today. Alam mo baang may power
ka? Yes, you! You have the power!
Nope, please don’t smell your
armpits, that’s a different power. I
am talking about a certain power
that we usually disregard. A power
that we do not use. And for some, a
power that they do not know they
have.
Ano ang power na ito? The Holy
Spirit.
I am excited on how our series will
empower us to our calling, equip us
with our daily struggles, comfort
us in times of our needs and bring
us closer in having an intimate
relationship with God.
So get ready, for we are going
to bless the world, whatever it
takes! Power up and get ready to
assemble!

Holy Gospel: John 14:6-14
We are just pilgrims here on earth. Ang buhay natin dito
ay rehearsal lang ng mangyayari sa atin sa buhay na
walang hanggan. At darating ang takdang panahon, we
will have to face our Creator.
Father Joel said that we have to aim to be good people. He
encouraged us to follow Jesus, and be Jesus to somebody.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Therefore, let us
live our lives the way He wants us to.

Life is like a marathon.
Pwede kang madapa,
pwede kang mawala, pwede
kang mapagod, at maryoon
mauuna sa’yo.
Pero you have to press on,
and set your eyes on the

King David also had a fair
share of struggles, yet he
pressed on. Through his
story, you can learn to:
1. Never look down on
yourself. David was
forgotten by his own father.
People may forget you,
treat you less, or look down

on you, but the Lord will
never do. He sees your
worth and that is enough.
2. Don’t stop at your
giants. David fought and
won over Goliath with full
trust in the Lord. So, win
your battles with the Lord.
3. Rise up from every
mistake. David committed
adultery and murder, but
He did not settle there.
He rose up and started
all over again. Sa buhay
nagkakamali ka, pero ‘wag
mong gawing identity ang
pagkakamali mo. Ito ay
lesson. Matuto ka na at
bumangon ka!

Fresh grad ka man o 10 years ka nang
graduate, know that it’s your turn! It’s
your turn to make your dreams come
true!
Thousands of years ago, a man of God
also graduated. From being Moses’
apprentice, Joshua led the Israel to the
promised land.
Ang pangarap sa puso mo ay ang iyong
“promised land.” God never said that
it will be easy, but He said that He’ll be
with you always. (Joshua 1:9)
With Joshua’s story, we can learn 4
things:
1. Be positive. Before Joshua became a
leader, he was one of the spies Moses
sent to see the promised land. Most of
the spies were discouraged, but Joshua
was founded to his faith in God. Kaya
sana, ikaw rin!
2. Overcome obstacle. Para makarating
ang Israelites sa promised land,
kailangan nilang tawirin ang Jordan
river. They felt stuck, pero God made
it possible for them to cross the river.
Stuck ka ba sa situation mo? Trust
that God can get you through!
3. Break Down Walls. Inutusan ng
Diyos si Joshua na sakupin ang
lahat ng madadaanan nilang lupain.
Therefore, they broke down walls
para sa promised land. You have to
persevere, too just like them!
4. Build Bridges. The Gideonites
deceived the Israelites para hindi
sila patayin. Noong nalaman ito nina
Joshua, instead of killing them, he
built bridges. Ganoon din sa panahon
ngayon. Build relationships, find
connections and be generous!

Sa dulo ng lahat ng ito, hindi naman
mahalaga kung gaano karami ang pera
mo. Mas mahalaga pa rin kung gaano
karami ang mga taong natulungan mo.

More Than A Three-Letter Promise
The CPA Journey of Rellie H. Sernero, CPA

“Sige nga, Lord, kung totoo
Ka, ipasa Mo ‘ko sa subject
na ‘to,” Rellie challenged God
during one Feast session.
God showed out when Rellie
got a grade of 2.50, higher
than the 3.0 he asked for.
God must be real, he thought.
Rellie Sernero, a 26 year-old
Certified Public Accountant,
got hired as the Assistant
Chief Accountant of the
University of the East (UE)-
Caloocan when he was only
24 years old. He is a worship
leader and the head of the
Youth Missions at The Feast
SM Manila. He is also taking
up his Master’s Degree in
Business Administration.
Behind his impressive
credentials are the scars he
bears and the wisdom he
gained from the battles for
his faith, dreams and God’s
promises.
His CPA journey started in
UE-Manila, but he had to
transfer to another school
to continue taking up
Accountancy because he
failed the comprehensive
exam. He continued his
education in UE-Caloocan.
He had to take one subject
multiple times before he
earned his bachelor’s degree
one semester later than he
was supposed to.
Rellie was very positive as he
reviewed for the July 2014
CPA Board Examination. He
was an active servant in the
campus ministry and The
Feast Manila when he was
in college, and he continued
to serve God even after. He
regularly asked St. Jude
Thaddeus’ intercession, and
as he prayed harder, he knew
God wouldn’t let him down.
But He did.
He asked God, “Why, Lord?
I’ve been through a lot for
this one shot! Why do You
keep ignoring my prayers?”
He felt so down and so weak,
and thought that maybe it
wasn’t God’s plan for him.
Three months before the
next scheduled CPA Board
Examination, he decided to
try again.
He motivated himself,
“Paano kung parating na ang
surprise Niya sa buhay ko
ngayong taon?”
He fought for the coveted
title for the second time,
surrendered to God and
held on to the promise he
was sure that God had for
him. On October 2014, Rellie
became a Certified Public
Accountant.
The plot twist was, if he did
not get a very high grade
(approximately 95-97) on
the subject that he took
multiple times, he would
not have made it. God used
his previous failures for this
victory. Rellie realized that
had he gotten his way, he
would have relied on his own
strength and have forgotten
that everything is grace.
He is confident that God has
already planned everything
out for his good. So even
when he fails, he knows that
God’s plans won’t. In any
case, God never did.
