STEPHENSON PUBLIC LIBRARY EVENTS<br />

Located in the heart of downtown<br />

Marinette, the Stephenson Public Library is<br />

conveniently situated on Hall Avenue, with<br />

parking off of Riverside Avenue. As the main<br />

branch of the Marinette County Consolidated<br />

Public Library Services, the Stephenson<br />

Public Library works in conjunction with the<br />

OWLSnet library consortium to share resources<br />

with community libraries across much of<br />

Northeastern Wisconsin. In addition to the<br />

volumes of books, eBooks, audiobooks, digital<br />

audiobooks, movies, music, and magazines the<br />

library has available for the public to borrow, the<br />

Stephenson Public Library also provides public<br />

access to 12 Internet computer stations, wireless<br />

Internet, printing and photocopying, comfortable<br />

lounge chairs, a quiet study area, a children’s<br />

play area, a teen-friendly<br />

space, genealogical and<br />

local history resources,<br />

and programs to meet the<br />

needs of our community.<br />

PRESCHOOL STORY TIME. Held Tuesdays<br />

from 10 to 11 a.m. The program is for ages 3 to 6<br />

with a parent of caregiver; siblings are welcome.<br />

The group will read stories, share rhymes and<br />

songs and explore learning through crafts,<br />

discovery tables and more..<br />

ITSY BITSY LIMITED. Held Tuesdays at 11<br />

a.m for children 3 years old or younger. This<br />

is a story time similar to Itsy Bitsy Story Time,<br />

but attendance is limited for children who need<br />

or want a smaller, more intimate story time.<br />

Preregistration is required and will be available<br />

online two weeks prior to the start of the session.<br />

ITSY BITSY STORY TIME. Held Wednesdays<br />

from 11 to 11:45 a.m. The program is for ages birth<br />

to 3 with a parent or caregiver. The group will play,<br />

sing, read and rhyme in ways that foster bonding<br />

and learning.<br />

GENEALOGY HELP SESSION. Held<br />

Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m. Those<br />

who need help starting genealogy research or are<br />

stuck may meet with a member of the Marinette<br />

& Menominee Area Genealogy Group during this<br />

open session for personalized assistance.<br />

PAWS & TALES. Held Wednesdays; time slots<br />

are by appointment. This reading program is<br />

available for adults and children who want to build<br />

confidence in reading aloud. Readers can choose a<br />

book and practice reading out loud to a registered<br />

therapy dog. People may contact Lara Lakari at the<br />

library, 715-732-7570, for a time slot.<br />

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BOOK CLUB.<br />

Held from 1 to 2 p.m. People may borrow a copy<br />

of the books using the library’s website, www.<br />

infosoup.org. New members are welcome to join<br />

the conversation.<br />

GENEALOGY DISCUSSION GROUP. The<br />

Genealogy Discussion Group is open to anyone<br />

interested in researching family history. Each<br />

month, a member of the group shares research<br />

tips or resources to help other researchers conduct<br />

their own research at home. For more information,<br />
