South Africa Located in the heart of the beautiful Robertson valley – a valley of wines and roses – lies Bon Courage Estate, home to some of South Africa’s finest wines and recognised both locally and internationally for their exceptional quality. The stately Cape Dutch homestead dates back to 1818 and the estate has enjoyed the attention and dedication of three generations of the Bruwer family since 1927. Bon Courage Gewürztraminer V Vg Pure and focused yet fresh with aromas and flavours of lychee, roses, cream and violets. Bon Courage Unwooded Chardonnay V Vg Tropical tones with orange peel and melon notes. Citrus flavours come through on the palate, with some lees and lime. Bon Courage Sauvignon Blanc V Vg A delicate, fruitful wine in the “new world” style. On the nose it is loaded with guava and coriander. The upfront acidity adds a refreshing dimension. The style is crisp and dry with mouth watering gooseberry and tropical fruit salad flavours. Bon Courage Cabernet Sauvignon V Vg This complex wine features rich flavours of fresh berries and hints of nut. Ripe plum, strawberry and black cherry notes mingle with vanilla and peppery spice on the nose. Full, rounded on the palate with clean toast oak backing, moving into a supple tannin finish. Bon Courage Shiraz V Vg The bouquet of this wine suggests tremendously ripe fruit, reminiscent of spicy plum jam. Ripe, sweet-fruited nose with loads of berry fruit, pepper and vanilla with subtle hints of karoo boss. Smoke and spice develop as the glass stands. Rounded tannins make for very easy drinking. Bon Courage Inkara Shiraz The fruit comes from selected single vineyards, with only handpicked grapes. The Inkara brand is derived from the names of the winemakers’ three children; Inge, Karli and Andre, a tribute to the fourth generation of Bruwers on the estate. A complex amalgam of red berried fruit, chocolate, espresso, mulberry with sweet spice and smoky oak. Round and full, velvety, ripe and fresh. Excellent ageing potential. Bon Courage estate 44
