The Tinley Park Bobcats<br />
are weighing the<br />
village down in baseball<br />
trophies and plaques this<br />
summer.<br />
The second-year Tinley<br />
Park Bobcats 11U Black<br />
travel baseball team competed<br />
in the West Suburban<br />
Baseball League going<br />
13-3 and winning its<br />
division. The team participated<br />
in tournaments in<br />
Midlothian, Tinley Park,<br />
Lockport, Wheaton in Illinois<br />
as well as St. John<br />
and Crown Point in Indiana.<br />
The Bobcats captured<br />
championships in Lockport<br />
and Wheaton and<br />
sported a 25-13-3 record<br />
through 41 games. It<br />
earned a bid to a national<br />
tournament in St. Louis.<br />
The 10U Bobcats were<br />
undefeated champions<br />
in the Midwest Baseball<br />
Tournament in Michigan<br />
City. The team put up<br />
92 runs in five games to<br />
clinch the victory.<br />
The 8U Bobcats were<br />
Chase A. Niemeier Memorial<br />
Tournament champions<br />
with Blake Mikos,<br />
Carter Jusishi and Carter<br />
Wolf leading the way. In<br />
a 2-1 win over the Palos<br />
Thunder, Greg Les singled<br />
in Mohamen for a<br />
walk-off win. James Musial<br />
fired two shutout innings.<br />
The 13U Bobcats took<br />
second in the Fight For<br />
Diabetes Tournament at<br />
the Diamond Point Complex<br />
in Bourbonnais to<br />
finish 31-18-1.<br />

Sure, July 4 has its share<br />
of fireworks, but for Tinley<br />
Park-based baseball teams,<br />
the end of June was pretty<br />
noisy.<br />
The Tinley Park Bulldogs<br />
8U team finished its<br />
season winning its fifth<br />
tournament of the season<br />
in five tourneys that it entered.<br />
They beat St. John 7-3<br />
to win over Orland Park<br />
Warriors Battle in the Park<br />
Tournament. Earlier in the<br />
month, thewon the Lombard<br />
Midwest Slugfest<br />
by beating the Elmhurst<br />
Crush, 16-12, in the championship<br />
game.<br />
The Bulldogs also beat<br />
the Bobcats, 2-0, in a<br />
crosstown championship<br />
game on June 24 at Gary<br />
Grohovena Field.<br />
The 13U Bobcats beat<br />
the Bulldogs, 5-3, at Andrew’s<br />
field.<br />
The 13U Bobcats also<br />
played the Challengers in<br />
a game in June. The Challengers<br />
roster is comprised<br />
of special needs athletes<br />
from the south suburbs.<br />
The Bobcats’ 13U squad won a pair of championships<br />
earlier this summer.<br />
