Step 8<br />
Arrive on<br />
time<br />
or late<br />
It is important to arrive on time so you can get a good<br />
spot. Ideally near the food or entrance to the toilets.<br />
You will have a constant flow of traffic if you are<br />
positioned in either of these spots.<br />
If you arrive late (15 minutes maximum) it is risky, but<br />
you may end up with a spot by the entrance, so people<br />
will see you when they come in and again before they<br />
leave.<br />
Step 9 Setting up<br />
Try to set up as quickly as possible because before you<br />
know it, you will be swarmed by buyers wanting to know<br />
what you have on offer.<br />
This can be a little intimidating if you haven’t sold in<br />
public before.<br />
Don’t be afraid to tell them to come back once you’re all<br />
set up. This is why strategically packing the car the night<br />
before is so fundamental.<br />
Step 10 Have fun<br />
Display your fun posters/signs you prepared in step 6<br />
Play music (not too loud) to attract people to your stall. If music is already playing at the venue<br />
perhaps you could use a light up toy or similar to draw people in.<br />
Display interesting and unique items for all to see this will be a talking point.<br />
Always greet potential buyers with a smile and a morning or afternoon greeting, this breaks the<br />
ice and makes them more likely to stay and have a look.<br />
Hang all clothes on a rail and display in size order (this<br />
should be done during step 7).<br />
If you do not have use of a rail, display the clothes as neatly<br />
as possible across the table. Get creative with it.<br />
