PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
CHAD MYERS
VOLUNTEERING MAKES A DIFFERENCE
As president of the MPMCA, I just want to take a moment and
thank everyone for your dedication and continued support of the
MPMCA and its local chapters. This industry and those around us
would be much worse off if it weren’t for the countless hours spent
by volunteers donating their time and resources.
I would like to thank all of you that volunteer your time and
resources to help make this a wonderful organization; without
you none of this would be possible. I also want to thank those
that volunteer their time outside of this organization to make your
communities a better place to live. It is people like you that truly
make a difference in the people and places around you. As you read
this magazine and look over all the great things this organization and
its affiliate members are doing, you should all be very proud of your
accomplishments.
As contractors, we usually don’t have much time to spare outside of
running a business, but I encourage all of you to do what you can
to help those around you. Whether it’s helping out someone in our
industry with plumbing or heating, or simply volunteering your
time for someone in need, we can make a difference.
There are several ways we can volunteer some of our time and
resources, but one that may be
important in our industry is the
volunteering of time and resources
to students and/or anyone that
maybe interested in our trade or
industry. With the skilled labor
shortage affecting contractors
across the country, now is more
important than ever to get involved
with your local schools, colleges and
career centers. We as contractors have the responsibility to get out
and inform these potential candidates what kind of career is possible
in our industry. I believe this will be a necessity as we move forward
and the lack of skilled trades employees becomes more prevalent.
I encourage all of you to continue your support and help out where
