The Senator, who had had a taste of acting in a new TV series ‘Equity Unbound’ features alongside stellar cast of Kunle Remi, Joy Idoko, Ayoola Ayobami, Linda Osifo, Mofe Duncan, Real Warri Pikin, Chioma Idigo, Sean King, among others. This long anticipated movie is a stimulating account of affection, ambition and determination to succeed irrespective of the circumstances, with strong emphasis on courage, tenacity and diligence. A production of 100% Joy Media Productions and directed by prolific film maker, Lummie Edevibe of Filmcorp, it is the story of a single mum and aspiring writer who finds courage to leave a toxic relationship, and to pursue her dreams on her own. Decided not to get tangled in another heartbreak, she fends off all advances and eventually finds true love in a most unexpected way. The new movie, ‘Lemonade’ is touted to be one of the best movies to be released in 2019 judging by the reviews of the trailer, caliber of cast, crew and the script. The tickets for the premiere are already selling at designated centers in Abuja. It was an occasion that provided an opportunity for stakeholders in the movie and tech industry to witness firsthand the unveiling of the streaming platform from Envivo, a technology company that focuses on digital contents. The new Nvivo app is a free video on demand platform offering diverse short format content from some of the world’s best content providers, as well as locally created original production. According to the streaming service providers, it comprises a large bouquet of different kinds of television shows, mostly in short films from Nollywood that are original. The People’s Hero reality TV show: Team Ofuobi wins first round With a perfect fusion of singing, dancing, spoken word and acting, audience were taken on a thrilling journey down the memory lane at the People’s Hero live show last weekend as different groups performed artistic piece centred around the origin of the Igbo market days namely Eke, Orio, Afor and Nkwo in a tales by moonlight setting. The twenty finalists of The People’s Hero show had been divided into five groups of four persons comprising a dancer, singer, actor and spoken work artiste. The groups, Agwu, Obidike, Obinwanne, Ofuobi and Ichekwu were all given a task to work with the theme “Egwu-Onwa” known in English as “Tales by Moonlight” to create stories around the Igbo market days with each art playing significant role. Each group performed to thrill the audience and impress the judges who were very demanding and expected nothing short of excellent performances. The judges expected rich delivery of Igbo culture creatively expressed in the four arts. At the end of the performances, two of the three judges rated the Ofuobi group the best for the night and urged other groups to work harder and improve their skills. No eviction happened at the show as all the groups were pardoned and urged to go back to drawing tables and improve on their performances. The show is getting fiercer as eviction may commence from next week. Nvivo TV’s launch lights up AFRIFF MTN celebrates Indian ‘Diwali Festival’ in Lagos As part of its commitment to foster communal spirit among Nigerians as well as celebrate the unique diversity among its customers, MTN Nigeria supported the just concluded Diwali Festival of Lights, which took place at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos on Saturday, 16th November, 2019. Diwali, which means an array of lights, is the most important festival celebrated in India and symbolizes the victory of good over evil. During the annual celebration, friends and families gather to share love, food and happiness to others. For many Indians and non-Indians alike who attended the event, it was an amazing experience. The festival kicked off with an exhibition of various Indian cuisines, as well as other Indian products. The event also had in attendance over 4000 Indians and lovers of Indian culture, whose excitement lit up the venue. The crescendo was when popular Indian music trio, Shankaar Ehsaan Loy took to the stage, performing some of their hit Bollywood soundtracks. This heightened the much expected excitement from guests. Also present at the event were High Commissioner of India to Nigeria, Abhay Thakur; Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, Rahul De; President, Indian Cultural Association, Sanjay Jain and other high profile members of the Indian Cultural Association.
