Four students from Orland Park<br />

earn places on deans’ list<br />

Bradley University recently congratulated<br />

nearly 900 students who<br />

received their academic degrees in<br />

May.<br />

Clemson University<br />

President’s list recognizes Orland<br />

Park student<br />

Matthea J. Wong, of Orland<br />

Park, has been named to the president’s<br />

list at Clemson University.<br />

Wong, whose major is biological<br />

sciences, made the president’s list<br />

for the spring 2019 semester.<br />

To be named to the president’s<br />

list, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all<br />

University of Findlay<br />

Dean’s list celebrates Orland Park<br />

student<br />

Olivia Rydzewski, of Orland<br />

Park, was named to the spring 2019<br />

dean’s list at the University of Findlay.<br />

To earn this achievement, a student<br />

must attain a grade point average<br />

of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.<br />

University of Iowa<br />

Student from Orland Park among<br />

those on president’s list<br />

Michael Leyden, a University<br />

of Iowa student from Orland<br />

Park, studying in the College of<br />

Engineering, was named to UI’s<br />

president’s list for the spring 2019<br />

semester.<br />

The UI established the president’s<br />

list in the fall of 1983 to<br />

recognize academic excellence. In<br />

order to be included on the list, a<br />

student must have a minimum grade<br />

point average of 4.0 (4.0 is a “A”<br />

grade) in all academic subjects for<br />

the preceding two semesters, with a<br />

total of at least 12 semester hours of<br />

credit per semester during that period.<br />

More than 600 UI students were<br />

named to the president’s list for the<br />

spring 2019 semester.<br />

University of Mississippi<br />

Orland Parker earns degree<br />

Amanda Jadallah, of Orland<br />

Park, graduated with a Bachelor of<br />

Science from the University of Mississippi<br />

on May 11, 2019, at the university’s<br />

166th commencement.<br />

University of Rhode Island<br />

Student from Orland Park among<br />

those named to dean’s list<br />

The University of Rhode Island is<br />

recently announced the spring 2019<br />

dean’s list. The students on it represent<br />

nearly all of Rhode Island’s cities<br />

and towns, all six New England<br />

states, New York and New Jersey,<br />

and many other states and countries.<br />

To be included on the dean’s list,<br />

full-time students must have completed<br />

12 or more credits for letter<br />

grades during a semester and<br />

achieved at least a 3.30 quality<br />

point average. Part-time students<br />

qualify with the accumulation of<br />

12 or more credits for letter grades<br />

earning at least a 3.30 quality point<br />

average.<br />

Caroline Kruszecki, of Orland<br />

Park, was among those named to the<br />

dean’s list.<br />

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater<br />

Three from Orland Park named to<br />

dean’s list<br />

The following students from Orland<br />

Park were named to the University<br />

of Wisconsin-Whitewater<br />

dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester:<br />

Ryan Frencl, Graham<br />

Hevel and Tonie Wasco.<br />

These students have demonstrated<br />

their academic abilities by receiving<br />

a grade point average of 3.4<br />

or above in a single semester.<br />

West Virginia School of Osteopathic<br />

Medicine<br />

Orland Parker earns degree<br />

Anna Malysz Oyola recently<br />

graduated from the West Virginia<br />

School of Osteopathic Medicine<br />

with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine<br />

degree.<br />

While at WVSOM, Dr. Oyola received<br />

a Polish-American Medical<br />

Society of Chicago Academic Fund<br />

Scholarship, a Kosciuszko Foundation<br />

Tuition Scholarship and a<br />

WVSOM Student Government Association<br />

Leadership Scholarship.<br />

She served as vice president of the<br />

Class of 2019.<br />

Oyola earned a bachelor’s degree<br />

in neuroscience from Augustana<br />

College in Rock Island in 2013.<br />

She is a 2009 graduate of Sandburg<br />

High School.<br />

Oyola is the daughter of Renata<br />

and Jerzy Malysz, of Orland Park.<br />

She is married to Mario G. Oyola<br />

Ortiz.<br />

She plans to enter a general surgery<br />

residency at New Hanover Regional<br />

Medical Center in Wilmington,<br />

North Carolina.<br />

Worcester Polytechnic Institute<br />

Student from Orland Park earns<br />

place on dean’s list<br />

Worcester Polytechnic Institute<br />

recently announced that Matthew<br />

LeMay, of Orland Park — a<br />

member of the class of 2019 majoring<br />

in robotics engineering and<br />

computer science — was named to<br />

the university’s dean’s list for academic<br />

excellence for the fall 2018<br />

semester.<br />

A total of 1,595 undergraduate<br />

students achieved the criteria required<br />

for WPI’s fall 2018 dean’s<br />

list. The criteria for the WPI dean’s<br />

list differs from that of most other<br />

universities, as WPI does not compute<br />

a grade point average. Instead,<br />

WPI defines the dean’s list by the<br />

amount of work completed at the A<br />

level in courses and projects.<br />
