Dear Friends,

Each school year brings excitement, hope and promise. It is filled with infinite possibilities for new beginnings and

discoveries for our young women. The 2018-2019 year was no exception. This small publication is a big expression of our

gratitude for the many ways you have iMpacted the lives of our students this past fiscal year. As you read through this

report I know you’ll be buoyed, as I am, by the many individuals and organizations who have contributed financially to

make Mother McAuley the very best school for young women in Chicagoland.

The choice you make to be generous of spirit shapes the extent of our program, the direction of our school’s future and

the lives of the young women we educate. Your gifts – whether for our Future Ready campaign, the McAuley Fund, Mercy

Day of Giving, class gifts or other areas – are changing outcomes for our girls in powerful ways. Our students are inspired to

learn, lead and succeed every day. This success is measured in our 100% college acceptance rate, National Merit scholarship

contenders, strong Advanced Placement scores, award-winning fine arts program, multiple state athletic championships,

leadership accolades, service projects, summer immersion programs and so much more. Perhaps the greatest success is

one that eludes all metrics but is the undercurrent throughout all we do: the belief that each and every girl is educated in

the hallmarks of the Sisters of Mercy, instilling them with the confidence, compassion and inner peace to embrace their

lives with no limits.

Much has been accomplished and there is always more to be done. Today, we have the highest number in our history

of students receiving financial aid – 78 percent. In meeting with alumnae I listen as they revel with pride in the guiding

force of their McAuley experience. Similarly, I have listened to stories of aspiration told by prospective parents who wish

for a McAuley education for their daughter. Although the landscape of education has changed, I have faith that our

community is resolute in ensuring the lifetime advantage of a Mother McAuley education is available to all who desire it.

I stand in amazement at the timelessness of our mission and what it meant for so many, and what it will mean for many

more to come.

I hope that as you consider the progress highlighted in this report and made possible through your dedication and

commitment to our efforts you will know the depth of our gratitude.

In gratitude and mercy,

Mary Acker Klingenberger ‘75

President
