tournament of the season with a victory in Orland Park.
June ends with a
bang for area teams

Bobcat teams keep bringing home some big prizes

more awards?
The Tinley Park Bobcats
are weighing the
village down in baseball
trophies and plaques this
summer.
The second-year Tinley
Park Bobcats 11U Black
travel baseball team competed
in the West Suburban
Baseball League going
13-3 and winning its
division. The team participated
in tournaments in
Midlothian, Tinley Park,
Lockport, Wheaton in Illinois
as well as St. John
and Crown Point in Indiana.
The Bobcats captured
championships in Lockport
and Wheaton and
sported a 25-13-3 record
through 41 games. It
earned a bid to a national
tournament in St. Louis.
The 10U Bobcats were
undefeated champions
in the Midwest Baseball
Tournament in Michigan
City. The team put up
92 runs in five games to
clinch the victory.
The 8U Bobcats were
Chase A. Niemeier Memorial
Tournament champions
with Blake Mikos,
Carter Jusishi and Carter
Wolf leading the way. In
a 2-1 win over the Palos
Thunder, Greg Les singled
in Mohamen for a
walk-off win. James Musial
fired two shutout innings.
The 13U Bobcats took
second in the Fight For
Diabetes Tournament at
the Diamond Point Complex
in Bourbonnais to
finish 31-18-1.

Michael Hultman, Anthony
Sexton,, Marino
Digangi, Jack LoConte,
Joey O’Brien, Mark Flisk,
Johnny Arvanetes and Michael
Gaik.

and Jim Flisk.

Sure, July 4 has its share
of fireworks, but for Tinley
Park-based baseball teams,
the end of June was pretty
noisy.
The Tinley Park Bulldogs
8U team finished its
season winning its fifth
tournament of the season
in five tourneys that it entered.
They beat St. John 7-3
to win over Orland Park
Warriors Battle in the Park
Tournament. Earlier in the
month, thewon the Lombard
Midwest Slugfest
by beating the Elmhurst
Crush, 16-12, in the championship
game.
The Bulldogs also beat
the Bobcats, 2-0, in a
crosstown championship
game on June 24 at Gary
Grohovena Field.
The 13U Bobcats beat
the Bulldogs, 5-3, at Andrew’s
field.
The 13U Bobcats also
played the Challengers in
a game in June. The Challengers
roster is comprised
of special needs athletes
from the south suburbs.
The Bobcats’ 13U squad won a pair of championships
earlier this summer.
