OUR HISTORY
1940
JMP Foodservice opens selling eggs
in the 1940s by James Metcalfe Pratt,
at Birks Mill, Sedbergh.
1960
James’ son, Denis Pratt joined the
business in the 1960s, when they started
stocking frozen products. He is still part
of the company today, with his daughters
Anne Benville and Jill Fearnhead.
1988
JMP Foodservice joined Fairway
Foodservice. We also stopped focusing
on eggs to concentrate on the frozen
food sector.
2003
In 2003 we introduced Ambient, Chilled,
Cleaning and Disposable products.
2017
A busy year. We changed the wagons
from green to white cabs, renovated
the office building and were finalists at
the Cumbria Family Business Awards.
2018
In July 2018 we rebranded our logo and
bought a new wagon.
2020
Today JMP Foodservice consists of three
purpose built cold stores, with 14 wagons
and 2 vans delivering within an 80 mile
radius of the depot, including Scotland,
Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire. We
currently list over 3,500 products with 40
employees across the warehouse, drivers,
office team and area sales managers.
