SOAK UP LAKE LIFE
Middleton is located on one of
Wisconsin’s iconic lakes—Lake
Mendota—and there are several ways
you can get on the water to soak in
the sun or take in views of the state
Capitol. Here are a few of our favorite
ways to experience Lake Mendota.
Marshall Boats Board & Boat Rentals
has a fleet of new kayaks, canoes,
paddleboards and pontoon boats
available for rent in Marshall Park. The
business also operates a café, offers
lessons and hosts special events.
Boaters who come with their own
watercraft will find some nice places
to launch a boat in and around
Middleton: the Lake Street Boat
Ramp, the Marshall Park Boat Ramp
and the small boat launch at Mendota
County Park .
Captain Bill’s is a seafood restaurant
right on the shore of Lake Mendota.
The restaurant serves up delicious
seafood, steaks, chicken and pasta
dishes, as well as a beautiful lake view.
If you would like to stay on shore to
relax, head to Mendota County Park .
The park has a 30-unit campground
and a five-unit boat campground as
well as a swimming area, volleyball
courts and play equipment.
For a pleasant stroll, explore the
Pheasant Branch Creek Corridor Trail .
The paved trail follows a meandering
creek that feeds Lake Mendota.
