SOUTHCHURCH PARK BOWLS CLUB
Southchurch Park Bowling Club
has been proudly based at one of
the best parks in Southend since
it was formed in 1931 and is keen
to support the Southend Council
initiative for local sports clubs to
work with the wider community.
We are able offer taster bowls
sessions for those groups who
wish to visit the park assisted by
qualified club coaches. We have
steps to gain access to the bowls,
but are currently unable to
accommodate wheelchairs users.
Although the bowling green
has remained unchanged
since 1931, the original club
pavilion is still in use and has
been complemented by a
second smaller pavilion that
was recently taken over and
refurbished by the club and is
used as the refreshment facility.
Our aspiration is to work closely
with the local community,
including schools etc. We also
look to establish if the club
facilities that currently are
unused during the winter can be
made available to community
groups. For now, the latter
remains a longer term goal, but
we would welcome enquiries to
establish the need and potential
take up.

BEYOND CARING GROUP
For People that have been looking after somebody
that have either gone into care or are no longer
with us, so are feeling isolated and lonely.
The group meets on the first Tuesday of the month,
once a month. 10am-12pm at Clarence Road Baptist
Church. For a chat, coffee and biscuit.
