lively talk or debate featuring eminent experts on each
subject. Topics will be germane to all endoscopists.

Description:
In recent years, global endoscopy devices have been
witnessing growth due to various driving factors.
Some of the primary drivers include the rising need for
minimally invasive procedures, a diversity in patient
populations, increasing obesity rates and a shift towards
more geriatric patients. Not surprisingly, our patients
continue to demand more from us along with greater
efficiency. They no longer are willing to wait hours to be
cared for and seek experts who leverage best practices
in endoscopy technology and techniques in combination
with efficient care delivery systems. These combined
trends are a major component of our practices’ patient
satisfaction today. Where are you in keeping up with
endoscopic technique, technologies and practice trends?
This session is designed to facilitate your learning
on critical trends, studies and anticipated new best
practices from experts in the GI endoscopy field who
are integrating innovative approaches and improving
the quality of patient care. Topic areas will include the
use of Hemospray, over-the-scope clips, prophylactic
hemoclipping, bariatric therapies, computer-assisted
diagnostic systems, managing patients with pancreatic
cysts, EUS tools and techniques, EFTR and STER for
gastrointestinal subepithelial tumors and much more. In
addition, we will hear from ASGE women leaders who
are addressing career pathways for our future women
leaders in gastroenterology and GI endoscopy. We will
highlight the past challenges, the progression made and
barriers yet to be addressed. On the behalf of the faculty
of this session, we look forward to seeing you and
engaging in questions, answers and discussions on how
our profession continues to grow.
Learning Objectives:
• Understand critical drivers that are affecting GI
endoscopy techniques and unit practices.
• Identify one key study that will impact your
endoscopy practice.
• Describe current trends for women in GI Endoscopy
and Gastroenterology practices.
