PLEASE HELP HERD COVER THE
COSTS OF ITS BANCROFT FIGHT!
On October 22, the campaign for age-restricted housing at Bancroft
achieved a major goal when a Camden County Superior Court judge
confirmed that the Haddonfield Commissioners must “take steps to
redesign the development project ... to achieve age restriction“ (i.e. a
development designed specifically for those age 55 plus).
Haddonfield Encouraging Responsible Development (“HERD”) has
been waging its campaign for age-restricted housing at Bancroft for
several years, in opposition to the Commissioners’ developer-friendly
and meaningless “age-targeted” proposals. We have contributed money
ourselves, and many members of the community have contributed
also. We have raised more than $26,000 online and in direct donations
towards estimated legal and other expenses of more than $40,000.
We are most grateful for the support received to date, but to meet
our obligations we must continue to appeal for contributions from the
community.
