Kensington School’s
founder, Barbara Marlas,
believed what studies

Determined to provide an

created for the education
of pre-kindergartners, she
opened her first school in
the Chicago suburbs in
1969.
Since that first year,
Kensington School has
developed into a leader in
early childhood education
and recently opened its
10th location in Glenview
and will soon open its
11th in Arlington Heights
and 12th in Hinsdale. The
educational integrity and
the sustained determination
to provide children

learning opportunities
have been keenly fostered
over the years by Marlas,
her family and her staff of
educators. Never stagnant,
always evolving, Kensington
School’s carefully designed

through kindergarten age

The Kensington Tinkerlab
gives students ages 3 and
above the unique opportunity
to wonder, think and
dream as they build with
open-ended, real materials.
From the youngest infants
to our oldest kindergarten

through transitions; fullbody
music and movement
activities provide powerful
links to learning; and seasonal

All eight eligible
