I was raised on a Dairy Farm and have been a Dairy Farmer all my life.
In 1960 I married my wife Barbara and we had two children Trixie and Graham. In 1987 Barbara
was diagnosed with Terminal Cancer and passed away just before Christmas that year.
From mid 1950 till 1970 I had a passion for circuit Racing Power Boats racing all over the upper
and mid North Island and with my last boat powered by a hot 327 Chev Corvette motor was timed
at 92 miles per hour over a measured Kilometre , just 2 miles per hour short of the New Zealand
Unlimited Racing Runabout Record.
In the Winter Months I played Rugby Union giving it up at age 47.
During my boat racing years I compiled a comprehensive Workshop where I assembled and
installed motors in the boats and built the trailers.
After racing it was Water Skiing a great sport enjoyed by all my family and friends for many years.
Then it was Cars.
The first Ford Dad bought was a 1947 half ton Pick Up Truck commonly known as a Ford Jailbar.
This Truck has been in our family since it was new and I am in the process of doing a complete
restoration of it.
The first Car was a 1952 Ford Custom , commonly known as a Ford Twin Spinner Then a
procession of Ford Falcons
XM , XR , XW , XA , XD , an XY Ute and an XA Ute , EA 26 , AU 2 Fairmont V8 , BF 2 XR8 ,
FG GT , R Spec GT , GTF , 2016 Mustang GT , 2018 Mustang GT.
I currently own the GTF and the 2018 Mustang GT.
I have been a member of the Club for nine and a half years and enjoy the friendly attitude of all the
