8-10 AUG: Scoresby Sound & Ittoqqortoormiit<br />

village, Greenland<br />

While crossing the Greenland Sea and cruising along the<br />

Arctic ice edge, your expedition team prepares you for<br />

the world’s largest island: Greenland. Arrive at its rarely<br />

visited east coast by the Scoresby Sound, the largest fjord<br />

system in the world, which is yours to explore for the next<br />

three days. Embark on Zodiac excursions through the<br />

fjord’s intricate network, taking in its islands and icebergs,<br />

and searching for its animal residents, including the musk<br />

ox and reindeer. Ice conditions permitting, disembark for<br />

a visit to the small settlement of Ittoqqortoormiit – one of<br />

the most isolated villages in Greenland.<br />

11 AUG: <strong>Cruising</strong> the Denmark Strait<br />

Relax at sea as we traverse the narrow strip of water that<br />

separates Greenland from Iceland, and connects the Arctic<br />

Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. Continue in-depth conversations<br />

with your expedition team and fellow voyagers. Watch for<br />

seabirds and whale from the deck as you enjoy insightful<br />

lectures given by your enrichment team.<br />

12 AUG: Húsavík, Iceland<br />

Arrive in the picturesque town of Húsavík and<br />

visit the Húsavík Whale Museum, supported by A&K<br />

Philanthropy. The museum is one of the world’s foremost<br />

centres for research into whale and their habitat. After,<br />

choose to embark on a scenic whale-watching tour<br />

followed by free time in Húsavík, or set off for Goðafoss<br />

Falls and geothermal Lake Mývatn. In the evening, gather<br />

with your expedition team and fellow guests for a special<br />

farewell reception and dinner.<br />

13 AUG: West Fjords & Grundarfjörður<br />

Explore the glacier-carved terrain of Iceland’s West<br />

Fjords and Drangajökull, its northernmost glacier.<br />

Visit the fishing village of Grundarfjörður, one of the<br />

first in Iceland. Then, choose from excursions that<br />

include exploring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula with its<br />

stunning glacially formed peak, taking a boat tour and<br />

fresh sushi adventure around an archipelago teeming<br />

with exotic birds, and hiking over the region’s lava trails<br />

that are steeped in Viking lore.<br />

14 AUG: Depart Reykjavík<br />

This morning, disembark Le Boreal in Reykjavík and<br />

transfer to the airport for your return flight home, or<br />

continue to explore Iceland with a Reykjavík extension.<br />
