DO YOU WANT TO TAKE UNIVERSITY CLASSES NOW? CSUDH Open University is an easy way for anyone to participate in regular university classes at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Registration is easy - formal admission at CSUDH is not required. Each class you take through Open University at CSUDH may apply toward your future degree while you enhance your professional skills and explore your personal interests. High School students who will have completed their junior year by June may register with the written support of their principal or counselor accompanying their registration form and fees.

Credit/No Credit Option<br />

(Undergraduate Students Only)<br />

Undergraduate students selecting the<br />

Credit/No Credit option must do so by the<br />

end of the third week of instruction, Sept. 12,<br />

<strong>2019</strong>. Credit/No Credit forms are available<br />

from the Extension Office, the Office of<br />

Records & Registration, and Information<br />

and Service Center, and must be submitted<br />

by the deadline. For additional conditions or<br />

limitations of the Credit/No Credit option,<br />

consult the current CSUDH catalog at:<br />

ADD or DROP Classes<br />

1. Complete the ADD/DROP information on<br />

the Change of Program form, available<br />

from the College of Extended &<br />

International Education Registration<br />

Office EE 1100, in the Extended<br />

Education Complex. Use the schedule<br />

number (5 numbers), department name<br />

(3 letters), course number (3 numbers)<br />

and section number (2 numbers).<br />

2. If adding, have the instructor sign the<br />

form.<br />

3. If dropping, enter the information in the<br />

DROP position of the card. Instructor’s<br />

signature is not required before end of<br />

third week.<br />

4. Return the Change of Program form to<br />

the Extended Education Office.<br />

5. Present your receipt and I.D. card.<br />

6. Conditions for dropping a course after<br />

the third week are outlined in the current<br />

CSUDH Catalog.<br />

A student who enrolls in a course, discontinues<br />

attendance, and does not officially drop the<br />

course will automatically receive a “WU” (calculated<br />

as “F” in G.P.A.) or “F” grade for the<br />

course, which is permanently recorded. Students<br />

are responsible for submitting completed drop or<br />

withdrawal forms to the designated offices.<br />

Course Numbering System<br />

The course numbering system for the <strong>University</strong> is<br />

based upon three-digit numbers as follows:<br />

000-099 Sub-collegiate courses, not for<br />

baccalaureate credit<br />

100-199 Lower division courses, normally taken<br />

in the freshman year<br />

200-299 Lower division courses, normally taken<br />

in the sophomore year<br />

300-399 Upper division courses, normally taken<br />

in the junior year<br />

400-499 Upper division courses, normally taken<br />

in the senior year<br />

500-599 Graduate courses, normally limited<br />

to graduate students<br />

Use of the I.D. Card<br />

The I.D. Card must be carried at all times and<br />

be validated each term. A current I.D. Card<br />

is necessary to perform certain transactions<br />

in Admissions, Records and Registration, the<br />

Library, the Business Office and other campus<br />

offices. I.D. cards for <strong>Open</strong> <strong>University</strong> students<br />

will be issued at the Extended Education<br />

Office.<br />

Disabled Student Services<br />

Students with verified disabilities, which are<br />

permanent or temporary (e.g., broken bones,<br />

strained back, other sprains, etc.) are eligible<br />

for a variety of support services from the<br />

Disabled Student Services Office. Information<br />

regarding special facilities and services<br />

available to students with a disability may be<br />

obtained from the Director of Disabled Student<br />

Services Office, located in Welch Hall, Room<br />

B-250, (310) 243-3660 (voice) or 243-2028<br />

(TDD).<br />

Office Hours for College of Extended &<br />

International Education<br />

The College of Extended & International<br />

Education Registration Office is located in<br />

the Extended Education Complex, EE 1100,<br />

on the west side of the campus just south<br />

of Victoria Street. The College of Extended<br />

Education is open from 8am-8pm, Monday<br />

through Thursday; 8am-5pm on Friday and<br />

from 8am-1:30pm on Saturday. The telephone<br />

number is (310) 243-3741.<br />

Parking<br />

Parking permits are required for on-campus<br />

classes. They are available from the yellow<br />

machines at the entrance of each parking lot<br />

for $8.00 per day. A parking permit good for<br />

the semester may be purchased for $155.00<br />

from the Cashier’s Office.<br />

Library Services<br />

Student identifications cards--available at<br />

the Extended Education Office--will entitle you<br />

to full use of the Cain Education Resources<br />

Center.<br />
