Mission<br />

To become a leading regional research centre on ruminant<br />

diseases through integrated and inter-disciplinary<br />

research.<br />

Objectives<br />

1. To perform integrated and comprehensive research,<br />

which include fundamental and strategic researches<br />

on selected ruminant diseases<br />

2. To disseminate research results and outcomes both<br />

at national and international levels through scientific<br />

publications<br />

3. To enhance the awareness on ruminant diseases<br />

and control methods via advisory, consultation and<br />

training activities<br />

4. To offer scientific environment on ruminant research<br />

for collaborative research and training<br />

Activities<br />

Current research programs include:<br />

1. Pasteurellosis of ruminants<br />

• Pasteurellosis of goats and sheep<br />

• Haemorrhagic septicaemia of cattle and buffaloes<br />

2. Zoonotic diseases<br />

• Brucellosis of large and small ruminants<br />

• Caseous lymphadenitis of goats<br />

3. Herd health and disease control<br />

• Herd health protocols including feed and feeding,<br />

and breeding of meat goats and buffaloes<br />

4. Metabolic diseases of ruminants<br />

• Ketosis and milk fever<br />
