By performing one hundred hours,you will receive a Presidential Award at aceremony or assembly at year-end. In addition to solvingORRHS technology problems, students will berequired to complete and maintain severalongoing projects that address problems orsolutions in educational technology integration.To be successful in this course, students shouldhave a minimal prior understanding ofChromebooks and Google Apps for Educationtools.770INTRODUCTION TO TELEVISIONPRODUCTIONLEVEL 3 | 2.5 CREDITS | HALF YEARGRADES 9-12This hands-on course meets the Arts graduationrequirement. This is an in-depth, half-yearcourse that teaches you the basic skills of studioproduction, handling multi-camera filming,learning studio lighting techniques, audio, andcontrol room procedures including directing andtechnical directing, television talent, and ways ofbehaving in front of the camera. Incorporatedinto the course are the three stages ofproduction: pre-production, production, andpost-production.During second half of the year, you will coveron-location filming, electronic newsgathering,and event filming (sports, school events, andon-location interviews). This course will coverstoryboarding and basic script writing. You willalso perform editing on current Mac software.999INDEPENDENT STUDYYou may petition to do an independent study inor out of the building by submitting anindependent study contract signed by theinstructor and approved by your parents orguardian. In this course you willwork in production teams to plan and developstories, gather footage, edit using Mac software,and deliver a news-based television program.You will develop the ability to analyze andinterpret news, develop an understanding of theethical and legal issues tied to journalism,collaborative teamwork skills and professionalvideography skills. Your work will air on cabletelevision.
