their 60th anniversary in sartorial style. To mark this special occasion a bespoke 

collection of six prints has been designed to honour six glorious decades of travel. 

A passion for travel, conservation and philanthropy lies at the heart of both brands 

making them the perfect partners to celebrate such an iconic moment in A&K’s history. 

The patterns play across signature swim shorts and linen shirts. You can choose from a 

lion print, the symbol of East Africa, and the place where A&K Founder, Co-Chairman 

and CEO Geoffrey Kent inaugurated the concept of luxury travel, through to a penguin 

print which gives a nod to A&K’s expedition cruises to the Antarctic. 

The capsule also features colourful designs inspired by travel to China, Egypt, Uganda, 

and an ocean blue rosette in recognition of A&K being the world’s best luxury tour 

operator. A donation will be made to A&K Philanthropy by LOVE BRAND & Co.

60 and Still Roaring 

In 1962, Geoffrey Kent founded A&K in Kenya with his parents Valerie and 

Colonel John Kent. As the pioneer of luxury travel, Geoffrey introduced the first 

mobile-tented safari and chilled his signature sundowners using a sterling silver ice 

bucket. This set the standard of adventure by day and luxury by night. A&K soon

Lucky Lanterns 

Guests of A&K were the earliest western travellers to access China when the first 

office opened in 1979 in Hong Kong. This followed a 67-day reconnaissance trip by 

Geoffrey Kent. Later in the 2020s, A&K again redefined luxury travel in China with

Egyptian Wonder 

In the early 1980s, A&K was the first travel company to secure an operating licence 

to take guests into Egypt. Following the original Death on the Nile, Geoffrey Kent

Standing Strong
