From the Pastor
Dear Church Family,
Celebrate Good Times!
If you've ever been to a wedding reception, you probably know that song "Celebrate!"
Though life takes all of us through some difficult days, even still there are blessings all around
us. Sometimes we need to look around at our lives and just celebrate how good our God has been to us, and
the good blessings we are enjoying.
At Church Council last week, the leaders of this church celebrated the wonderful revival services we'd just
finished. We celebrated strong giving and increased worship attendance; we celebrated good participation
in small groups this fall and increased participation in caring ministries over the last year.
God is doing something in our church and in our midst. And that we should celebrate, even as we also look
forward to more and continue to ask "How can I do my part to strengthen our ministry together?"
May the Lord Jesus Christ bless and keep you+
-Rev. Daniel
Ministry is an activity carried out by Christians to express or spread their faith and to carry forth Christ’s mission in
the world. A ministry of the church is used to do just this. Here at St. Francisville UMC, we have numerous ministries
that you can take part in to further the word of Christ. For example, ACTS Luncheon (Adults Coming Together
Socially) meets each month for those 55 or over in the community. CHASE Daycare is a ministry of our church.
Through it, we touch the lives of children and families throughout the community. Vacation Bible School provides a
week-long opportunity for children to learn what the love of God means and how to share it with others. Our Mission
Team provides meals at Thanksgiving to over 300 individuals in the parish. The Angel Tree collection provides gifts to
children and parents in our community at Christmas. Members of our church family contribute money and supplies
to our local Food Bank, the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home, Assisi Heights, Country Manor Nursing Home, the
WF Family Service Center, the local animal shelter, and many, many more. There are many ways to be in ministry as a
church and as an individual. Find your way as a Christian to be in service to others through a ministry of the church.
Give your time and your skills to something that you feel in your heart needs your help.
This is what being a Christian is all about-carrying forth Christ’s mission in the world.
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and
teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be
built up. Ephesians 4:11-12

Our new Youth Director, Kelli Daniel, tells us a little about herself:
I was raised in the Catholic church all my life. I attended St.
John the Baptist in Zachary, LA, but have since transitioned
to a small home church and bible study setting. My family
and I are so grateful to have been invited back into such a
welcoming place of worship.
I am married to Austin S. Daniel and together we are raising
Ryan Daniel, who is currently in first grade. In my free time, I
am a runner, ambassador to an organization called Bike
Law, and triathlete. I am honored to have been asked to lead
the youth at St. Francisville United Methodist Church.

offers scholarships for
students
meeting
certain criteria. We
currently have 2
children in daycare
and 2 in after school
care receiving scholarships. The usual
scholarship offers 1/2 tuition in both
programs.
C.H.A.S.E.
We would like to make our
congregation aware of this opportunity of
giving. Daycare tuition is $650 a month so the
scholarship would be $325 per month. After
school tuition is $250 per month, the
scholarship would be $125 per month. If you
would like to sponsor a child in either program
or make a one-time donation for any amount,
it would be greatly appreciated.

Guide my hands and steady my heart that I may give comfort when I cannot give hope, that I may give
relief when I do not have a cure, and that I may radiate Your healing peace when the limits of science,
time, and the human body overwhelm. Amen.
