An opening letter from the Head Editors,
welcoming you to our first issue of the year.
Hello! Welcome to the first
issue of Alutant’s 48th volume.
Our first issue is coming
out later than it has in past
years. This was on purpose.
We wanted a large issue
that showcases all of our reporters
and gives you an idea
of what’s to come in later issues.
This takes time. We had to
learn about our team and ourselves,
as well as what you
guys want.
Our entire team put a lot of
work into making this issue as
great as possible. So, here’s 28
pages of pure quality content,
for you all to enjoy.
Being a student run publication
is truly exciting.
We run just about everything
ourselves. We choose
what we write, how to write
it, and even design the layout
of every article ourselves.
Everything comes to fruition
with our hard work.
Of course, that comes with
it’s own set of trials and tribulations,
but it’s definitely
worth it.
Journalism teaches students
so much more than how

responsibility. It allows us to
work with our peers in a brand
new way. It gives us something
to be proud of.
We want to bring you the
news of the school, country, and
world- in a way that matters to
you. We want to find out what’s
happening and why, and write
down history in the making.

Another way for students
of Ellensburg High School to
contribute to our publication
is by sending us your work!
We accept freelance writing,
photography, and artwork.
It’s a great way for you to
showcase your work, and for us
to understand what’s important
to you all.
So from us here at the Alutant
to all of you, we truly appreciate
