Hear
The ability to perceive sounds through the ear by
detecting vibrations as periodic changes in the
pressure of a surrounding medium.
Sight
The faculty or power of seeing. The sense that
uses light and colour to perceive images in our
field of view either directly or in our peripheral
field of view.
Smell
The power of perceiving scents through the nose
Our sense of smell can enable the recognition of
an environment or activity where memories are
recalled.
Feel
The ability to discern the touch or pressure of an
object and understand the material or texture
through feeling.
Taste
Once an object comes into contact with our
taste buds the fifth sense comes into action and
transmits this information to the brain, therefore
telling us the taste of the object.
Vestibular
A commonly overlooked sense above the “5
Traditional Senses” although very important to
our daily lives. The vestibular system collects
information about movement, balance ans spatial
orientation.
Proprioception
The second most overlooked sense.
Proprioception is awareness of body position,
movement, muscle tension, heaviness etc
relating to the current conditions.
