Ever since we were young boys, we
have had an interest in sports and video
games. We would always beg our dads to
play basketball with us, toss a baseball or
football out in the yard, or play the newest
video game with us. Now that we are older,
we would like to share our sports and
video game knowledge with the world, and
we will start through this magazine.
Instead of playing basketball as children,
we are making articles about the
childhoods of well known NBA superstars
(LeBron James: Rising to the Top, pg. 4,
and Journey to the Top, pg. 18). Instead of
throwing a baseball, we are giving advice
to children about which bat to use (Top
Five Bats for the Coming Season, pg. 12).
And instead of goofing around with our
friends playing video games, we are
writing about ESL video games that kids
and adults all around the world are
playing (Call of Duty 2019, pg. 25). While
this will never replace having these
experiences, we hope that we can inspire
people throughout the nation to get
involved in things like these.

LeBron James is one of the
most well-known basketball
players of the NBA. He has 32,311
points on his career and is known
by many as one of the greatest
basketball players of all time.
But it took a lot of work to get
there, and LeBron’s childhood
didn’t make it any easier for him.
Gloria James
Gloria James is LeBron
James’s mother. She was born
on February 4, 1968, and grew
up in Akron, Ohio. She gave birth
to LeBron at age 16. Her mother,
who was helping her raise
LeBron at the time, died of a
heart attack on Christmas day
when Gloria was only 19. Gloria
couldn’t afford to pay for their
house without her mom, so she
moved out and started living in a
friend’s apartment. It was all
downhill from there.

A Tough Childhood
LeBron James was born on
December 30, 1984, to Gloria
James. He moved just as many
times as his mother did,
including seven times in one year
alone. He lived with a foster
family for a few elementary
school years and skipped school
often. He almost never saw his
father, who was in jail for drug
dealing. He and his mother moved
in with a football coach when he
was eight, and LeBron moved in
with another coach by himself a
little while later.
Where He is Today
Even though LeBron had a
tough upbringing, his life ended
up being a major success. He was
drafted into the NBA out of high
school by Cleveland Cavaliers. He
averages 27.1 points, 8.6
rebounds, and 8 assists per
game this season, numbers that
most NBA players dream about.
His net worth is about $440
million, and he owns three
different mansions. With
endorsements, LeBron got
$85.3 million last season.
LeBron James faced many
challenges in his childhood, but
he overcame them all in the end.
He has had a very successful life
and is known all across the
country as one of the greatest
basketball players ever to walk
the face of the Earth.

Started From the

bottom, Kyrie Irving started
in Australia, he was always
into high school musicals
and he was a nerd, he was
really never into sports.
According to Bleacher
Report, “Irving was wearing
an untucked school
uniform that was two sizes
too big. He had on a
mismatched vest over his
button-up that was rolled
up to his elbows, and on his
left wrist were two separate
G-Shock watches.” After an
interview with him and all
of his teammates, they all
will tell you that he never
liked sports until 12th
grade. After 12th grade,
Kyrie was determined, he
wrote “I will get to the NBA”
in his closet and looked at
it every time he opened his
closet.

Lebron?
Kyrie Irving never
wanted Lebron James to
come back to the
cavaliers. After Lebron
left the cavs, kyrie had all
the spot light for himself
and loved it because he
could be MVP almost
every game that the cavs
won. According to
Complex “LeBron said
something to Kyrie on the
court following a game
when he was with Miami,
something to the effect of,
'Keep going. Keep doing
what you're doing. You
never know. I could be
back here one day,' or
something like that. And
Kyrie went in the locker
room and basically said,
'We don't need that. What's
he talking about? We don't
need that guy.” Even his
teammates were surprised
when they heard wim say
that they didn't want
Lebron back on the cavs,
and when he did, kyrie
requested a trade from
the cavs.

Being
Inspirational
Kyrie never wouldn't have
made it if he didn't have any
inspirations and now he is the
one giving out inspirations. He
truly believes that the way he
made it to the NBA was
because of all his inspirations,
without them, he could have
never made a living off of
basketball. The Seattle Times
says that kyrie Irving's most
recent speech was““Listen to
your parents,” Irving told
them, but not in a preachy
way, rather the way an older
brother would tell his siblings.
“Make sure you cherish the
friendships you have and
family is first — always.”
Reporters say that kids after
hearing this speech have been
inspired to go out and make a
difference and try out sports
like basketball themselves.

Infinity Ward
Infinity Ward is an American
video game developer
company. They are the
original creators of the COD
series. They didn't start
trading off with Treyarch until
2006 and it wasn't until
2011 that sledgehammer was
released into the rotation.
Infinity Wards most popular
series is the Modern Warfare
games. There are 3 so far but
many are speculating that
there is a fourth coming soon.

Modern Warfare 4 Leaked?
There have been many rumors
about what the 2019 Call of Duty
will be but many of them
speculate that it will be a new
Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare
4. There are some other leaks
stating that it could be a COD
Ghosts 2 or another Infinite
warfare but people are mostly
going for the Modern Warfare
rumor.
Since Call of Duty
4, the original
Modern Warfare,
every addition in
the Call of Duty
series has got into
the top 40 best
selling video
games of all time.
The highest
ranking addition
to the list is
2009's Call of
Duty: Modern
Warfare 2,
claiming the 9th
spot with total
sales of 28.5
million.

Leaks
Many leaks claim that COD
2019 will be Modern Warfare 4.
Other leaks claim that there will
be another COD Ghosts or
another Infinite War but those
are unlikely with all the evidence
behind the MW4 leak. On one of
the voice actor’s bio on Twitter,
he put all the games that he has
voiced for. Included in that list is
Modern Warfare 1, 2, 3, and 4.
This also means that the player
he has voiced for in the other
Modern Warfares might be
returning to the new and
improved, MW4. Also, there is
an inside leaker claiming that
they are working on Modern
Warfare 4. Many people have
found that Infinity workers from
the Modern Warfare series have
gone back to work at Infinity
Ward.

Reliable Leaks?
Most of the leaks you will find
about COD 2019 will most likely
be true if they have an actual
name behind the leak. As a voice
actor, Lee Ross, has leaked
information, it is most likely true.
He is one of the key roles behind
this to add the little chat between
characters when they get hurt or
in the dialogue in the campaign.
His leak is definitely reliable. The
other one, maybe not as much.
The person behind it has been
known for leaking games but he
has been wrong some and right
some. But with many leaks
coming from different people
about Modern Warfare 4, we can
highly assume that's what it is
going to be.

More Games to Come?
Many more Call of Duty games is
to come with how well they have
done. Black Ops 4 made 500
million USD on the day it
launched. We won’t be surprised
if 2019’s Call of Duty is a big hit
too. WWII having sold 10 million
copies within a week, there will
surely be more Call of Duty
games to come.

Call of Duty franchise

Call of Duty WWII earned 500 million USD in the
first 3 days of the release. This one one of the
many games in this franchise that has been very
successful within it first couple days of
release.
Call of Duty Black Ops 2 earned 500 million USD
in the first week. This was another one of their
games that was very successful within days of
launch. This game is still some fan favorites to
this day, even though it came out in 2012.
The 2018 Call of Duty World League prize pool
was 4.2 million USD. This was one of their
highest prizes for the champion team at the
ESports competitions. 2017’s season for the
Call of Duty World league only had a $700,000
prize pool.
The call of Duty series has about 100 million
players worldwide. That is enough people to fill
half of The United States of America! There are
many people who enjoy the Call of Duty series
globally. There is a team from almost every
country.
In 2016 there were 250 million copies of Call of
Duty games sold. This is another statistic
showing how popular the Call of Duty series is
as it continues to grow.
