Tick-Bits Magazine July-Oct 2019

Saturday morning we had the AGM, a lovely lunch at the Hotel, then we went and had a photo
shoot (a great photo of all the cars in front of the Lake), this was followed by a drive around the
area where we ended up on a cruise on the Waikato River to the Huka Falls – this was fantastic!
It was then back to the Suncourt Hotel where we relaxed till we headed off out for dinner. We then
had raffles drawn and prizes given for best car etc… this was followed with entertainment by an
awesome band! All in all a great day and night.
Sunday we headed off for a lovely drive around the lake and ended up in a beautiful bay where we
were provided with a BBQ lunch. Thank you to those who organised this as it was a neat way to
finish the AGM weekend!
We said our good-byes to everyone and headed back to the Suncourt Hotel. We ended up
meeting at the restaurant along with a few from Wellington and had a lovely dinner – a relaxing
time catching up.
We left Taupo early Monday morning and headed back to Wellington – along the way we
managed to get an amazing photo shoot of our three cars in front of a very clear Mt Ruapehu!
Just stunning! We then stopped at Waiouru Army Museum for a morning tea. Then it was a
stop at Levin for a late lunch.
We stayed again at Wellington for the night – having a great meal at Lone Star and lots of laughs.
It was then off early the next morning, had a good sailing to Picton, then a smooth drive back to
Christchurch. We all had a fantastic weekend!! Thank you to all of those who organised this great
weekend!
