Standish Probus
The Standish Probus Club welcome new members
to their meetings, held on the second Tuesday of
every month. Meetings begin at 10am at St. Marie’s
Church Hall on Almond Brook Road, Standish.
Retired or semi-retired professionals are warmly
invited to the monthly talks. June sees Boyd Harris
present an interesting lecture ahead of the annual
summer lunch in July at a local venue.

Computer Course
A beginners’ computer course starts this June at
Shevington Library.
If you’d like to learn basic computer skills, the course
could be ideal for you. It runs every Wednesday
from June 5th until June 26th, 9:15am-11:15am.

Apprentice Reunion
Ex-apprentices of the Pemberton Triangle Valve
Apprentice School intake of 1969 are invited to
attend a 50th anniversary reunion event.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 20 at
the Fishergate Pub on Orrell Road, Orrell, at 8pm.
Expect fine beers and a bit of karaoke – for more
