The Polynesian Spa’s geothermal mineral<br />
waters are sourced from two natural springs.<br />
The slightly acidic Priest Spring waters relieve<br />
aches and pains while the alkaline waters of<br />
the Rachel Spring nourish skin. Both the Pavilion<br />
Pools and the Deluxe Lake Spa has both these<br />
waters. The main difference between the two<br />
bathing areas comes down to the landscaping.<br />
The Deluxe Lake Spa has 4 organic, freeformshaped<br />
pools surrounded by rocks and native<br />
plants and 1 modern hard-edged pool.<br />
All these pools have views of the lake and sit<br />
under the dappled light of Pohutukawa trees.<br />
One of the pools (pictured right) has an arching<br />
rock grotto with intimate seating nooks.<br />
If you get too hot there is an icy cold plunge<br />
pool for hot/cold hydrotherapy (if you are<br />
game enough to do this?).<br />
