Each community and each region
has its own parliament and
government. If you add them all up
Belgium should technically have
seven parliaments and seven
governments: 3 communities
+ 3 regions + 1 federal government
= 7 parliaments and governments.
And yet we “only” have six parliaments
and six governments:
the Flemish Parliament and the
Government of Flanders govern
the Flemish Community and the
Flemish Region.
