As our charity continues to grow, our need for volunteers in our fundraising team and also our
expanding chain of charity shops grows. Whether it is helping out at any of our events, running your
own events or getting out and about talking to your friends and community about our appeal, doing
your bit can be very rewarding. It is not only about rattling a tin - but this is just as important!.
Please help us in any way you can to turn our vision of your Hospice into a Reality.

Become a Trustee
Charity trustees play a very important role in
making sure that the charity is run in the
interests of the people it is there to support.
They strategically oversee the management
and administration of the organisation.
Being a trustee can be very rewarding. As a
trustee you have the chance to support and
shape the work and strategic direction of an
organisation, and you can make a significant
difference to a cause that matters to you. As a
trustee, you are part of a team and will have
the opportunity to apply your unique skills and
experience while learning from others. Working
closely with a passionate team of people who
have different perspectives is often one of the
most enjoyable aspects of the role.

Retail Volunteer
Our shops are an important part of our
infrastructure which we are building upon to
enable us to run the hospice once it is built.
The income from the shops along with
donations, legacies and other funding avenues
will enable Margaret Chadd House to offer its
services free to all.
If you like interacting with the general public
and have time to give, why not pop in to one
our shops and have a chat with the manager
about volunteering. Any time you can spare,
whether it is a few hours or a whole day, will
help and most certainly be appreciated.
Fundraising & Events Volunteer
It’s not just about rattling tins at
supermarkets! Being a fundraising and
events volunteer means that you get to meet
all sorts of people in all walks of life. You
could be cheering on teams at events,
having pies thrown in your face,
manning stalls, organising your own
fundraising events to name but a few.
If you are an organised
person and have a circle of
like-minded friends, why
not get together and create
a fundraising group in your
community? This could be
anything from a weekly
Bridge Club, Coffee Morning, Bake
Sale...you could become an ambassador for
East Coast Hospice.
