<strong>forecourttech</strong> Editors note As we move forward with ‘forecourt online’ we are receiving requests to publish articles such as ‘Applying artificial intelligence to historical and live data’, ‘Unlocking Big Data & handling volatility’, ‘Retail fuel price optimisation’ ‘Next generation pricing systems’, as well as ‘Technologies driving economic transformations and disruption’, ‘Data transfer methodologies’, ‘Optimisation and relevant solutions’, ‘Forecourt Security – Cameras that can think & understand for themselves’. So it seems there is a great deal of information on a number of topics that our readers are looking for and we are open to companies prepared to submit articles on any of the above topics for publication. In the meantime we are working hard towards <strong>forecourttech</strong> – our conference and meetings convention taking place in Alicante, Spain on the 14 & 15 October. Once again we have the support of the International Forecourt Standards Forum (IFSF) and their new Chair, Heather Price, will be our conference moderator. A primary objective of IFSF is to facilitate and encourage technology standards in the fuel retail sector both for the backcourt and forecourt. Heather Price recently commented: “Our industry is going through a period of great change, with new alternative fuels and new players in the fuel retailing sector such as new large dealer groups and with the advent of electric vehicles, car parking organisations. “There is also a growing expectation that more and more things can be achieved on a mobile phone or directly through a smart hub in a connected car. Our consumers are demanding more and new ways to pay and collect their loyalty points, and simpler and more streamlined transactions whether they are buying conventional liquid fuel, alternative cleaner fuels, carwash, coffee, groceries or all of the above. Consequently with more and more applications being located on virtual platforms in the cloud, there are many more technology service providers working in this space.
