Open Door for families at
Aberdeen Christian Fellowship
Union Grove in Aberdeen is home to
Aberdeen Christian Fellowship – an
evangelical church which is part of the Baptist
Union of Scotland. There has been a church on
this site since 1892 and as David Young, their
Children’s Pastor explained, “As a church in
the city centre we have always sought to be an
integral part of the wider community, offering
a warm welcome to all who come through our
doors, and serving the people around us. “
He continued, “Our youth groups have been
running for over a decade, Mainly Music (for
parents and pre-schoolers) is in its eighth year,
and Spark (an after-school group for parents and
nursery/primary children) has just celebrated its
first birthday! We also run Fuel (a youth group for
P7-S3s), and Diesel (a youth group for S3-6s).”
Every group and every service they run is open
to all. David explained, “You don’t have to call
yourself a Christian to be a part of any of the
groups or events we run! We would love to chat
to you about faith, but you have a place here
wherever your own
beliefs lie. The main
thing we would
love is for people
to come and get
involved! Join our
mid-week groups,
come along on
a Sunday, and
check out our different events, such as our busy
Christmas programme.
David added, “The vast majority of our groups
and events are free, and even those that do have
a small cost we are happy to waive for anyone
that has financial difficulties. We would love to
see you at one of our ACF events, so why not
join us this Christmas as we celebrate Jesus’
birth!”
