Chill & Chat
Daffodils Dreams CIC have launched their new
social group to help engage members of the
community with their work.
The charity helps provide opportunities and
essentials for children in need around Wigan, or
those going through difficult circumstances. New
volunteers are always welcome – and their Chill &
Chat sessions are a great way to learn more about
what Daffodils Dreams do.
Everyone is welcome to go along for some free
refreshments – including delicious Dilly Daffs cakes
– listen to music, and play some games. The next
sessions take place three Fridays per month – the
next is on May 31, then June 7 from 9am-2:30pm at
St. James Centre on Church Street, Poolstock.
Open Gardens
Wigan and Leigh Hospice in Hindley is opening its
gardens to the public in July.
Featuring vibrant flowerbeds, three beautiful ponds
and a Chinese bridge which was donated by the
Whitworth Art Gallery, the gardens offer a tranquil
spot to relax and take a breather. Visit the Dedicate
a Daisy memorial garden to reflect and enjoy the
wildlife, and get to know a bit more about what the
hospice does in the local community.
The gardens are open on Sunday, July 14 from
10am-4pm, with an entry fee of £3. Refreshments
will be available to purchase on the day.
ASDA Friends
The ASDA Wigan Friendship Group meets every
month for a cuppa and a chat.
Looking to meet new people? The group could
be just the ticket. Bring your knitting along, read
a book or engage in a game of dominoes on the
first Tuesday of the month at the café at ASDA in
Newtown. Sessions run from 10am-12pm and are a
great opportunity to meet new people in the area!

Manager Wanted
Local Life is an established publisher producing four print magazines each month.
Our small and friendly team works Monday-Friday at our offices in Orrell.
This full-time position would suit an experienced graphic
designer with strong organisational skills.
Salary negotiable depending on experience
