Organized in 1893, The Walther League<br />

was named after C. F. W. Walther, a founder<br />

and first President <strong>of</strong> The <strong>Lutheran</strong> <strong>Church</strong>—<br />

Missouri Synod, and was an auxiliary youth<br />

organization <strong>of</strong> the Synod. The League was<br />

active at <strong>Trinity</strong> involving youth from freshman<br />

in high school to age 24, meeting monthly<br />

for the purpose <strong>of</strong> worship, education, service,<br />

recreation and fellowship in a Christian<br />

atmosphere. The League continued until 1977<br />

when it was succeeded by a new organization,<br />

<strong>Lutheran</strong> Youth Fellowship (LYF).
