains or bouncers. • No alcohol is
permitted. *Exception: Alcohol permitted with one (1) law enforcement
officer (UAS/Top Gun) The deposit for alcohol is $450. Four (4) hour
minimum required at special event rate (Subject to change). Failure to
comply will allow the Association to close the event. • Resident must
supply trash bags and take trash home.
ROVING PATROL
Attention Stone Gate Residents, As a friendly reminder, please be advised
that the Association has changed to a NEW service provider for the Gate
Attendant and Roving Patrol services for the community. Effective today,
the NEW service provider is Priority Protection & Investigations (PPI). We
are excited to partner with Professional Protection and Investigations
(PPI) and look forward to improving the level of services provided to
the community. Please see the below summary for the Roving Patrol
services that are provided and other helpful information; Roving Patrol:
The primary function of a Roving Patrol service is to assist with crime
deterrence by staying highly visible while conducting routine patrols
throughout the community to observe and report suspicious activity to
the local authorities and/or association.
The Patrol Officers also assist with service calls within the community.
Some of the typical calls received are as follows:
• Noise disturbances • Suspicious persons, vehicles or activities
• Welfare checks • Property Damage • Solicitors in gated communities
• Courtesy checks of your home (only if there are not any signs of forced
entry present)
While the officers do their best to handle most situations, sometimes
Police assistance is necessary to properly handle the situation. The
Roving Patrol Officers are not Law Enforcement and do not have the
authority to arrest or detain unless, in the rare occasion, they are
conducting a citizen’s arrest. This means that if the Roving Patrol Officers
are called out to investigate a suspicious person and make contact with
the individual, they cannot hold them for questioning if the subject fails
to comply with the request to identify themselves and/or state their
business. At that point the Officers will contact the Police for assistance
if it is necessary. If the subject flees from the Patrol Officer, they are not
permitted to give chase whether on foot or in a vehicle.
There are times were the officers are called in situations where the Police/
Fire/EMS needs to be the primary responders and called first. Some of
these types of situations are as follows:
• Speeding vehicles/reckless driving
• Crimes that are potentially violent in nature
• Domestic disturbances
• Fire, flood or blood
• Vehicle accidents
• Medical emergencies
The Roving Patrol Officers may be called by residents for any of the
situations listed above, but it is important that the local authorities are
contacted first to ensure the proper response to the situation has been
provided. The Roving Patrol Officers may then take direction from these
authorities and respond accordingly in correlation with policy for the
current situation at hand.

The Board of Trustees approved a recommendation for 38 CFISD
campuses to be open for student transfers for the 2019-2020 school year,
with student transfer forms made available online and at campuses
beginning April 1 st . The following campuses were approved for a limited
number of student transfers for the 2019-2020 school year:

Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, Cypress Creek, Cypress Falls, Cypress Park, Cypress
Ranch, Cypress Springs and Langham Creek.
MIDDLE SCHOOL:
Campbell, Goodson, Hopper, Kahla and Labay.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:
Adam andre’, Bane, Copeland, Danish, Duryea, Farney, Frazier, Gleason,
Hairgrove, Hoover (grades PK-2), Jowell (grades 3-5), Keith, Kirk, Lamkin,
Lee, Metcalf, Moore, Reed, Rennell, Sampson, Tipps, Walker, Wells and
Willbern.
A student who is currently enrolled and attending a CFISD campus may
apply for an Open Transfer Request for the 2019-2020 school year. The
Office of Student Services/Admissions will accept transfer requests from
April 1 st through June 3 rd . Transfer requests will be processed on a firstcome,
first-served basis. For questions or assistance, please contact the

ATHLETIC PHYSICAL DATES UPCOMING
FOR 2019-2020 STUDENT ATHLETES
CFISD has scheduled its annual athletic physical examinations for the
2019-2020 school year at every district high school for incoming high
school students as well as sixth- and seventh-grade middle school
students. Physical forms must be completed in advance and turned in
along with payment at the respective high schools. Updated physical
forms, along with other pertinent 2018-2019 athletic information, are
available on the athletics page of the district website.
Examination cost will be $20 per student (cash or money order only). All
current and incoming high school students enrolled in CFISD schools

KPRC Senior Scholarship
Cypress Ranch High School senior Nishat Nabi was one of the Houston-area high
school students selected to receive a KPRC Senior Scholarship, sponsored by
Texas Mattress Makers. Throughout the spring semester, KPRC representatives
traveled to various high schools in greater Houston to surprise students with $2,500
scholarships to a college of their choice. Morning anchor Owen Conflenti surprised
Nabi during the senior’s calculus class and presented her with a scholarship
March 29 th . The giveaway aired during the KPRC morning news on April 3 rd . Nabi
was nominated by the Cypress Ranch counseling team’s scholarship committee
featuring Coordinating Counselor Dede Cash, Counselor Lindsey Housson and
College and Career Specialist Kimberly Marks. “She has faced a lot of adversity in
her life and she’s overcome that adversity and showed leadership,” Cash said of
Habi. “So not only did she overcome it but she came out on top. She challenges
herself, she dedicates herself and she volunteers herself. She’s the whole package. Everything that she does is what we would want Cy-Ranch to
be represented by.” Nabi and her family moved to the United States from Bangladesh, where she made the adjustment to making new friends after
leaving many behind. She spends countless hours volunteering through her involvement with National Honor Society, Student Council and Key
Club at Cypress Ranch. Nabi also serves as a mentor to younger students.Nabi, who plans to study economics in college, is the second KPRC Senior
Scholarship CFISD winner this year.

One of the largest non-celebrity tournaments in the Houston area, the
B.F. Adam Golf Classic is a prime example of our trustees and community
business partners working together to raise scholarship funds for
students of Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Our first tournament raised $3,500
and over the past 30 years the B. F. Adam Golf Classic has successfully
raised almost $3.5M.
CFEF was established in 1970 as a non-profit to raise money to fund
scholarships for high school graduates. Through the generosity of the
Cy-Fair community and commitment from the Board of Trustees, the
Foundation has grown tremendously with scholarship awards totaling
more than $8.5M to graduating seniors from Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. CFEF
is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, all contributions are tax deductible,

Vacation Bible School is for all children ages 3 years old (must be pottytrained)

ST. AIDAN’S SETS SUMMER VBS
Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about Vacation Bible School
again and the folks at St. Aidan’s have another great program planned.
Scheduled for the week of July 8 th -12 th , St. Aidan’s usually hosts about 80
children. This year’s theme is ROAR: Life is wild. God is Good. We usually
have Bahama Bucks on the last day. That is always a big treat for our
students. And, last year, we hosted Wild Things Zoofari. They brought
a wallaby, a toucan, a lemur and a hedgehog. Everyone really enjoyed
that.” Cost of VBS is $30. Scholarships are available for families in-need.
New for this year, we are adding Triumph Sports so our students will
have a full-day option. From 12-4 PM, Triumph will run a Bible-based
sports camp. Participants will play dodgeball, kickball, capture the flag,
basketball, soccer and more. Early registration for this afternoon session
is $105 before June 1 st . After June 1 st , cost goes up to $115. Registration

SPRING BREAK/SUMMER CAMPS
CAMP CORNERSTONE IS THE PLACE TO BE THIS SUMMER
FOR AGES 2 THROUGH COMPLETION OF 4TH GRADE!
Camp Cornerstone is a week-long camp sponsored by Cornerstone United
Methodist Church and is for children ages 2 through the completion of 4 th
grade. Children must be 2 by June 1, 2019. Camp hours are 9:30 AM-1
PM. There are 3 sessions throughout the summer and you are invited to
participate in any or all!
Session I: “Stars & Stripes” is June 17 th -21 st , Session II: “Around
the World” is July 15 th -19 th , Session III: “Outer Space” is August
5 th -9 th . The cost per camp per child is $125 and is due at the time of
registration. To download a form from the Cornerstone website, go to
www.cornerstoneumc.org and click on “Ministries” and then select
“Preschool.” You will see a tab for Camp Cornerstone. Print the form and
have it filled out before you arrive, saving yourself time! Before each
camp session begins, you will hear from your child’s teacher so you can
learn more about the camp and they will answer questions about the
week-long fun. Each day your child will bring a backpack and a lunch
as they enjoy each other and the special things they will do during the
week. We look forward to having your child at camp this summer! It’s a
great time for everyone and you don’t want to miss any of it! Registration

SUMMER CAMPS AT EPIPHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH & SCHOOL
Registration is now underway for our Summer Camps. We offer a variety
of 5 different mini-day camps for children ages 3 years (must be potty
trained) through entering 1st grade. These fun camps keep your younger
kids very busy while reinforcing concepts that they have learned in school!
All camps are filled with age appropriate learning disguised as fun!
This year our camps are themed after the youth’s favorite Disney movies!
All camps are Tuesday through Thursday, 9 AM-2 PM. We will also offer a
50 minute dance class on Tuesday’s from 2-2:50 PM weekly for those who
may want a little extra time! On week 1, we learn It’s A Small World After
All! On week 2, we are getting ready for some Monster Mayhem! Week 3
is for all our little STEM-tastic learners as we head into Wreck It/Race It
week. Week 4 we will beat the heat with some island style fun with water.
Our 5 th camp is going to be, shall we say, INCREDIBLE…as we end the
summer with a super hero theme.
Each camp is $100 and includes a daily snack. Campers will bring a
peanut-free lunch daily. All camps include science, math, art, movement,
music and creative play with both indoor and outdoor activities. A
minimum payment of $25 is required at the time of registration to hold
your child’s spot with the balance being paid no later than the first day of
camp. We will not hold camps on the week of July 4 th or the week of July

Meadows Community serves girls in the residence areas for the elementary schools listed below, as well as the corresponding middle and high

Here are just a few activities that we have done within
the community recently: In December, we hosted a
community Holiday event for Girl Scouts and moms of all
levels. During the event we had lots of activities involving
the moms and daughters of which included making pet
toys to donate to a local animal shelter.
Cadette troop 113035 went to Special Pals on Saturday
4/9/19 and donated the hand-made pet toys along with
some of the wish list items from their organization and
a case of Girl Scout cookies for the hard workers and
volunteers! In February our community celebrated World
Thinking Day to promote changing the world for the better
and to celebrate being part of the global sisterhood that
is Girl Scouts. Our troops have also volunteered their time
and troop funds for community needs, participated in a
self-defense workshop, numerous badge work at both
troop and regional level, STEM activities, enjoyed the Girl
Scout camp properties and much more.

BOY SCOUT TROOP 609
Boy Scout Troop 609 is a specialized for Boys with high functioning
Autism Spectrum Disorders. They meet at the Westview School on the 1 st
and 3 rd Saturday of the month from 9:30-11:30 AM.
BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA - COPPERHEAD DISTRICT
For 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found
in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Today, these values are just as relevant
in helping youth grow to their full potential as they were in 1910. Scouting
helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership
skills, outdoor skills and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.
The Boy Scouts of America provides youth with programs and activities
that allow them to:
• Try new things.
• Provide service to others.
• Build self-confidence.
• Reinforce ethical standards.
Scouting provides youth with a sense that they are important as
individuals while promoting activities that lead to personal responsibility
and high self-esteem. As a result, when hard decisions have to be made,
peer pressure can be resisted and the right choices can be made.
Scouting provides a rewarding experience for boys ages 5 to 21. Scouting
through the local Packs and Troops teach outdoor and life skills which help
our youth Be Prepared. Your area is serviced by the BSA Sam Houston Area
Counsel - Copperhead District which includes 23 Cub Scout Packs (boys 5
to 10 years old), 13 Troops (boys from 11 to 18 years old) and 10 Venturing
units (boys and girls from 14 to 21). Our Units typically meet weekly.
Many of our units are supported by the local Elementary Schools
including: Birkes, Copeland, Duryea, Fiest, Hemmingway, Holmsley,
Horne, Jowell, Lowery, Metcalf, Owens, Postma, Robinson, Sheridan,
Tipps, Walker and Wilson.
Other Community groups include: Autumn Creek Baptist Church,
Beck and Masten Automotive, Cornerstone United Methodist Church,
Copperfield Church, Crossbridge Church, Cy-Fair Kiwanis Club, Deerfield

Flag Day Celebration - June 15, 2019, 6-8 PM
The Cy-Fair community is encouraged to come out and join our local
scouts to learn all about the history of Flag Day in the US. Observe while
the scouts perform the retirement of Old glory by properly disposing of
the US flags. This event is jointly sponsored by Lowery Pack 1445 and
Langham Creek Ace Hardware.
We encourage all Copperhead District Packs, Troops and Ship units to
come and participate. We also welcome all Eagle Scouts, local military
veterans, both active and retired, to come join in the festivities. We will
honor all of our heroes, as well as first responders from the police and
Cy-Fair fire department. This patriotic event promises to be filled with
excitement for the young and old. We will have local entertainment,

Recipes & Gardening Tips
You could make this on National Apple Pie Day May 13th!
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons cold milk
1 1/2 teaspoons white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
6 Fuji apples, cored and sliced
3/4 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
To Make Crust: In a large bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, oil, milk,
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar and salt until evenly blended. Pat mixture into
a 9 inch pie pan, spreading the dough evenly over the bottom and up
sides. Crimp edges of the dough around the perimeter.
To Make Filling: Mix together 3/4 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons flour,
cinnamon and nutmeg. Sprinkle over apples and toss to coat. Spread
evenly in unbaked pie shell.
To Make Topping: Using a pastry cutter, mix together 1/2 cup flour, 1/2
cup sugar and butter until evenly distributed and crumbly in texture.
Sprinkle over apples.
Put pie in the oven on a cookie sheet to catch the juices that may spill
over. Bake 45 minutes.

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
3 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 (8 ounce) tub frozen whipped topping, thawed
3 cups frozen blueberries
DIRECTIONS:
In a medium bowl, stir together the graham cracker crumbs and 3
tablespoons of sugar. Mix in the melted butter. Sprinkle evenly into
the bottom of a 9 inch square baking dish and pack down into a
solid crust.
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with 1 cup of sugar until smooth.
Stir in salt and lemon juice. Fold in the whipped topping until well
blended, then fold in the frozen blueberries. Spoon over the crust
in the baking dish and spread evenly. Cover with plastic wrap and
refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing into squares and serving.

Warm weather means our gardens and landscapes are growing fast.
Here are some tasks to keep your landscape beautiful and productive:
Flowers: Time to plant summer blooming perennials and annuals
including plumbago, zinnias, angelonia, purslane, lobularia,
sunflowers, yellow bells, pride of Barbados, duranta and bat-faced
cuphea.
Vegetables: May is a great time to plant, from seed or nursery plants,
okra, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, winter squash, pumpkins, basil,
peppers, lima beans, eggplant, garlic chives and Malabar greens. If
you don’t want to dedicate an area of your yard, consider planting
here and there in your flowerbeds. Edible landscaping is a popular
new trend!
Lawns: Water 1/2 to 1” of irrigation per week. A rain gauge or straight
sided container (such as a tuna fish can) will help you know how long
to run your irrigation system to apply 1/2”.
Weeding: Hand pull or hoe weeds while they are still young or better
yet, maintain a 3” layer of mulch in all vegetable and flowerbeds to
deter weeds from getting a start.
Pruning: Remove spent blooms on spring and summer annuals to
promote new blooms.
Fertilizing: Fertilize flowerbeds and vegetable gardens w/slow release
organic fertilizer.
Water: Deep soakings between rain events is better than frequent
light sprinkling.
Birds: Spring migration continues until mid-May. Clean bird feeders!
Replace water in bird baths to avoid creating mosquito breeding
spots.
