If receiving reminders from your community’s property management
company has you pressed for time to seek out service providers, then

1) Cleaning house siding: purchase one of the solutions from the local
hardware store; follow the instructions to first pre-clean off any excess

better yet, wash off your driveway at least once a month with your own

great exercise plus you are doing a home inspection by tending to your
own home
4) Trim the vines: procrastinators this is for you! Trim each month and
you will never have to deal with the lovely vines turning into weeds;
besides, it can also be a breeding ground for pests.

James E. Taylor High School Theatre Department presents Eurydice
by Sarah Ruhl. The modern retelling of the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice
and its themes of death, love and the fleeting nature of happiness. When
a mysterious stranger lures Eurydice into Hades, Orpheus must face the
underworld to save her forcing Eurydice to choose between the love of her
husband and the certainty of her father. The cast features junior Josiah
Castillo as Father, junior Jacob Lewis as Interesting Man, freshman Bob
Beathard as Orpheus and junior Caitlin Zimmerman as Eurydice. When asked
about his experience working on the production, Jacob Lewis said, “I love
the technical things we’re doing to do with the show. I think it’s going to take
the audience’s breath away.” Performances take place November 8 th at 7 PM
and November 9 th at 2 PM and 7 PM at the James E. Taylor Black Box Theatre.

Madrigal Dinner, cherished tradition in its 36 th year at Taylor High School,
is a wonderful evening of holiday entertainment which includes a
concert performance by all seven Taylor HS choirs. A delightful way to
start the holiday season, Madrigal Dinner features a four-course catered
dinner, served by choir students acting as wenches and beggars and is
interwoven with a Renaissance period skit, choir, hand bell performances
and audience participation. The school cafeteria is transformed into a
castle dining hall, complete with drawbridge, fireplace and castle walls.
The community and parents look forward to this much-anticipated event
and it is a perennial sell-out. Before the show and during intermission,
dinner guests will have a chance to bid on a wide variety of unique silent
auction items as well as an opportunity to participate in raffles for several
themed gift baskets provided by the THS choirs. Tickets are $30 each and

OFF DUTY SERVICES 1ST ANNUAL CHILI COOK OFF
Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day for our
community in Katy and across the country. In honor of these men and
women, we are hosting our 1 st Annual Chili Cook Off and all proceeds and
donations will be going directly towards the National Law Enforcement
Officers Memorial Fund. The event is taking place on Saturday, November
2, 2019 from 12-4 PM at No Label Brewery in Katy, TX. We are expecting
over 500 attendees and a huge sampling from our chili cook off teams!
Kids under 12 are free with an adult admission. For more info, www.

the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The Memorial
Fund built and continues to maintain the nation’s monument to law
enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. In addition, the Memorial
Fund maintains the largest, most comprehensive database of line-of-duty
officer deaths, conducts research into officer fatality trends and issues
and serves as an information clearinghouse. More recently, the Memorial
Fund has built the National Law Enforcement Museum, adjacent to the
Memorial in Washington, DC. The Museum tells the story of American law

For the first time in its 100+ year history, the iconic program of the Boy
Scouts of America will be open to young women, giving girls from ages 11-17
the same experience that boys have traditionally enjoyed. Scouts BSA Troop
418 is a new girl-led unit, meeting at Trinity Baptist Church on Spring Green

Lady Bird Chapter Hosts Back to School Senior Fashion Show
This past August, the National Charity League, Inc., Lady Bird Chapter (NCL, Inc.) hosted a Peace, Love and NCL Runway Fashion Show at the Redeemer
Community Church in Katy. The Class of 2020 organized the event which has become a back to school tradition for the chapter. The senior class
modeled fashions from Sassafras Boutique and Gifts (Katy) and jewelry from Park Lane Jewelry (Katy). Proceeds from the show will benefit one of the
chapter’s philanthropies, Keep Kids Connected and help subsidize the cost of their Senior Recognition Program in May of next year. The Senior Class of
2020 has been together since 2014 and along with their mothers, they completed thousands of philanthropy hours in the Katy area. What a fun way for
