Modular I/O system for all signal types and fieldbus systems<br />

and bus systems. With Bus Terminals offering<br />

IP 20 protection and Fieldbus Box modules<br />

PROFIBUS<br />

PROFIBUS is widely used as a fast bus<br />

PROFINET<br />

PROFINET is the op<strong>en</strong> Industrial Ethernet<br />

standard of the PNO (PROFIBUS users<br />

organisation). Internationally established<br />

IT standards such as TCP/IP are used for<br />

EtherNet/IP<br />

Ethernet/IP is the Industrial Ethernet<br />

standard of the ODVA (Op<strong>en</strong> DeviceNet<br />

V<strong>en</strong>dor Association). Ethernet/IP is based<br />

on Ethernet TCP/IP and UDP/IP.<br />

CANop<strong>en</strong><br />

The effective utilisation of the bus bandwidth<br />

allows CANop<strong>en</strong> to achieve a short system<br />

reaction time at comparatively low data<br />

SERCOS<br />

SERCOS was originally developed as a fast<br />

fibre optic bus system for drives. Thanks<br />

to the Beckhoff SERCOS Bus Coupler, the<br />

advantages such as high data rate and<br />

short cycle times can now be provided<br />

for the I/O peripherals too.<br />

Modbus RTU<br />

Modbus RTU is an op<strong>en</strong>, serial communications<br />

protocol based on the master/slave<br />

architecture. Since it is extremely easy to<br />

implem<strong>en</strong>t on all kinds of serial interfaces,<br />

it has gained wide acceptance.<br />

Modbus TCP<br />

Due to its op<strong>en</strong> standards Modbus TCP is<br />

common for the use of Ethernet in the fields<br />

of automation. Modbus TCP has a so called<br />

“Well known port (Port 502)”, which makes<br />

it routable via the Internet.<br />

RS232/RS485<br />

The classic serial interfaces, RS232 and<br />

RS485, continue in wide use. The Beckhoff<br />

RS485/RS232 I/O modules use a simple,<br />

published serial communication protocol<br />

that is easy to implem<strong>en</strong>t.<br />

IO-Link<br />

IO-Link serves to connect s<strong>en</strong>sors and<br />

actuators to the control level by means of<br />

an inexp<strong>en</strong>sive point-to-point connection.<br />

As an op<strong>en</strong> interface, IO-Link can be integrated<br />

in all common fieldbus systems.<br />

EnOcean <strong>en</strong>ables the battery-free transmission<br />

values and is mainly used in building<br />

BACnet/IP<br />

BACnet (Building Automation Control<br />

Network) is a standardised, manufacturerindep<strong>en</strong>d<strong>en</strong>t<br />

communication protocol for<br />

building automation, based on Ethernet.<br />

control, safety and fire alarm technology.<br />
