MaeMae's Grandmother Book - Sample

I absolutely loved my job. Writing the faith stories of others
gave me a window into God’s creative and myriad methods of
pursuing His people. From successful governors, congressmen,
and athletes to hardworking men and women in a regular
everyday circle, I discovered again and again that our God is
ever present. The great takeaway was that those who live with
the greatest sense of peace and purpose are those who recognize
that God’s sovereignty knows no boundaries, and His love has
no limits. Even when the road is rocky, His presence comforts
and lights the path before us. He is not a neat little god that fits
efficiently into the Sunday compartment of one's schedule. He
invades all the parts of all our days. The God who gives breath
so often pursues until He captures the whole heart.
Every person’s story had its own vignettes—setting, scenes,
circumstances and cast of characters. But in so many ways all
those stories I got to tell were similar. Life can be brutal, but
God is good. The Bible says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one
person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27: 17).
I know that is true. Those who shared their very personal
stories with me took me to a deeper place in my own relationship
with the Lord. As the years sailed by, God took me through a
few trials of my own. I found encouragement by recalling those
personal stories of others. Although knowing God did not erase
all the hard things or cure all the hurt, the certainty of His
presence gave me strength and hope to just keep putting one
foot in front of the other every day. I knew I was not alone.
When I eventually found myself on the other side of a trial,
