Learning About
NEW
History in a
WAY
Some of best selling games of 2018 were
games with historical influences inside
them.
Makes learning history fun. The reason why is the
games have fun gameplay and stories mixed with
history elements teaching you something that you
may have never known going into it. From my
experiences with games like these, I had been able to
learn from those games and use that information in
my social studies class becoming a useful asset for
me.
The Misconceptions of video games. Some people
think that all video games make you stupid and are a
waste of time. Except they haven't even played all of
them but are just making it up so they could create
controversy. Most games have some elements that you
can learn from making you a little bit smarter in the
process.
It’s not going to teach you everything. Even though
you have learned much from these games they won’t
teach you everything. You will still need to pay
attention in class and try your best you should be
able to balance that out so you can be successful at
school and be able to play video games and learn
from them.

The rating systems in video games and
are they a problem to consumers?
The main aspect of the rating system is to regulate the gaming
content a consumer is allowed to buy legally if they meet the
age requirements to play that game. The meaning of the rating
goes like this, eC stand for early childhood like if there is no
offensive content and is safe for toddlers and growing little
minds, E which stand for everyone you can catch my drift, E
10+ is like the same but the content is a little bit more extreme
for the younger people, T that stands for teen when the content
is graphic as in blood, and mild language, etc, next is a big titan
when it comes to a games rating M when we get in to the gore,
intense language, partial nudity and more many games have
been cursed by this rating, the next rating is for adults only and
I can’t explain why who reasons I don’t want to say, and the
final rating if you could call it that is RP rating pending it is being
in the process of rating .
This is where the problem starts we will be going back all
the way before the rating systems existence. 1994
Nintendo has added a new game to the SNES called
Mortal kombat it included Blood (only if you turn on a
cheat code), gore, and revealing outfits for some of the
characters. Parents were outraged with this and decided
to found the organization called ESRB. They are the
reason the video games ratings are around. The
problem is that some games do not deserve the rating
the ESRB gives it. Because of the ESRB rating the
game M or Ao even if the game does not present any of
these elements.
