TO THE READERS!
DEAR
FRIENDS!
Here is the first issue of the Olympic Reserve No.1 journal – an edition about
child and youth sports, which we hope will become a reliable information guide
to sports arenas, training centers and scientific labyrinths for young athletes,
their parents, sports professionals and fans of physical education and sports.
Strengthening the health of the younger generation, the harmonious physical
development of young Russians and preparing a sports reserve for the national
teams of the Russian Federation are the main tasks facing specialists in the field
of physical culture and sports today.
In order to occupy a leading position in the world arenas, we must not only
nurture high-class athletes, but also have a strong reserve, modern sports
infrastructure, and interesting projects to promote physical education and
sports in our country.
Modern sport requires new, more effective means, methods and organizational
forms of training a sports reserve. Teachers, trainers, doctors, physiologists,
psychologists and other specialists continue to search for new points of growth
results in working with young athletes of various age groups.
How do they train, what’s on their minds and who do they look up to, the future
Olympic champions of our country? You will find answers to these questions
on the pages of the journal in interviews with Olympic champions, world and
European champions, coaches of the sports teams of the Russian Federation
and sports officials.
Our journal is open for informational cooperation. If you want to take part in the
creation of the journal and talk about how future Olympic champions train in
your region, feel free to write articles, interviews or reviews. Send materials to:
EXPERT OPINION
ABOUT JUVENILE SPORTS
“
“In Russia, the development of physical culture
and sports is among the national priorities.
We are building a modern, comfortable sports
infrastructure. Mass events and the revived GTO
complex (Ready for Labor and Defense) are
becoming increasingly popular. Regions and
municipalities play a special role here, since the
path to success, victories and records begins with
yard sports grounds, with district youth athletic
clubs and amateur clubs. ”
President of Russian Federation
V.V. Putin in his address to participants
and guests of the 6th International Sports
Forum «Russia is a Sports Power»
(http://www.rosbalt.ru)
“It is very important that people go in for sports every
day, within a walking distance. Therefore, we
“
have
increased 2.3 times the number of sports facilities in
Moscow over the past years. , these are inexpensive
facilities, within a walking distance: ski slopes, running
tracks and bike paths, open-air workout grounds,
skating rinks and so on. 190 skating rinks with artificial
ice have been constructed, they are all very popular.
And, in this connection, it should be mentioned that
life expectancy of Muscovites has increased by four
years during this time – here is a serious contribution
of sport alongside with health care. And it is still
increasing – every year by six months. This is a world
record in dynamic growth of life expectancy. ”
Moscow Mayor S.S. Sobyanin,
at the meeting of the Presidential Council for
Physical Education and Sports
In 2016, the Moscow College of Olympic Reserve No. 1
celebrated the 45th anniversary of the founding of the institution.
On this significant day, Moscow Mayor Sergei Semenovich
Sobyanin visited and congratulated the trainers, students,
graduates and veterans of the school, emphasizing that the city
authorities are ready to continue to do everything possible to
develop domestic sports.
S.S. Sobyanin during his visit examined the training halls and
classrooms of the school. In a solemn ceremony, the mayor said
that by 2020, a modern sports complex with a swimming pool
will be built on the territory of the Moscow Specialized College
of Olympic Reserve No. 1. The total area of the three-story
building will be about 6 thousand square meters. Namely, five
special areas for rhythmic gymnastics will be designed in the new
building. In addition, two more pools – one swimming pool with
six lanes, sized 25 by 16 meters, and the second swimming pool
for teaching children to swim, sized 10 by 8 meters.
The building will house choreographic and gymnasiums,
medical and massage rooms. Facilities for coaches, judges,
medical staff, administrative and technical units will be provided.
This is a great gift not only for students of the college, but also
for all residents of Moscow.
“Moscow Olympic College No. 1 is number one
not only because of its number. You are
“
the
first by results, by the number of winners of the
Olympic Games – there are seventy of them!
And there are 2700 winners and prize-winners
of Russian, European and world championships.
You are an example for millions of children who
are passionate about sports. And, of course,
behind these dry statistics there is a lot of work
and the desire for victory for the boys and girls
who went to school within these walls, a lot of
work by teachers, trainers who put their soul into
you, and, of course, the whole country is proud
of your results”.
Moscow Mayor S.S. Sobyanin,
from his congratulations on the Jubilee of
the Olympic Reserve College No. 1
SOFIA VELIKAYA:
“I AM A HAPPY PERSON!”
OLYMPIC RESERVE REFERENCE (NOTE):
Sofia Velikaya – Olympic champion
in saber fencing.
What brings you to sports? Are you
from a sports family?
I am from a sports family. My parents
were fond of volleyball and basketball
from the institute, now they spend their
free time actively, we are attracted by all
kinds of sports. I am from a sports family.
We were very developed, were able to
play all games. I have two brothers: Gregory
and Trofim, They are also athletes. It
happened so that our family formed a
sports dynasty.
Why fencing, and why does three of
you do fencing?
This is probably fate. There were many
occasions, chance encounters, and they
were significant in our sports life. They
brought my elder brother to the school
of the Olympic reserve in Kazakhstan.
There he was assigned to the fencing section.
And then he introduced me and my
younger brother to this sport. After moving
to Moscow, he entered the School of
Olympic Reserve No. 1, a forge of Olympic
champions. He opened for me the way
to this school. At first it was very difficult
for me. The school has very high requirements
for sports results. Nevertheless, the
level of Kazakhstan athletes and Russian
athletes in fencing is not comparable. In
Russia, it is much higher. To be honest, I
thought that I could not finish a year, and
they would expel me. Therefore, I needed
to study well and also try to fulfill the
minimum sports plan. To our common
surprise, I didn’t succeed, I thought that
my sports career would end soon but in a
half a year I have won the Russian Championship:
first in the cadets, the next day
in juniors, I passed the selection for the
World Championship, and I returned as a
winner. This is how my first year at school
passed.
What role did the Olympic reserve
school play in your formation?
The school is my home, my family, because
children grew up in the school and
were brought up here. We lived away
from our parents. The school gave us education,
provided us with food, took care
of safety, taught us self-control and discipline.
I believe that thanks to the school,
we had a good school of life.
From the height of your rich experience,
what advice would you give to
today’s pupils of the school – children,
athletes, who sometimes find it difficult
and hard to train, who are tired
and probably want to quit?
I do not think that only athletes, all
teenagers want it. It is impossible, and
it is useless to force them to train. My
brothers and I had many friends who,
unfortunately, did not finish school.
Unfortunately, they did not achieve
high results in sports, being insanely talented.
Sometimes they wanted to take
a walk, sometimes to have fun, paid little
attention to study and thought that
they could skip the training. They did not
achieve the results they were counting
on. As a result, they had to start another
new life in the big city and on their own.
What would I recommend? First of all,
patience. Set a goal and boldly with full
dedication go to it. Believe in teachers
and trust the coach. Be organized. In the
modern world you can’t relax. There is no
time to fix errors. The competition is very
high. Make less mistakes, guys! Listen to
the elders, they will guide and always
help you.
What is the answer to the question,
what is more important, talent or hard
work?
Of course, one complements the other.
You may be talented, but because of
your laziness you can lose your opportunity
and chance. On the other hand,
you can be a workaholic, but you have
no personality that you would use in a
particular business, sport.
In your opinion, what is the situation
today with youth sports, in particular,
fencing?
SPORTS IN FACES
Are there enough candidates to
change the previous generation? Fencing
is quite an age-related sport and not
massive. But, despite this, competition
is growing. What we didn’t have 3 years
ago today is fully present. Young athletes
are in the national team: Olga Nikitina,
Sonya Pozdnyakova and Alina Mikhailova.
Young athletes need a certain competitive
experience, and it is gained for
years. Someone can pick it up in 4 years,
for the Olympic cycle, while someone
needs more time. Leaders who have
been performing for many years, including
me, need to be stronger than young
athletes in order to take their place in
the national team. I think that the situation
began to change after the victory
THE SCHOOL IS MY HOME, MY FAMILY, BECAUSE CHILDREN GREW UP
IN THE SCHOOL AND WERE BROUGHT UP HERE.
WE LIVED AWAY FROM OUR PARENTS. THE SCHOOL GAVE US
EDUCATION, PROVIDED US WITH FOOD, TOOK CARE OF SAFETY,
TAUGHT US SELF-CONTROL AND DISCIPLINE.
There is a year and a half before the
Olympic Games in Tokyo, and the most
cherished dream is the Olympic Games, a
gold medal, and preferably two. And the
next competition in May is my favorite
Moscow Saber tournament. The best
fencers of the world will gather in the capital.
For me it is no less significant than the
World Cup, because my relatives, friends,
those people who care about fencing,
who love fencing and athletes, will come
to these competitions. In June – the European
Championship, in July – the World
Cup, and it will already be clear what position
in the world ranking we will take,
how to prepare further. The fight for the
Olympic Games has begun. The most important
points must be won at the World
and European championships.
Is support of your relatives and
friends from the stands important for
you? Is it important to hear that they
cheer you?
I can hardly hear anything, but I’m
sure that if people come to competitions
and sincerely worry and love me, their
energy will give me extra strength.
of our team at the Olympic Games in Rio,
and our task is to popularize our sport
with such unconditional victories at the
Olympic Games, world and European
championships.
In fencing, you have all the possible
titles. What are the main starts ahead?
What are your global goals?
I am a happy person, I do not only do
my work, but also have great pleasure
from the work that I have chosen. It is
difficult for me to criticize anything in my
life in terms of sports, results, achievements,
because I received positive emotions
from each performance, regardless
of what place was taken. There are wonderful
fights without a medal, but with
great pleasure that I had a wonderful
fight. What happened yesterday remains
in the past. The title is won, achievements
are passed, and the most interesting
thing is to make a step further, stay
in fencing, go through another Olympic
cycle. It has been 3 years since I returned
to sport after the birth of my second
child, they were quite successful, and it
makes me extremely happy, inspired. I
am motivated by the joy of my beloved,
my mother, my dad, brothers, children,
who are happy and satisfied. I am in demand
in the team, and it gives me great
pleasure.
How does the training schedule
of the Olympic champion, World and
European champion Sophia Velikaya
look like?
It’s hard. You have to combine a lot.
Every evening I can’t imagine how to do
it tomorrow, but still, waking up in the
morning, I go to my goal. I get up at 6.30,
I go to workout. Then I return to my children.
And so on and on every day. I train
five days a week and have two workouts
a day. In total it’s 6-8 hours a day. It’s
tough, of course. But I really want to go
this way, to do it beautifully, satisfying
and happy and so I think right now I can
and should be patient.
you say that this is your home? Was a
piece of you left here?
Of course (smiles)! Of course, this is
my hometown since 1974. I came here
for the first time as a 15-year-old boy and
did not leave until graduation. When
I finished doing sports, I worked here
as a coach of the bobsled department
until it was transferred to Khlebnikovo.
Now I come as a guest and as a coach,
I bring my guys. We are kindly provided
with sports fields, a gym for classes.
Once, twice a week we conduct training,
communicate very tightly with teachers
and management. I am always welcome
here, and I am glad to come here.
How do you think is the school
changing?
Yes, it is changing. For its existence,
some sports went away, came, but the
basic types remained: rhythmic gymnastics,
gymnastics. It used to be swimming,
fencing. Then came the badminton.
Specificity is changing, but most importantly,
there remains a training center
that allows to develop sports. There are
a lot of good guys, I watch how they perform
at Russian and international competitions.
Our graduates achieves high
results, and I think soon we will know the
new names of the winners.
1988 year. Calgary. You are the first
national winner in the history of the
Olympic Games in bobsleigh in the two.
To this add another bronze medal in the
four. But it turns out that for many years,
until 2006, we were not on the podium.
What is the reason for this?
First of all, it’s because of the change
in the country itself and attitude to sport,
lack of funding. Surely, this left an imprint
not only on sports and specifically on
bobsleigh, but also on sports infrastructure.
Old sports facilities were in poor
condition, nothing new was built. There
was no place to prepare, underfunding.
Previously, out of 365 days in the year
290 days we were at centralized training
camps, but in the 90s we could not
afford to be at training camps for two or
three months. Plus, our sport is primarily
associated with technology, expensive
equipment, with its production. We
performed on our domestic bobs, and
this production after the collapse of the
USSR remained in Latvia.
Therefore, we technically had to catch
up with everyone, but all the post-Soviet
time we performed on old bobs, which
were purchased in the late 80s. In the
2000s, financing appeared, they began
to buy bobs abroad, but, again, who will
sell us the best copies? Step by step we
began to go up, and only in 2006 were
able to break into the Olympic troika. It
took more than 15 years to regain the
lost position. We have regularly confirmed
and confirm our development in
the world, we are fighting for prizes at
the World Championships, Europe and
the Olympic Games.
The Olympic Games in Sochi are a
vivid example of this, when the whole
country, with a common front in all
directions, was preparing for these
Olympic Games. National idea. The result
is a victory ...
You know, first of all, of course, this
is patriotism and the belief that we can
do this. The athletes had no doubt. I can
even say more, since I participated in
the construction and acceptance of the
track, I was the technical director of the
federation from the very beginning to
the very end, until acceptance by the
international federation, I remember
and know all the details. The progress
of each construction site, training for
each sport were monitored and controlled
daily. We were able to build all
the Olympic facilities from the beginning
on time.
SPORTS IN FACES
I GROW UP WITH GUYS. IT GIVES ME PLEASURE.
AND WHEN WORK IS A PLEASURE, YOU DON’T FEEL TIRED
OF THAT TENSION, WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW SOMETHING
OR DOUBT SOMETHING.
And this is not a reconstruction of old
ones, but there are new big objects that
still work. The most important task for
me, as a representative of the federation,
was to keep our facility alive and not to
close after the Olympics, let it work for
many years to develop our sport. That’s
why it had to be done thoroughly, not
for a year or two.
All the innovations that existed at that
time were applied in the construction of
the Olympic bobsleigh track, because
without good equipment, no track will
be able to host international competitions.
The only thing is that we did not have
time to take advantage of “our field”, as
they say, to test the track 2, 3 months earlier
than others. As a result, we got access
to the track almost simultaneously with
everyone. At the 1988 Olympics in Calgary,
I had official training runs of 12, a
maximum of 18, and Canadians had 100-
200 runs. We expected that we would
have a five-fold advantage in the runs in
Sochi, and we could not do this. Moreover,
for safety reasons, opportunities for
foreign athletes were expanded up to 40
coastlines. Circumstances equalized our
bobsledders with rivals, so this victory is
more valuable to us.
What do you think, how can you
prepare for the next Olympic Games?
All for the sake of victory?
As far as I remember, our country is always
like that. We harness for a long time,
but we drive quickly (laughs). We have a
sense of responsibility, perseverance and
professionalism. When you have a shortage
of bases, equipment, and yet you
manage to buy something and supply
the national team for responsible competitions,
at the last moment, you will get
out of yourself, but show the results that
allow you to stand on the podium.
Are difficulties pushing us?
Surely, as always. We cannot plan
calmly. This is in the Russian character.
That’s what I wanted to talk about. This
is our mentality.
Is Bobsleigh for young people? Or
should an athlete “mature” well in order
to start to show good results?
Mature. This sport, like any other,
does not allow you to come immediately
and show the result on the track.
Previously, they began to study at the
age of 18. Thanks to the first youth
Olympic Games that took place in 2012,
the age from which they are allowed to
practice was lowered. We had to prove
for a very long time that young international
competitions have been held
since the age of 15, buy we do not have
a single bobsledding school. Today it
is allowed to practice skeleton from 13
years old, bobsledding – from 14 years
old. Now we can open bobsleigh departments
in any sports school. The
schools themselves would have a desire
and there would be enough funding for
development.
What is the Olympic reserve preparation
based on? Do we have a wide
network of sports schools where bobsled
is cultivated?
Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Moscow, Oryol,
Krasnodar and Ufa. That’s all. These are
the main centers where bobsleigh is
developing. From other regions we, of
course, try to attract promising guys,
if we find them. In Moscow, except for
the Vorobevy Gory and Khlebnikovo
schools, there are no bobsleigh departments.
Does the availability of material resources
affect this?
Most likely.
What about territorial affiliation,
climatic conditions?
No, I would say no. Why? Because
there are no bases and routes in any
region, except for the Olympic route in
Sochi.
And what about Paramonovo?
In Paramonovo, the highway was
mothballed before the start of major
repairs. There is only one starting ice
flyover. This helps a lot in the off-season
to work out the landing and starting acceleration.
This is a big advantage, especially
since it is ice.
We have been using it since July,
and when we arrive on the track in
Sochi, landing and everything else do
not play a big role for us, guys by this
time, and I’m talking about newcomers,
have an idea, perform this element
well and are ready to go along
the track.
SPORTS IN FACES
Bobsleigh is a winter sport. What
is the intensity of the competitive
calendar? After all, it is necessary to
catch everything in a short winter, to
conduct many different competitions.
Does bobsleigh have a busy schedule,
a difficult schedule? And what do the
guys do in the summer?
Very tight. We leave for the first starts
in November and finish closer to April.
During this period, all starts are held. It
turns out that we are preparing for competitions,
we manage to get home only
for 2-3 days,a maximum of a week.
The main preparatory base is laid
during the summer, precisely with the
expectation that it will be needed until
March.
Do young athletes have the same
calendar as adults?
For children, the season ends a month
earlier, in January-February.
All the same? Championship of the
region, championship of Russia?
To conduct the championship of
the region, we have lack of funding. We
have already forgot when we held the
Moscow Championship on the track. We
carry out on the overpass, but not on the
track. In other regions, it’s even worse.
We still have money for the training
camp, just at the training camp we look
at and check the young guys for the season
and as a part of the training camp we
can hold open championships, for example,
in Moscow, Ufa, and the Krasnodar
ANY ATHLETE IS SUPERSTITIOUS. NOT IN VAIN DO WE SURROUND
OURSELVES WITH TALISMANS, RITUALS, HABITS, SIGNS.
WHAT IS THIS FOR? ALSO FOR GOOD LUCK.
AND LUCKY IS ALWAYS THE STRONGEST!
Territory. We gather in 2-3 regions, agree
with judges, coaches, include the event
on the calendar and, without spending
additional funding, conduct it.
So, do young athletes need to open
the doors of the championships?
Yes, definitely, you need to open all
doors for young athletes, in groups, add
and expand the calendar.
You are an athlete, a successful athlete,
have achieved the highest award
in your life that can be – the Olympic
gold medal. Looking back today, can
you say what’s easier: pushing a bob
or educating future champions?
I can say, there is more responsibility
now, but it was harder then. Why then,
because there were no experts in bobsleigh,
I trained on my own. In 1989,
when I was a member of the USSR national
team, I already had 2 students,
the winners of the world championship.
That is, when I was still speaking myself,
I had 2 “international” students. Therefore,
my transition from an athlete to a
coach turned out to be very smooth. I
grow up with guys. It gives me pleasure.
And when work is a pleasure, you don’t
feel tired of that tension, when you don’t
know something or doubt something.
Once, one of the leaders of our bobsleigh
team said: “Training is hard work, and
competition is a holiday.” I have the opposite
opinion. When you take a young boy,
and he is growing in front of your eyes, he
is showing better and better results with
each training session, you come to the
same training session, see this, and this is
a holiday. Competition is work, because
it is experience, excitement, danger. Bobsleigh
is an extreme sport, somewhere
the concentration absorbs the athlete,
SPORTS IN FACES
and when mistakes come up, the worries
for the guys increase.
There is an opinion that athletes’
children have only one road – to
sports. Is your child in bobsleigh?
Yes it is. My son Artem, he recently
turned 20 years old, became the winner
of the Russian Championship in two age
categories up to 21 and up to 23 years.
He has a chance if he takes seriously
what he is doing. Making and persuading
is not mine. My job as a coach, as a
father is to guide so he understands that
he is responsible for everything, and for
the result, and for his future life. I just
need to tell him on time what to look for
so as not to lose time. Sport, after all, is
that short period of an athlete’s life that,
due to injuries, can become even shorter.
Injuries occur for various reasons –
failure to perform loads, failure to safety
regulations. Injury can knock out for a
season or two. It’s always hard to catch
up, and while you’re catching up, it may
happen that it’s time to finish the sport.
Did Artem chose bobsleigh himself?
Yes, although before he was involved
in basketball, played in different teams,
and won prizes. He said he wanted to do
IT IS LABOR, TALENT, COACH. THE COMBINATION
OF THESE THREE QUALITIES ALLOWS YOU TO ACHIEVE GREAT
HEIGHTS. ONE COMPLEMENTS THE OTHER,
AND YOU WON’T THROW ANYTHING AWAY.
bobsledding. We started training with
him, six months later he was tested for
the first youth Olympic games of 2012 in
bobsled and skeleton. Passed the selection
and skeleton, and bobsled.
We refused to perform in a skeleton
at games in favor of a bobsled. But the
circumstances were not in our favor. For
objective reasons, Artyom did not get
on the first exit. As a result, he could not
participate in the Games. Young children
cannot be prepared for competitions
messy. They ride on the same tracks as
adults, from the same height, the distance
is not shortened. They do not yet have a
sense of track. When I came to bobsleigh,
for the first two years I didn’t understand
what turn I was on, although we were sitting
upright, and I could see all the way
with lateral vision. I was lost. Only to the
third year I learned to feel the track in the
smallest detail. When the bob design began
to allow the accelerator to almost lie
behind the pilot for better streamlining
and stability, then I felt all the tracks, as
they say, with the spinal cord, even better
than the pilot. He saw everything with his
eyes, and I felt with my back and could tell
at the finish what mistake we made and
where. Everything comes with time, with
experience. The more practice, the better.
What is your formula for success?
Talent, luck and work?
It is labor, talent, coach. The combination
of these three qualities allows you
to achieve great heights. One complements
the other, and you won’t throw
anything away.
Is there good luck too?
Any athlete is superstitious. Not in
vain do we surround ourselves with talismans,
rituals, habits, signs. What is this
for? Also for good luck. And lucky is always
the strongest!
GOGI KOGUASHVILI:
“YES, I SLOGGED AND SLOGGED,
TO BECOME A CHAMPION...”
OLYMPIC RESERVE REFERENCE (NOTE): Gogi
Koguashvili – bronze medalist Olympic Games
1992, the head coach of the Russian Greco-Roman
wrestling team.
Gogi Murmanovich, do you remember
yourself as a junior, how did you
fight?
Of course, I remember my first steps,
and always worried when I lost, worked
hard and hard to perform better in the
next competitions.
What was the daily routine, what
had to be done?
Frankly, at the beginning of my career,
I did not understand the taste of training.
I tried it at a young age, and I wanted to
train day and night. Without training, I
could not imagine my life. Training provides
me with energy and a desire to live.
Surely, everything was planned for
me: of course get up early in the morning,
do exercises. Then – school. After
school, I definitely went to training.
Then I came home, did homework. After
school, I arranged myself an additional
training. I can say that as a teenager,
as a junior, I made such a base of
physical and functional training that it
was enough for a long time. As they say,
talents come and go, and workaholics
remain. I did not stand out for my technology,
I did not have any fantastic abilities,
I stood out for my hard work. Today,
as a coach of the Russian national
team, I draw parallels and look at young
people. Many of the guys are talented,
but as a rule, they leave, but there are
those who train a lot, who spend days
and nights in the gym. They, according
to their work, then become world
champions, Olympic champions.
The Russian national team in different
styles of wrestling is currently
booming in the world. Do we have
young athletes on the way?
Do we have a long bench of reserve?
Firstly, I want to say that we have a
continuity, if we are talking about martial
arts: free-style, Greco-Roman ... It
started from the Soviet Union. We were
IN ADDITION TO EXHAUSTING WORKOUTS,
YOU MUST DEFINITELY STUDY!
NO MATTER HOW GOOD A FIGHTER, AN ILLITERATE,
“WITHOUT A QUICK MIND” NO ONE NEEDS HIM.
always the first. The traditions of the Soviet
wrestling school were adopted by
the Russian school. We try not to lower
the high level raised by Soviet wrestlers.
Only victories are expected from us. We
try to ensure that our teams always win.
As for the «bench» ... It all starts with
childhood, youth, junior age. If we did
not have competent coaches working
with every age, we would not have a
reserve for the main national teams.
This vertical is strictly observed by us,
so the guys come to the national teams
prepared.
What role do schools of the Olympic
reserve play in preparing the reserve
for national teams?
I did not study in such a school. I was
born and raised in Georgia. But I always
dreamed of getting into a school
where there is everything, without
leaving the territory. A place where you
can study and train in one place. This is
a very big advantage. Such institutions
have a great future. From these schools
arise true team leaders and Olympic
champions.
What would you wish young athletes?
Hard work, patience and, as a result,
endurance. In addition to exhausting
workouts, you must definitely study! No
matter how good a fighter, an illiterate,
“without a quick mind” no one needs
him.
I do not get tired of repeating to
young athletes that a profession is necessary
in life. My motto is: “Study! Fight!
Make the world around you better! ”
“SINCE CHILDHOOD, I DREAMED
OF BEINGA HOCKEY PLAYER, TO PLAY,
FOR SOME REASON, HOCKEY,
AND MY DREAM HAS COME TRUE”
OLYMPIC RESERVE REFERENCE (NOTE):
Alexey Yashin – world champion, silver and bronze
medalist of the Olympic Games.
SPORTS IN FACES
Alexey, you are world champion,
two times Olympic medalist. Did you
manage to realize yourself in hockey?
Have you achieved everything you
wanted?
I am not an Olympic champion, not
a Stanley Cup holder, and, of course, I
wanted to win it. But for me, when I became
a professional hockey player, the
most important thing was to embody
myself as a hockey player, that is, play
as well as possible, embody myself in
the profession. When you enter a profession,
you realize that a lot does not
depend on you. For example, you get
into the strongest team and due to the
level of the team you can achieve many
things. In Russian, Soviet hockey you had
to prove yourself that you are a valuable
player of the CSKA team, and your
team, of course, will not win by itself, but
is fighting for the highest places, its task
is to win. As for North America, there is
a different principle. It does not always
depend on you which team to play. I
played for those teams that believed
that I can help them bring the team to
the maximum result. I have played for
I PLAYED FOR THOSE TEAMS THAT BELIEVED THAT
I CAN HELP THEM BRING THE TEAM TO THE MAXIMUM RESULT.
I HAVE PLAYED FOR ALMOST 25 YEARS. I THINK THIS IS A GREAT
CAREER. ACCORDING TO THE RESULTS, OF COURSE,
I WANTED TO WIN CERTAIN TROPHIES, BUT I WILL NOT SUCCEED,
MAYBE THE NEXT GENERATION OF HOCKEY PLAYERS WILL SUCCEED.
almost 25 years. I think this is a great career.
According to the results, of course, I
wanted to win certain trophies, but I will
not succeed, maybe the next generation
of hockey players will succeed.
You are a hockey player of the Soviet
school. You started, like many at
that time, in the yard. Did you manage
to take part in Anatoly Tarasov’s
Golden Puck? Did you go through this
school, like many of our hockey players,
Vyacheslav Fetisov, Valery Kharlamov,
Vladimir Krutov, Igor Larionov,
Zinetula Bilyaletdinov and others?
Once, being a pupil of a sports school,
I played for the yard team «Friendship»
of the mining and metallurgical plant of
the city of Kachkanar, which is located in
the north of the Sverdlovsk region. But
this is only one episode of the game in
the Golden Puck system. I, like everyone
you listed, and many of our other Soviet
hockey players, started playing hockey
in the yard with my friends. First, on felt
boots, then on skates, a ball, a puck,
everything that was at hand was used.
Then we got a coach and social activist
Utkin Vladimir Ivanovich, who, by the
way, worked at the Ural Academy of Sciences,
and coached our yard team in his
free time. It was he who recommended
me the children’s sports school of the
Olympic reserve “Spartakovets”, the main
coach of which for many years was Dmitry
Borisovich Kudryavtsev. Nikolai Khabibulin,
a player of the National Hockey
League, left this school, several guys
played at a very good level in the team
of top league masters in Avtomobilist.
Do you follow your school’s progress?
Not as often as we would like. Last
year, the school turned 60 years old, and
I took part with pleasure in anniversary
events and a gala match. There were a
lot of hockey veterans, guys with whom I
started playing, with whom then I played
in the team of masters. The holiday
turned out cool. I try to follow the success
of the Avtomobilist team, there play
a lot of students from the Spartakovets
children’s sports school.
If we make a comparison between
Soviet hockey and American, how are
young people growing there? Is there
a similar system of children’s sports
schools or hockey leagues?
Yes there is. Our systems are very
similar in many ways. And the children
are almost all the same. The difference is
that there you have to pay for everything.
Parents cooperate their financial efforts
so that children have an opportunity to
play on ice. In children’s hockey we have
I WANTED TO HAVE PEOPLE WHO CAME
TO OUR WORKSHOP TO TAKE SKILLS AND BE ABLE
TO ORGANIZE SUCH MINI-SCHOOLS IN THEIR COURTYARDS.
a serious selection in sports schools. And,
getting into a sports school, the child
begins to grow in the system. From the
beginning we prepare the hockey player
more professionally. The number of people
engaged in hockey overseas is bigger.
In the existing system, there is more natural
selection, that is, the strongest survive.
Since childhood, they were brought up
this way, not only in hockey, but also in
life, many receive education from outside,
not only at school, but also independently
study in some master classes, independently
learn tack-offs, and conduct
individual work by video materials. When
there is a specific task, aspiration: I want
to become a star, all possible resources
are used to do this. Then they try to prove
themselves already in the team and win
the competition. Here is an approach. We
need to notice a talented boy, to develop
him, correct and so on. The strongest wins
among them. They get used to this from
childhood. This helps them in life, even if
they don’t play hockey. You have to win
the competition in order to get a job and
make living.
How are national teams overseas
formed?
Overseas there is also a system of
competitions, for example, the championships
in Ottawa, Montreal, various
leagues in Ontario, Quebec, Western.
Teams play among themselves, then go
to the national championship. In competitions,
everyone can prove himself. So
the teams are equipped. I do not see a
significant difference in the competitive
moments themselves. Teams are divided
into regions, they play among themselves,
then the best players are selected
from them for national teams.
Having finished your sports career,
do you continue to play hockey?
It happens. I can play with veterans in
gala matches. In some of the leagues, for example,
the league of veterans, I do not play.
SPORTS IN FACES
And what about the night league?
The night one is a non-professional
league, I just can’t play there. Only nonprofessional
players play there.
Professionals are not allowed to enter
this league?
Yes, this is a purely non-professional
league that promotes hockey among the
non-professional hockey community. It
is very cool that we have many fans and
hockey fans who want to play in their
free time. They created such a league,
and this, I think, is very cool.
You conduct master classes. What
brings you to Red Square? Who do you
take as students?
I had free time, and the idea came by
itself. I shared it with Mikhail Ernestovich
Kusnirovich. He was pleased to provide
my brother and I with an ice rink; sponsors
were found. Everyone, regardless of
age and ability to ride, boys, girls, grandparents,
adults, anyone who signed up,
comes on a day off to Red Square for
an hour-long master class. The interest
is that the exercises we give can be
used at any age, at any level. Are you a
professional player or unprofessional – it
does not play any role. A lot of exercises
can be seen before the start of the National
Hockey League match in a roll performed
by hockey stars: Ovechkin, Malkin,
Crosby, Tavares. It happens that we
put people on skates. Quietly, through
preparing exercises. This was the idea of
master classes, the idea of yard hockey. I
wanted to have people who came to our
workshop to take skills and be able to organize
such mini-schools in their courtyards.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the
opportunity to travel around Moscow,
around the country, look into each yard
and conduct classes there. And on Saturday
and Sunday I with pleasure conduct
such master classes for everyone.
Moscow is actively developing today,
luxury sports facilities are being
built. Olympic champions get down
to business and head sports schools
of their own name. Did you have a desire
to do coaching, specifically with
children? Organize, for example, your
school?
School is either you work with children,
or you sit in the director’s chair and
supervise the work of others. I like life
communication, help in working with
children, adults. This is my hobby, I like
communication for pleasure. School
– this is a completely different task, another
story is to provide the process with
electricity, ice, salaries. All this takes a
decent amount of time, which I currently
simply don’t have, so I do what I like. I do
it with pleasure.
What would you wish for young
athletes?
You can wish a lot. The first is, of
course, so that every hockey player’s
dream, no matter whether it is a girl or a
boy, comes true. I think everyone dreams
of becoming great hockey player, playing
at the highest level in the Continental
Hockey League, the National Hockey
League. Since childhood, I dreamed of
being a hockey player, playing hockey,
and my dream came true. My story began
from the court itself, with the very
strong support of my parents, who were
a real example for me. Mom played volleyball
at a very high level in the Sverdlovsk
«Uralochka». Dad – in handball in
the team of the first league Kalininets.
I wish the children to go their own
way with the least possible injuries, disappointments.
Any trauma, any difficult
situation, if you overcome it, makes you
stronger. If you do not overcome it, then
end with hockey and do something else.
In this regard, sport is quite unpredictable,
you never know whether you can
overcome the next test or not. And, of
course, health.
Here are three basic wishes. The first
is luck. It is impossible without luck, no
matter how you exercise. You need to
get to the right coach, to the right team,
to score the right goal at the right time
so that you are noticed. The second –
that the dream to reach those peaks you
set for yourself has come true. Well, the
third, so that all this would be with minimal
injuries and troubles. It will not be
easy anyway, but let everything go the
way you want!
ANATOLY MIKHAKHANOV –
AURORA SATOSHI –
ABOUT HIMSELF,
ABOUT SUMO, ABOUT JAPAN
OLYMPIC RESERVE REFERENCE (NOTE):
Anatoly Mikhakhanov – the first professional
sumoist of Russian origin who made a real
sensation in Japan.
“They don’t shoot an arrow into a
smiling face”, “Give a way to the madmen”,
“A person lying in bed doesn’t
stumble” – we heard these Japanese
wisdom from Anatoly Mikhakhanov
several times during the conversation.
For more than 18 years, Anatoly lived,
trained and fought in Japan. He was recognized
as the heaviest wrestler with a
weight of 293 kg – even in sumo this is
a record! In 2018, Anatoly Mikhakhanov
stopped his career as a sumo wrestler,
and now lives in Russia.
Anatoly, at the age of 16 you first
came to Japan, and having passed
all the tests, you entered one of the
strongest sumo schools, thereby making
a sensation. Was it easy for you to
adapt to everything new: language,
culture, athletes with whom you
worked every day?
On the one hand, it was a very interesting
period. I studied a new culture,
rules and canons of Eastern life, the
specifics of the relationship between
the coach and the athlete, I studied the
language. I went always and everywhere
with a notebook where I wrote down
new words. Later, the language began
to be mastered somehow by itself, it was
simply absorbed. There were some difficulties
with Russian words. On the other
hand, it was a difficult way, because even
after success came, it was necessary to
prove the right to the title again and
again.
Sumo is a fairly closed world. Tell us
a little about this sport.
At first glance, the rules are extremely
simple, two huge sumo wrestlers compete
in sumo wrestling, held in a tightly
packed earthy ring, of which the winner
is the one who pushes the opponent out
of the ring or makes him touch the floor
with any part of the body. However, in
this sport there are complex rules and
rituals, which makes it an unforgettable
sight. Punches, punches in the eyes,
grabs by hair, ears, nose, asphyxi grabs
are prohibited. It is interesting that
blows are allowed with the open part of
your hand, which is why even knockouts
can be seen at competitions.
Are there any notable sumo features
that many don’t know about?
Well, for example, athletes are engaged
in specialized schools, in which
are strict discipline reigns: the junior
athletes in the division must fulfill the
instructions of the elders. The most successful
sumo wrestlers are in a privileged
position. It is also interesting that the
competition judges put on the robes of
14th century court robes. Competitions
are held with a special spiritual component,
this energy has a strong effect on
visitors.
Sumo wrestlers are dressed only in
a belt that is wrapped around the athlete’s
waist and between his legs, and
the end of the belt is hidden behind his
back (the length of the belt is 9 meters).
How well it is wound matters, because
an athlete can be disqualified if his belt
is loosened during the bout. Some more
interesting facts: girls are forbidden to
climb the platform; real sumotori can be
recognized by smell – their pigtails are
smeared with special oil that exudes a
sweetish aroma. There is still a belief: if
a sumoist takes a baby in his arms or just
pats him on the head, he will certainly
grow up healthy, strong, happy and rich.
But the myth that sumotori is a terrible
glutton I want to dispel: we only eat
twice a day, in the diet are a lot of rice,
vegetables, fish, meat, sashimi.
SPORTS IN FACES
It is believed that sumo is the most
popular sport in Japan. This is true?
What other sports are popular in Japan?
Of course, sumo comes first. This
is a traditional ancient sport, which is
considered to be elite, it is practiced in
families from generation to generation.
Baseball, football, judo, karate, aikido,
skiing are also very popular in the country.
Baseball, by the way, is so popular in
Japan that many Japanese fans are surprised
to hear that Americans consider it
their «national» sport.
At what age do children begin to
practice in Japan? What are the traditions
in raising children?
Children begin to study from a very
young age, from the age of three. In general,
there are three periods in raising
children: God, Slave, Equal. This means
that until the age of 5 the child is allowed
everything, from 5 to 15 the child
is brought up in strictness and absolute
obedience, and only from the age of 15
he acquires the status of a person equal
to an adult. As for family relations, a clear
hierarchy of relations and subordination
is still widespread. The eldest child
is considered the main one in the family,
and this does not leave the child’s mind,
and gives him, along with the rights, duties
and responsibilities.
As for sports, starting from the seventh
grade (first grade of the «middle
school»), everyone should choose a
sports school group. When meeting Japanese
people often associate the image
of a person with a sport.
Do the Japanese consider themselves
a sports nation?
Of course, professional sport is very
developed in Japan, we see this according
to the results of the national
team during the Olympic Games, and
a healthy lifestyle is an integral part of
Japanese culture. Japanese long living is
precisely what is due to this. People exercise
in parks everywhere, both in large
and small cities. There is an annual Sports
and Health Day, the purpose of which is
to promote a healthy lifestyle and love of
sport. And, of course, the whole country
is preparing to host the Summer Olympic
and Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
What did this country teach you?
In Japanese, there is the word «gaman»
– it means «patience.» This is primarily
taught by Eastern wisdom and life
in the Land of the Rising Sun. In Russia
they say «Patience and labor will grind
everything.» They also say: «Lying in bed
does not stumble.» It is always necessary
to remember and move forward.
OLGA KAPRANOVA:
“THE MORE TALENTED A PERSON IS,
THE MORE HE NEEDS TO WORK”
OLYMPIC RESERVE REFERENCE (NOTE):
Olga Kapranova, 10-time world champion
in rhythmic gymnastics.
Olga, you came to gymnastics when
you were 7 years old. By today’s standards,
it’s very late!
It was probably too late at that time.
Before gymnastics, I tried ballet, choreography,
dancing, music and swimming.
I was kicked out of these five sections,
saying that I had no talent. I came to
gymnastics with my elder sister Katya,
and they did not expel me, finally recognizing
me as a talented child.
In one of the interviews you said
that you were lucky 10 times.
Yes, I was.
Today, from the height of your acquired
sports, coaching and directorial
experience, can you tell what is the
secret of success, what are the components
of a victory?
Talent must be worked out. Any talent
must be worked out, and the more talented
a person is, the more he needs to
work. The secret of success is simple: you
have to work honestly so that there are
no «dirty tails.» We were once taught this
by Irina Aleksandrovna Viner-Usmanova,
and since then it has been our rule in life.
After finishing your career, did you
think to stay in sports? Maybe there
were other plans?
I had a rather interesting, but difficult
sports fate. My fault is my, in some ways,
complex nature. It helped me to achieve
success, but nevertheless delivered a lot
of troubles to my coach. Now I recall that
during the training I did not behave correctly
as an athlete, I did not work out
good enough. That is why at one time I
suffered from series of fails that forced me
to end my career. I performed at my last
World Cup in Tokyo and, having finished
the carpet exercise, I realized that I would
not return to rhythmic gymnastics. And
so it happened. Any professional athlete
finishes the sport hard. Of course, then
you see dreams, and I want to return, but
everything must be done on time.
Have you tried yourself as a coach?
Yes, I trained children. After finishing
my sports career, I had great ambitions
and desire to work. My sister worked for
a long time at the Olympic Training Center
of Irina Viner-Usmanova, where she received
great experience. This tandem led
us to open our commercial sports club,
Olga Kapranova’s School. I worked as a
coach in it.
You lead the capital’s sports school
of the Olympic reserve. Somehow,
you are a record holder: at 24 you became
the youngest director of a sports
school in Moscow. Does the experience
that you gained on the carpet
help you to work with children?
The most valuable thing in our life
is a negative experience. Only through
failures, falls, and failures that we gain
wisdom and knowledge to move on. I
remember all my failures, all my mistakes
and even all the mistakes in my work,
starting from the moment when I was 24
years old when at first time I went into
the office of the director of the Olympic
Sports School and sat down at the table.
I’m not embarrassed it or ashamed, I am
grateful for this, because it gives me a
chance not to repeat mistakes and become
better.
What do you teach young athletes?
How do you motivate to study?
First of all, I want them not to be
afraid. For me, the main indicator is fear.
36 OLYMPIC RESERVE
1/2019

SPORTS IN FACES
Fear interferes with any business and any
athlete. Therefore, I want to teach them
to love their job and not be afraid. Do
not be afraid of failure, do not be afraid
to lose, do not be afraid not to make real
the expectations of parents. This is very
important for children. They should love
their job and perform with joy.
You’re a sportswoman, 10-time
world champion, coach. Are you also
a judge?
Yes, of the international category!
So you have the right to judge international
competitions! When you
judge international competitions involving
Russian athletes, how difficult
is it to remain objective?
All judges are objective. We have the
oath of judges, which we must know by
heart. Judging objectivity is the most important
thing.
When we look biasedly at girls: both
at small, and at adults, and at the senior,
and at the junior, we render them a disservice.
It’s better to give the mark they
deserve, point the girl and the coach to
a mistake, and in the future this will give
her the right to correct the mistake, to
win larger competitions. But our Russian
girls are still the best! I say it as a judge, as
a coach, as a gymnast.
Let’s talk about the educational
system of young athletes. You’ve told
about a commercial club. They have
a net around the country. And there
are state sports schools. There are
plenty of them too. Who has a chance
to get into the national teams of Russia?
Does the girl who studies at the
club for money, for example, Olga
Kapranova or Yulia Barsukova, have
a chance to get into the Russian national
team?
Of course, she has. Our beloved, famous
and most talented Alina Kabaeva
started from a sports club. To become
a champion, it is necessary to have several
factors, but also, of course, talent. A
talented girl must meet with a talented
coach, together they must work hard.
But the Olympic gold medal is one and,
of course, someone will get it. You have
to be the best in all categories, and the
victory will come!
The Championship of Russia, Europe
and the World in rhythmic gymnastics
is coming. Is the competition
calendar full? Do girls have enough
competitive practice?
Yes, it’s a busy calendar. In Russian national
team, the bench is never empty.
Thanks God! Our country is big, there are
a lot of talented children and the selection
system is competently built. The calendar
is large, there are many talented
children, and if there were even more
competitions, then we would also go to
them and bring gold medals!
Now the athletes are preparing for
the Russian Championship. You yourself
have repeatedly prepared for the
competition. Does winning the Russian
Championship guarantee participation
in the European Championship,
or is the selection system more
complicated?
The selection system works on a
sporting basis. Of course, the first 2 winners,
since only two athletes represent
the country at the World and European
Championships, have a head start, but
3rd and 4th place athletes are also being
prepared, because anything can happen
in sports.
It turns out that no matter how
many times you are a world champion,
a European champion, you
are obliged to perform at the Russian
Championship and get into the
double.
Of course, every time you have to win
your place on the podium. In life, in the
same way, every time you have to prove
your place in life.
And finally, Moscow will soon accept
...
World Championship in rhythmic
gymnastics among juniors! We’re glad!
We were waiting for this event! We are
glad that it will be held in Moscow!
This is a great motivation for children.
They have a lot of competitions now,
and everything is in their hands. Please
train, obey the trainer, cultivate your
character, and you can achieve everything!
What new goals does Olga Kapranova
set for herself?
My dream is to write a dissertation.
Studying at the RSSU, I wrote it, but,
frankly, I didn’t finish it. I passed the candidate
minimum, maybe I didn’t have
the patience, knowledge or experience
to get the title. But I will do it for sure!
Nikita, probably, every person who
monitors your progress and cheers
you at the competitions wants to hear
from you what you experienced when
you stood on the Olympic podium in
Rio de Janeiro.
I was proud of the country, for what
we did. When we went to the Olympic
opportunity to take second place, we
counted on a maximum of third, so for
us it was a good result.
In a team, does the spirit of rivalry
prevail over the spirit of victory?
The spirit of competition must be in
any team, otherwise the team will not be
strong.
With what three words could you describe
your path to the Olympic medal?
GYMNASTICS IS THE BASIS,
ANY CHILD SHOULD INITIALLY DO GYMNASTICS,
AND THEN THE SPORT THAT HE WILL LIKE.
It is hard to say. Perhaps these are
nerves, failures and ... good luck.
From the outside it seems that your
favorite equipment is a vault and floor
exercises. If so, then what is the reason?
I like to jump, I have it since childhood.
I liked jumping above garages as
a child. The trainer told me: «You need to
do gymnastics, and you jump through
the garages.»
Can you imagine yourself in another
sport? Are you satisfied that life has
connected you with gymnastics?
Yes, 100%! I tried to engage in many
sports, but it is this sport that I am more
suitable. My position is: gymnastics is the
basis, any child should initially do gymnastics,
and then the sport that he will
like.
Was there a moment in your life
when you wanted to quit and quit
sports? If there was, what was the motivation
for moving forward?
In different periods of life were different
ways. When I was small, injuries
happened, I wanted to quit sports, then
I looked at the guys from my team, I
noticed that they had more desire and
more results, well, and suddenly I had the
strength to move forward. And, for example,
after the Olympic Games, when I
broke my leg, I lost the desire to continue
to training, to the system and
organization of life and sports. I would
really like to know how his day is distributed,
how he achieves results in everyday
life. Perhaps this would help me in
my life and in achieving my goals.
If you could meet a person who
lives or has ever lived on our planet,
then who would it be?
I would like to meet my grandfather,
whom I have never seen. My father talks
a lot about him.
In your opinion, what is your most
important sports quality helping you
to achieve goals?
Courage, it seems to me. I often take
risks, try something new.
What is your biggest flaw, if any?
I love to eat, this is my biggest flaw.
Already now I am worried that at the end
I WAS LUCKY, I ENDED UP A GOOD SCHOOL,
IN WHICH EVERYTHING IS BALANCED, STUDY
AND TRAINING IN ONE PLACE, YOU CAN HAVE LUNCH
AND RELAX IN A BIG BREAK, I WAS VERY LUCKY.
PROBABLY, IN NO COUNTRY THERE IS SUCH A SCHOOL AS OURS.
of my sports career I will dramatically
gain weight.
You travel a lot around the world.
In which country would you like to
live if you had the opportunity to
choose?
In Russia, and it is the city of Moscow.
Doesn’t matter what choice would be.
Your huge photo adorns of Olympic
Reserve No. 1, and when the children
pass it by, they look and think that
someday their photograph will adorn
the walls of our school. Was it difficult
for you to combine sport and study?
It was hard, but I’m happy that I studied.
I confess that I did not like to take
exams. I was lucky, I ended up a good
school, in which everything is balanced,
study and training in one place, you can
have lunch and relax in a big break, I was
very lucky. Probably, in no country there
is such a school as ours.
What is the most frequently asked
question during an interview?
This is surprising, but very often they ask
how I got to gymnastics. Although it seems
to me that it is obvious that at the age of
three the child is unlikely to determine a
sport for himself. It happened to me, my
mom brought me to the sports section.
And I made the right choice, I think.
Nikita, what are your immediate
plans and what is your goal for 2019?
At the end of each year, I set myself
100 goals for next year, and at the end of
the year I count how many goals I have
achieved. Last year, I completed 65 out of
100 goals. I was very pleased with this result.
This, in principle, is a very good method
of planning and self-improvement. I always
have something to do. Fulfilled one
goal, heading for another. In general, the
main goal for this year is to improve my
skills and become better than I was.
KONSTANTIN DZGOEV
OLYMPIC RESERVE REFERENCE (NOTE):
Konstantin Dzgoev – The President of the Boxing
Federation of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania,
vice president of the Amateur Federation Boxing In
The North Caucasus Federal District.
You lead the Boxing Federation of
the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
For how long and how did you come to
this post?
It all started 4 years ago. Our boxers,
trainers turned to me and asked for help.
In the region with boxing there were, if
not problems, then some difficulties. I
have a direct relationship to this sport, I
was engaged in boxing myself. Boxing is
very close and familiar to me. I’m also a
person, as they say, old-school. For me,
Homeland is not an empty word. Accordingly,
I wanted to do something
useful for my homeland and for athletes,
for children. There are no someone else’s
children, especially when it comes to
athletes. We are well aware of our situation
with sports. There are objective
reasons, there are questions for which
neither I nor anyone has an answer. However,
there are two options: lament and
sprinkle ash on your head or roll up your
sleeves and do something. I chose the
second one, and for 4 years now I have
been doing this. Of course, there are
some results. Of course, not everything
goes well, there is something to work on.
For this I came.
In one of the interviews, you said
that all the goals and objectives are
aimed at developing the young generation
of boxers, that you want to focus
on 13-14 year-old athletes, popularize
the sport in the republic so that
as many people as possible come to it.
Did you manage to move something?
Is the ice breaking?
I do not know how correct it will be
for me to answer this question. Probably
someone from the side should give
an objective assessment. My opinion is
that the ice has broken. I see that there
are results. At this age there are very
bright guys. In the future, I really hope
for this, they will turn out to be real athletes.
Moreover, I myself and the coaching
staff are attuned to the fact that
we must educate not only athletes. We
must educate citizens, and in our case
also gentlemen. By the way, ladies are
also engaged in boxing, so ladies and
gentlemen. Why? Because we very well
understand the area of our responsibility,
we understand that our sport is not
easy. The guys come to it with their fate,
and the boxer is considered an armed
man. Care must be taken to ensure that
these weapons are used only in the ring
and for the good, as they say, for their
intended purpose. I simply do not recommend
anyone to meet with a boxer
somewhere outside the ring. I take all
this very carefully and reverently, I try
to ensure that the coaching staff and
parents, and without them we do nothing,
also focused their attention on this.
There are successes that I am proud of,
still not fully understanding how this
happened. European Championship
Boxing 19-22 in Vladikavkaz, according
to estimates of the President of the
European Boxing Confederation Franco
Falcinelli, was held at a very high level.
SPORTS IN FACES
What difficulties did you encounter
during the preparation to the championship?
Wasn’t you afraid of failure?
In fact, I’m certainly an adventurer, but
not so much! The idea of holding a championship
did not arise spontaneously.
I attended the European Championship
as an athlete, and when I became
a functionary, I did it with the team. I
looked, analyzed the organization and
realized that we can do not worse. I
made the team I needed, and with this
team, with the support of the leadership
of the Amateur Boxing Federation in
the North Caucasus Federal District, we
made this tournament. Khalidov Sumaid
Aindievich turned out to be the person
who breathed life into this idea, as they
say, gave a start.
We understood perfectly that this is
the North Caucasus region, and there are
some difficulties.
There were certain prejudices that we
could not overcome, but, in any case, we
could move them. Now, looking back, I
think that in the future there will not be
such an attitude to holding major events.
Everyone saw how the championship
turned out, both our foreign guests and
the Minister of Sports Pavel Kolobkov
were with us and also appreciated the
work we’ve done. Of course, the region
is not simple, but we have shown that if
we do it together and everyone would
do his function, then everything will be
done, everything is real.
It’s very good when international
competitions come to the country.
Children watch such events, try to
be equal to the winners, young athletes
have idols. How to make international
sport visit as many regions
as possible?
We must set a goal and work. Do not
wait for someone to come, build something,
do something for you. My friends,
you can wait for a very long time. The
best option is to take and do it yourself.
I think that in the regions it is a matter
of regional authorities. In my example,
one can understand that there is nothing
complicated. At first, the local authorities
were cautious about the idea
of holding the European Championship,
but then they accepted the idea
and with joint efforts we held a championship
that not only our republic, but
the whole North Caucasian district can
be proud of. I think so.
How many children do boxing in
the republic? Is the number close to
hundreds, thousands? In what conditions
do they train? How is the training
system for young athletes built?
After things that did Murat Gassiev,
and does our team, of course, boxing is
popularized at a very high level. When
earlier we selected candidates from
those who did not go to wrestling, now
we are already choosing from those who
came to boxing. It is no secret that for
any sport there are certain parameters
by which children are selected. I can’t say
that they will all be champions, the main
thing is that we take the children off the
street, they do sports, and they have
some goals, they set goals. Promoting a
healthy lifestyle is very good.
I recall my childhood, when no one
left us unattended. In my childhood,
it was shameful not to participate in
any section and not to do sports. I do
not think that our Soviet past should
be crossed out. Work with children was
and remains necessary. Children are our
future, our tomorrow, and these are not
1/2019
just loud words. Today in Ossetia there
are 14 clubs and a sports school of the
Olympic reserve – this is the forge where
sports people are forged. Of course, it is
necessary to expand it so that children
do not spend much time on the road
and prepare a young generation of trainers.
The coaching staff has already grown
old. We treat our trainers with care, try to
support them, but at the same time we
are growing a young generation of specialists
who are already joining the work,
seeing that their help is needed. I think
that the training system and problems in
all regions are more or less similar.
It turns out, it’s so for objective reasons?
First of all, as the Americans say,
«whatever you say, it’s about money.»
Indeed, funding is virtually nonexistent.
I would not want to offend anyone, but,
nevertheless, 4 years in a row everything
comes from my pocket and the pocket of
my friends. I, as they say, took up the tug,
and now I don’t know what to do next.
Did you raise the bar high?
Raised the bar high, yes. The goals
and objectives are set seriously, and, of
course, they cannot cope without help.
Well, and then, in fact, this is not a matter
of one person. This is rather a serious
task that faces the leadership of the republic
as a subject of the Russian Federation.
What will happen next, we’ll see.
You trained in Moscow, led one of
the Russian national boxing teams.
Is there something in the capital to
take from the experience of educating
the Olympic reserve and transfer it to
your own soil?
That’s why it’s the capital, so that it
has something to take. Firstly, this is the
history of boxing, Moscow boxing. It is
42 OLYMPIC RESERVE
1/2019

SPORTS IN FACES
impossible to list all the honored people
who have contributed to the development
of boxing, I’m afraid to offend any
of them, so I say this: “All that I try to introduce
in the republic is all that I have
seen, including the history of my trainings.”
Plus, of course, there are new fairly
interesting techniques. With the Internet,
this is all available for study and practical
use. Everything that I do in the republic, I
saw myself, I do not do any experiments.
Everything is checked and gives a result.
Our youth is talented, interested,
ready to train and achieve success.
Does the nationwide training system
for the Olympic reserve work correctly,
without failures? Do we have a big
bench?
I am an optimist by nature. When
asked about a glass of water, I always say
that it is half full. And the youth in fact,
as we have it, is only our merit. It does
not grow by itself. It needs to be raised.
What is invested in it, will be the results.
I recall my childhood when they looked
at me and said: «We were different.» Now
is the time for me to say so. Some time
passes and those of whom I speak so
now will be speaking of others like that.
I can say about the generation change
in the national team that the bench is
big. According to current results, we can
already understand that we have gifted
children and the endless work.
Do we know how this happens by
our rivals? How is the sports reserve
prepared in Europe, Asia, America?
I DO EVERYTHING THAT IS NECESSARY FOR MY ATHLETES.
THEY ONLY NEED TO TRAIN, TO MIND A SPORTS REGIME
AND TO BE HUMANS, THIS IS IMPORTANT. OUR MAIN TASK IS STILL
TO EDUCATE A PERSON WHO IS NOT ONLY A CHAMPION,
BUT ALSO A PATRIOT, A CITIZEN, AND CAPABLE OF ACTION.
I SEE GREAT IMPORTANCE IN THIS.
Of course we know. They do not hide
it, because a lot has been taken from
our Soviet school. We cooperate with
boxing federations of Ukraine, Moldova,
Bulgaria – practically all Europe.
We communicate, congratulate each
other on holidays. We consult with each
other, give recommendations. These are
absolutely healthy things, and you need
to continue in the same way. No matter
what the political relations between the
countries are, I am sure that the worse
the relationship is, the more you need
to communicate. In this communication
is formed the view of our neighbors
about us and vice versa. Sport is
actually out of politics, it unites. The national
team of Ukraine fully came to our
championship in Vladikavkaz. Arrived
through Georgia, by bus, but arrived.
And I will be happy to send my team
to Ukraine. The former Soviet republics
actually remained ours. You cannot lose
this connection.
What would you wish young athletes?
What can I wish for young athletes?
They have a whole life ahead! All their
starts are ahead. I believe that the main
thing for an athlete, and it is no secret
to anyone, listen carefully to the coach,
complete all the settings and not think
about what will happen next.
We need to go forward, and the road is
made by walking! Orders and medals are
in front, and they must be taken. From our
side, we promise that we will do our best
so that they do not feel infringed on so, we
will try to do our best to protect their rights
and help them. I speak for example about
my republic and I think that over 4 years,
many of us have already realized that it is
so. I do everything that is necessary for my
athletes. They only need to train, to mind
a sports regime and to be humans, this is
important. Our main task is still to educate
a person who is not only a champion, but
also a patriot, a citizen, and capable of action.
I see great importance in this.
ALEXEY GLUSHKOV:
“FIRST YOU HAVE
TO FALL IN LOVE WITH SPORTS!”
OLYMPIC RESERVE REFERENCE (NOTE):
Alexey Glushkov – bronze medalist Olympic Games
Sydney 2000.
Alexey, you are a graduate of the
School of Olympic Reserve No. 1. And
the first question is, of course: how do
you remember the years of studying
here? Are you happy to come here?
I come here with admiration! From
1989 to 1992, I studied here. 3 years. It is
not a long term of training, but I remember
it with gratitude because it was a
stage of formation of me as an athlete, as
a personality. The school has expanded
my boundaries, including in education.
Here I learned to think, to work on myself
and to live in sports mode. It is impossible
to achieve results without a sports
regime.
Do you use any of your experience
today in your work? Considering you
‘re a former student?
Sure. Everything we were taught by
teachers, what we were taught, of course
I use it in my work. But at the same time
scientific and technological progress is
moving forward, and it is necessary to
expand the boundaries of its world view,
to keep up with the time. Therefore, the
school of the Olympic reserve at present
and what was in the 1990s are two big
differences. Heaven and earth. In the Soviet
Union, the level, quality and requirements
for sports training were slightly
different. Now the goal is set for results.
And MUOR, we will call it that, not ISS-
SUOR, but MUOR (Moscow School of
Olympic Reserve No. 1), it will always be
number one. I always set him as an example
to others. This is the way the work
in my organization should be set. We
have to learn a lot from you.
You said that today sports is aimed
at result. How do you assess the development
of children ‘s sports?
In children ‘s sports the main task is to
attract children and instil love for sports
in them. This requires highly qualified
specialists. The kids go to the coach.
Not so much even on a sport, as exactly
to the trainer. As the trainer will present
the discipline, the sport, so everything
will turn out at the boy or at the girl. In
addition, a comfortable environment
should be created for children. When
the kids come to classes, the first thing
they see is a beautiful modern hall. And
if still in it from small athletes great athletes
grow, accordingly, each child will
want to come here and will strive to
become the best. Imagine, I come to
school of the Olympic reserve, knowing
that I can become an Olympic champion,
to come to the highest sports result.
But first I have to fall in love with
sports! This is what children ‘s and youth
sports are designed for, it prepares, instills
love. Modern children do not go
so willingly in the section, as most of
the time they occupy modern information
technologies. These are gadgets,
computers, laptops. It ‘s a lot easier: just
play and achieve some virtual results.
And when you yourself achieve results
through your energy and physical training,
overcoming all your fears, excitement,
anxiety at the expense of work,
patience – this is school, not everyone
can. Therefore The task of the children
‘s trainer is to instil in the child love for
work. That ‘s the main thing.
Labor, talent or luck? What should
be at the athlete on the first place?
Of course, labor. Luck comes to someone
who works. There are talented children,
they achieve everything easily, but
they tend not to appreciate it. Enough, if I
‘m not mistaken, 10,000 hours of work to
turn professional. In any field of activity,
be you the artist, the actor, the athlete,
or you learn foreign languages. 10,000
hours – and you ‘re a professional! But
you have to work for it. Whoever works,
any talent can step over.
SPORTS IN FACES
You are today the head of the College
of Physical Culture and Sports
«Sparta.» Where is it easier: on a wrestling
carpet or in a director ‘s chair?
Everywhere exist their difficulties,
and in the chair of the director too. You
‘re on the other side, you ‘re a manager,
you watch how to manage coaches, be
a mentor for athletes, you ‘re a process
organizer and you think how to improve
it. And when something is missing, they
come to you and say: «You failed, you
failed!.» Therefore, of course, the responsibility
in the chair of the leader is higher.
When you ‘re an athlete, it ‘s all the same.
You have to achieve the result, you have
to overcome yourself, you have to work
despite injuries and any problems, despite
biased judging, you have to go to
your assigned goal. Can you, can you
handle this? Here ‘s the question! Therefore,
there are certain difficulties everywhere,
at any stage of any person ‘s life.
You now told that the athlete is
responsible, carries this burden on itself.
What advice would you give yourself
before performing at the Sydney
Olympics in a distant 2000?
I needed to be more cold-blooded, less
demanding of myself. Excessive demanding
to yourself prevents. We had to find
a middle ground. I became the bronze
prize-winner. Of course, the calculation
was on gold, but sports fate ordered differently.
Not all world champions become
Olympic champions, and not all Olympic
champions become world champions.
We have our own wall of Olympic
champions. We ‘re very proud of her.
Who is proud of your educational institution?
We also have «stars.» Serezha Semenov
– the world champion in Greco-
Roman wrestling of 2018, before that
in 2016 he, being the debutante, at the
Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro won
bronze. He was not considered as a candidate
for the Olympic Games, and he, it
is possible to say, jumped on the foot of
the outgoing train and was able to realize
himself at games. Musa Evloev – also
world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling
of 2018. Today the main goal – gold
of Olympic Games in Tokyo. I mean, it
‘s gonna work out. The most important
thing is to go to Tokyo without injuries.
There are good athletes: Oleg Agakhanov
and Arthur Petrosyan. Juniors are
gaining momentum, raising the shoulder
of young men. Our main task is preparation
of sports reserve.
How do you see the college development
vector today?
The main task of our college is to train
highly qualified specialists of middle professional
level: good teachers of physical
education. In the future children will have
an opportunity to increase the level of the
education in one of the universities with
which we cooperate. We provide necessary
support to athletes who are engaged
professionally in certain sports and work
on individual training schedule. We help
to learn, we help, we do not put ratings.
Children pass certification on general
grounds. There is also an emphasis on organizing
a comfortable environment for
employees to work. The quality of nutrition
for our athletes is also important. In
short, we are trying to be like MUOR No. 1.
How do you select athletes? Do
you recodnize the talent right away?
When you look at a man, do you immediately
realize that he can become
a champion?
13 kinds of sport are practised in
the Olympic Reserve College No. 1,
while in Sparta only wrestling is practised.
It is free-style, female (recently
opened discipline) and Greco-Roman.
When the boy comes, it is difficult, of
course, to determine whether he will
become the champion or not. But good
athletes, active, energetic, fast, coordinated,
cunning, smart can be seen at
once. It is not always possible to say
clearly who will achieve the result.
Sometimes a talented child loses interest
in sports and after 5 years leaves
sport, or on the contrary, an average
child brings result, gains strength and
reaches the goal. This is a very labourintensive
process, and it is very hard
to say who will become the champion.
Time will show everything and work of
the coach, undoubtedly.
What would you wish future champions?
First of all, patience. Work despite failures,
and reach out for the goal, realize
your dream. We have a lot of such examples.
Many legendary athletes came
out of the College of Olympic reserve
No 1. Practically every – champions of
the world, Europe, winners and prizewinners
of Olympic Games. I think soon
there won’t be enough room on the
Olympic wall to hang new photos of all
the champions. It will be like that! The
road will settle on the way!
ISLAM DUGUCHIEV
REFERENCE OF THE OLYMPIC RESERVE:
Islam Duguchiev – the silver prize-winner of
Olympic Games on Greco-Roman wrestling, the
4-time world champion, the honored trainer of
Russia, the senior trainer of youth national teams of
Russia on Greco-Roman wrestling.
Islam, you are the most interested
viewer on this tournament. Your first
impressions of the fight that children
demonstrate?
It ‘s nice to look at guys of this age
than when they get older. Why?
They are not mathematics yet, they
are wrestlers. They fight from the soul,
apply techniques, and this is interesting
to look at. Getting older, they start being
mathematicians, calculating, holding,
and that makes wrestling less interesting.
The guys are good. Athletes who
took 1 and 2 places, will go to of Europe
to Serbia. There we will reveal who will
enter the national team and who will
represent our country in the forthcoming
tournament.
On what principle the national
team will be formed?
The national team will include wrestlers
who took the 1 and 2 place. We will
also watch children who didn t reach the
ending and stopped on the 3 place. In
the course of tournament we will try to
«breed» the strongest.
Are young men today different
from athletes of the ‘80s?
No doubt, of course, they are different.
All over the world in terms of equipment
the level of wrestling has deteriorated,
plus we see a big problem of training
staff, and it happens not only in Russia.
In your opinion, is youth wrestling
at a high level today?
Definitely, there are problems in children’s
wrestling. Trainers who work with
children, today are deprived of attention,
and it reflects on their salaries. Often
they have no opportunity to bring
children to competitions. Until we bring
order, a strong growth of the result can
not be expected, and very soon we may
well be quite close to failure.
What role in education of athletes
does College of Olympic reserve play?
Is the training system in such institutions
sufficient or does it require modernization?
Such college type is the best environment
for the athlete. Those who enter
the college, get the opportunity to
train 2 times a day and to study in the
same place. There is a lot more room
SUCH COLLEGE TYPE IS THE BEST ENVIRONMENT FOR THE ATHLETE.
THOSE WHO ENTER THE COLLEGE, GET THE OPPORTUNITY
TO TRAIN 2 TIMES A DAY AND TO STUDY IN THE SAME PLACE.
THERE IS A LOT MORE ROOM FOR GROWTH.
IF A PERSON WANTS TO ACHIEVE SOMETHING, THE SCHOOL CAN HELP
HIM ACHIEVE THE GOAL. I WENT TO SUCH SCHOOL MYSELF.
THAT ‘S WHY I KNOW WHAT I ‘M TALKING ABOUT. IF YOU DO NOT
TRAIN TWICE A DAY, YOU WON’T BECOME A GOOD ATHLETE.
for growth. If a person wants to achieve
something, the school can help him
achieve the goal. I went to such school
myself. That ‘s why I know what I ‘m talking
about. If you do not train twice a day,
you won’t become a good athlete.
Recipe for success consists of 3
things: coach, talent, work. Do you
agree? What should stand first?
Coach. In children’s wrestling coach
means a lot, everything depends exactly
on the coach. If a coach is interested
in you, in this sport, you will like
it, you will breathe with double pleasure
and give result. And if the coach is
not good enough, he can beat the desire
to train at the very first training by
a wrong approach to the child. Therefore
the most important is the coach,
then comes talent and work. I wish the
young athletes who want to become
high-class wrestlers to work intensely,
to be grateful to the mentors and
coaches, and everything will turn out
to be a success!
DENIS TSARGUSH:
“WE ALWAYS HAD THE BEST COACHES,
WHO PREPARED US AND ADJUSTED
REFERENCE OF THE OLYMPIC RESERVE:
Denis Tsargush – three times world champion
in free-style wrestling, bronze prize-winner of
Olympic Games, the senior trainer of the youth
national team of Russia on free-style wrestling
(young athletes of 14-16 years).
Denis, you are bronze prize-winner
of Olympic Games. Olympic Games
are very important in the life of each
athlete. What does an Olympic medal
mean for you? Do you consider yourself
the winner?
I have a bronze medal. It is accepted
that when you to the World Cups,
European Championships or Olympic
Games we are geared up only for a victory.
Silver and bronze medals are considered
defeat for us. Senior teammate
told me when I was preparing for the
fight for bronze that a medal is a medal,
time will pass, and there would come
the understanding that this medal is
Olympic. And the time has passed, and I
fully agree with him. Of course, I wanted
gold but won bronze. I have bronze, and
I ‘m very proud of it.
We talk, being on of Russia among
juniors till 24 years. Do you remember
competing at this age?
When I was young, there were no
separate competitions yet for the
age of under 24. Then competitions
among juniors till 20 years were held,
and then we passed to adult wrestling.
Very correctly did that created youth
age category. Not all manage painlessly
to pass into adult wrestling, and
many wrestlers are lost at this age. It is
a rational decision – to give children
a chance to prove themselves and to
prepare within two or three years to
show adult wrestling. Children fight,
acting on superiority of the world and
Europe. The same medals, the same
results, therefore the winning Russian
traditions – to fight for the highest
places and to win remain.
SPORTS IN FACES
With what mood trained?
I always had pictures of our leaders in
my room, such as Buvaysar Saytiyev. Every
morning I woke up, looked at them and
walked, as they say, forward and with the
song to training.
The medal of the Olympic Games is
a great achievement! Not every athlete
manages it, not everyone reaches the
Olympic pedestal. After winning the
Olympic medal you certainly analyzed
the way passed. You did everything
right, trained right?
If you want to achieve the result, it is
necessary to train from morning to evening.
After the Olympic Games I realized
that besides that you are completely
given to sports, there must be also luck.
It ‘s necessary. Luck should accompany
the athlete from the first day when he
stepped on a carpet. Wrestlers are all different,
but there are such moments in
wrestling when there is no other explanation
to what happens, except good luck,
simply. And to the main start of the fouryear
you have to approach prepared both
psychologically, and physically, and mentally.
To be ready to fight and win. Trainers
at us always had the best, prepared us
and adjusted only on a victory. The rest
depends on the athlete himself.
You are familiar with the Moscow
School of Olympic Reserve No. 1. Have
you heard of us?
Of course, I heard, I know that the
school is headed by the Olympic champion
in free-style wrestling David Muslim
– the great person who after the end of
career continues the business which he
knows, transfers the experience to the
younger generation. That ‘s very good.
Not only I think so, the entire wrestling
public sees it. I think that big victories at
it still ahead, his pupils will prove it and
glorify school.
What do you guys want?
Children want to wish that at the first
result didn t hurt nose, went to the target
and persistently trained. Only through labour
can everything be achieved.
SPORTS, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SCIENCE
FACTORS AFFECTING
ON THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION
AT THE OLYMPIC RESERVE SCHOOL
Author: Gorshkov A.G., Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor
Moscow Secondary Specialized College of Olympic Reserve No. 1
• Abstract: Improving the quality of training in the school of Olympic reserve
is associated with overcoming didactic, socio-psychological and professional
difficulties, reducing the period of adaptation to new conditions.
• Key words: professional education, school of Olympic reserve, adaptation to
training conditions
I
GORSHKOV A.G
n their activities schools of the
Olympic reserve are called to
solve two interrelated tasks: 1.
Training of qualified professional coaches
in sport; 2. Preparation of highly qualified
sports reserve for national teams.
Sports improvement is one side in
the activities of students. According to
logic, it should be dominant, as schools
first of all were created precisely for training
of highly qualified athletes. However,
the state as social protection defined for
such athletes mandatory study for the
purpose of training from them trainers
on a sport. This side in the activity of students
is no less important than sports
training, as qualified trainers-teachers
must leave the walls of the school after
its completion.
The difficulties in the organization of
the educational process are the fact that
the requirements for training of professional
personnel in the field of physical
culture and sports have increased.
Modern education is characterized by
variation and diversity both in content
and in the technologies used in the educational
process. If you consider pedagogical
technologies as organizational
and methodological tools, the availability
of various educational technologies,
the constant emergence of new technol-
ogies require the teacher to be flexible,
creative, high pedagogical skills [4]. Secondary
vocational education is an important
part of Russian education. It develops
as a link in the system of continuing
education and is designed to meet the
needs of the individual, society and the
State in obtaining professional qualifications
of a middle-level specialist.
Today schools of the Olympic reserve
are the only educational institutions
where athletes who devote a lot of time
to training process, can receive secondary
and secondary special education
without refusal of intense trainings.
The prospects for the development
of the content of secondary vocational
education are related to its intellectual
development, the essence of which is
the development of systemic and professional
thinking among students, the formation
of a scientific picture of the world
in them, as well as the skills of scientific
and research work.
The quality of education today is considered
to be the most important factor
of sustainable development of the country,
its information and moral security [1].
The quality of education is influenced
by many factors. One is the student ‘s
ability to adapt to school conditions.
The problem of adapting a person to
new conditions affects the interests of
the whole society. The optimal adaptation
of a person to his profession and the
nature of work has great social and biological
meaning. Adaptation is a method
of solving the contradictions between
the impact of the environment and the
capabilities of the individual that arise
when living conditions change. At the
same time it takes some time to enter
into new contacts, in a new social role.
Admission to the Olympic Reserve
School is a private case of human entry
into a new social environment. Since
the first day in the school, the student
has been affected by new social, pedagogical,
psychological factors that cause
adaptive reactions both of the body and
of the person as a whole. He needs to
adapt to the system of education, to new
interpersonal relations, collective, to new
living conditions.
Adaptation of students to the conditions
of education in the Olympic Reserve
School should be considered within
the framework of understanding the
interaction between the individual and
the environment as a subject activity, i.e.
an exercise on the individual, which defines
one of the principles of the education
system – activity and autonomy of
young students [3].
The reason for the failure for many
students of the Olympic Reserve School
is not the lack of ability or desire to study,
but the inability to quickly adjust to the
new conditions, as well as the fact that
they did not receive the timely necessary
assistance from teachers. As a result, the
transition period is extremely difficult for
many.
Some individual-psychological characteristics
of the individual (mental depression,
inability to mobilize their will,
inability to establish contacts and correct
relations with teachers and comrades)
may also be factors hindering the adaptation
of students. Beginner student
needs to change old, familiar norms of
behavior, rebuild them, p at each student
differently, quicker or more slowly, more
difficult or easier depending on specific
features, readiness to school, the organization
of student’s life and other factors.
SPORTS, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SCIENCE
Characterizing training conditions in
school of the Olympic reserve, usually
mark out didactic and social and psychological
difficulties. Understand process of
adaptation to the system of training in
school of the Olympic reserve as didactic
difficulties. Content of didactic adaptation
comes down to forming at the student
of rational receptions and ways of
independent cognitive activity.
Social and psychological difficulties
include all parties of communication: integration
of the personality with educational
collective, acceptance of its values,
norms, standards of behavior. It leaves a
mark on the personality, tells her internal
dynamics of orientation of requirements.
The factor of the interpersonal relations
which define the installations satisfying
the personal status of the school student
has an impact on process of internal reorientation
of the personality also form
the level of its claims [2].
Adaptation of the pupil is a difficult,
multiple-factor process connected
with assimilation of social experience of
school of the Olympic reserve of the environment,
inclusion of the personality
in the system of behavior, inner world,
requirements, interests, psychology of
the pupil. This active, creative adaptation
of the student to conditions of school
of the Olympic reserve. The happening
changes of the identity of the student are
connected with overcoming difficulties
of objective and subjective character, including
lack of skill of self-regulation. Pupils
of school of the Olympic reserve have
rather low level of psychological, practical
readiness for specifics of training that
leads to an excessive nerve strain, mental
fatigue, concern, alarm, easing of thinking,
memory.
Process of adaptation of the student
to conditions of training has to be operated.
The choice of control facilities is defined
by understanding of the nature of
the adaptation. There are two stages of
adaptation – urgent and long-term.
The urgent stage arises directly after
the beginning of action of new conditions
and, therefore, can be implemented
only on the basis of the ready, earlier
created mechanisms. The main means
of a stage of urgent adaptation is social
experience of the former school student
which can be created in various social
systems: in family, sports sections. Relying
on the social experience preceding
training in school of the Olympic reserve
of life, the pupil builds the behavior, the
relations with companions, teachers.
The long-term stage of adaptation
arises gradually, as a result of long or repeated
action on the pupil of factors of
school of the Olympic reserve. In fact, it
develops on the basis of realization of
urgent adaptation. At this stage of adaptation
a whole range of means is used:
pedagogical, socio-psychological, administrative,
amateur activity.
Analysis of numerous literary sources
allows to systematize the process of adaptation
of students to the conditions
of study in the secondary vocational
educational institution, to highlight the
main components of this process. These
include: difficulties faced by the student,
types of adaptation, criteria and means.
In characterizing learning conditions,
didactic, socio-psychological difficulties
and professional difficulties are usually
distinguished.
Didactic difficulties refer to the process
of adapting a student to a new
learning system. Freshmen have a relatively
low level of psychological, practical
readiness for professional orientation of
education. Lack of preparation for new
forms of education leads to mental fatigue,
weakening of memory, thinking,
concentration of attention only on sports
activities to the detriment of educational
activities. Disadaptation reduces protective
and adaptation capabilities, which
poses a threat to the state of health, reduction
of sports results.
Social and psychological difficulties
are determined by the degree of integration
of the individual with students,
acceptance of values, norms, standards
and stereotypes of behavior adopted
in her environment. The student should
be included as fully as possible as an active
subject of educational work in the
diverse relations of the educational process.
Such inclusion determines the possibility
of its activity and indicates the
degree of compliance of its requirements
with professional requirements.
Professional difficulties are determined
by the degree of identification of
the person with the future profession,
with the social role of the teacher, which
she will have to perform after receiving
secondary special education. It is identification
of personal qualities with require-
ments of profession and active-positive
attitude to the obtained specialty. Therefore,
the formation of the professional
orientation of the individual is of great
importance here. As a result of professional
adaptation, the student should
get a idea of the activities for which he is
preparing, and he should have the image
of a professional as an indicative basis for
his activities.
Education in the school of the Olympic
reserve is a new social situation, arising
before yesterday ‘s schoolboy, imposing
on the student requirements of professional
and sports orientation.
THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION TODAY IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE MOST
IMPORTANT FACTOR OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
OF THE COUNTRY, ITS INFORMATION AND MORAL SECURITY.
The quality and timing of adaptation
to the new conditions depend on the
joint work of both the student himself
and the purposeful work of educators,
teachers, administration – the whole
team. Such unity will help students of
school of the Olympic reserve achieve
high results both in sports, and educational
and professional activity.
on physical culture» is 328 hours and the
State Healthcare Institution on 1-3 courses
(1-6 semester) of day (internal) form of
education is studied by students.
Search of new forms of the trainings
available to broad use in recreational practice
with use of means of physical training
and the subsequent independent occupations
giving the chance, led to expansion
of a framework of traditional types of a
physical activity. In recent years abroad
and in Russia the increasing prevalence
is gained by so-called Scandinavian, or
northern walking which in comparison
with normal walking demands bigger coordination
and promotes increase in level
of functional readiness of those engaged.
The Scandinavian walking, walking
with sticks, is the exercise stress of aerobic
character which influences cardiovascular
and respiratory systems, and in general
and on maintenance of a homeostasis of
an organism. The efficiency of occupations
the Scandinavian walking is confirmed
by results of scientific research. This
type of physical activity is more balanced
and power-intensive, than, for example,
jogging. While running 45% of muscles of
a body are involved, and for an hour it is
possible to waste 300 kcal, during Scandinavian
walking more than 80% of muscles,
and power consumption for an hour – 700
kcal are involved. Besides, the Scandinavian
walking is a safe and effective form of
physical training as in the course of the occupations
the stroke output of heart, the
minute volume of blood circulation and
the maximum consumption of oxygen
raises, the working capacity improves. This
type of an exercise stress has practically no
contraindications, does not demand the
special equipment and expensive equipment,
the equipped rooms and platforms
for occupations.
The training on the Scandinavian walking
is divided into the standard parts –
preparatory (warm-up), the main and the
final. Warm-up takes usually 10-15% of the
general time of a training, and its contents
is use of the all-developing and special
preparatory exercises. The main part is important
for achievement of recreational or
other effect and is provided by Scandinavian
walking. Duration of this part averages
70-75% of the general time of a training.
Important criterion for evaluation of efficiency
of the Scandinavian walking is the
intensity loading which should be dosed
and controlled accurately on the heart rate
(HR). A final part of occupations pursues
the aim of gradual decrease in effect of influence
of loading. It includes exercises on
stretching of the main groups of muscles
and also use of different breathing exercises
for decrease in ChSS and arterial blood
pressure.
In the course of the classes using the
Scandinavian walking there is not only
forming and acquisition of motive abilities
and related knowledge, but also development
of physical qualities: endurance,
force, speed, dexterity (coordination) and
flexibility. In compliance to the purposes
and problems of occupations, leaning on
a technique of development of this or that
quality, also the corresponding exercises
are selected.
The exercises are aimed at overcoming
exhaustion during their execution, develop
endurance on condition of regular
and enough long physical activities, the
level of functional readiness increases, the
efficiency of the person improves. Exercises
on development of endurance in the
Scandinavian walking are: walking on average
speed according to individual indicators
of ChSS; long walking at slow speed
or weak intensity.
In development forces are used physical
exercises which execution demands
the bigger tension of muscles. These are
power exercises of both dynamic character,
and isometric: exercises with an external
resistance; exercises with overcoming
weight of own body; exercises on the passive
or active tension of muscles.
The general requirement to exercises
for development of speed is the possibility
of their execution with about maximum
speed limits. In the Scandinavian walking
speed development exercises are applied:
it accelerations with the greatest possible
speed lasting up to 20-30 sec.; walking
with a speed of movement is higher normal,
to be exact – above average training
speed.
Exercises with the increased amplitude
of the movement develop flexibility with
impact on connecting fabrics – sinews,
sheaves, etc. The special extension exercises
(dynamic, statistical and combined)
which are carried out in classes of the
Scandinavian walking allow to develop
flexibility up to the necessary level.
For development of coordination the
exercises imposing increased requirements
to coherence and ordering of
movements are used. For development of
dexterity it is reasonable to carry out exercises
in the conditions of limited space
and time in which speed is combined with
the accuracy of movements (for example,
jumps over a bench, etc.).
CONCLUSIONS:
1. Elective courses on physical culture
contribute to deepening individualization
and differentiation of learning.
2. Nordic walking is a type of motor
activity available for wide application in
wellness practice regardless of gender,
age and prior sporting experience.
3. Classes in Nordic walking within the
framework of the educational programs of
the university contribute to the creation of
a healthy basis for the demonstration of
talent of the individual and successful acquisition
THE PURPOSE OF THIS ARTICLE IS TO SHOW
STUDENT ATHLETES WHAT IMPORTANT ROLE MATHEMATICS
PLAYS IN MODERN SPORTS. THE TASK OF PREDICTING
RECORDS USING CORRELATION ANALYSIS METHODS
IS CHOSEN AS A KEY EXAMPLE.
t is no secret that studentsathletes
do not like mathematics
and rarely achieve
any significant results in it. And often it
happens that the better the sports result
of the student, the worse the situation
with mathematics. And this happens not
because student-athletes do not have a
tendency to mathematics or are simply
stupid, but because they have no motivation
to study it. It seems to them that
mathematics and sports are incompatible
areas of human activity. At the same time
they do not even guess how far from the
truth, and how close mathematics and
sports are.
The purpose of this article is to show
student athletes what important role
mathematics plays in modern sports. The
task of predicting records using correlation
analysis methods is chosen as a key
example. This choice is due to the fact
that mathematical statistics (and one of
its methods – correlation analysis) occupy
perhaps most of the mathematical
and general natural science educational
cycle of the Federal State Educational
Standard of Secondary Vocational Education
in the specialty 49.02.01 «Physical
Culture.»
As it is known, mathematics invaded
all spheres of human activity, sports –
not an exception. Mathematical models
of various team sports games are being
built. Using mathematical methods
results of competitions are processed,
future results of teams or individual athletes
are predicted. Mathematics helps in
organization of competitions, in judging,
in creation of sports classifications. Many
mathematical disciplines are used: probability
theory and mathematical statistics,
game theory and graph theory, operation
research and linear programming [1]. For
initial familiarity with the place of mathematics
in modern sports, a studentathlete
can recommend the book Gik E.J.
«One hundred and fifty sports puzzles.
Sport and Mathematics, «published in
2015 by the Moscow Center for Continuous
Mathematical Education [1]. The author
managed to collect a large number
of sports mathematical tasks and puzzles
of different types. Most of the tasks and
puzzles in this book involve running competitions.
In the wording of a number of
tasks real sports events are described,
famous athletes are mentioned, among
which, maybe, idols of students-athletes
are. It is also impossible not to mention
the book Sadovsky L.E. and A.L. «Mathematics
and Sports,» published in the 44
issue of the famous series of scientificpopular
books Library «Quantum» [2].
This paper discusses the task of predicting
a new record result on the example of
hammer throwing among women. The
purpose of the work is to demonstrate the
method of correlation analysis in action
from examples close and understandable
for student athletes.
SPORTS, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SCIENCE
At the 2016 Summer Olympics held in
Rio-de-Janeiro, Polish hammer thrower
Anita Vlodarchik won gold while setting
a world record. In the end of competitions
she managed to throw a hammer
on 82.29 m. The question is: is it possible
to predict a new record value in the
near future, for example, at the summer
Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo? You can,
if you trace the history of world records
and set a mathematical kind of dependence
of the value of the record on time.
Then, assuming that the past growth of
results will continue in the near future,
extrapolate the growth rate of results to
the future. The history of world records
in hammer throwing in women in the
form of a table and a graph in MS Excel
is presented in Table 1.
The correlation field shows that the dynamics
growth of the record result value
has a linear trend (Table 2).
We should bear in mind that correlation
(correlational dependence) is a statistical
interrelation of two random variables
at which change of one of them is
accompanied by systematic change of
another. This concept is essentially different
from functional dependence, as can
be seen from the definition. Function
(functional dependence) – steady interrelation
of two sizes at which change of
one of them causes a certain quantitative
change of another.
Linear correlation is given by equation
of direct form y = kx + b, where x is factor
characteristic (in our case – year), y is effective
characteristic (in our case – record
value). The simplest linear equation written
above results from the transformation
of the correlation equation:
, (1)
Where x is the mean value of the factor
characteristic, y is the mean value
of the performance characteristic, S (x)
is the standard deviation of the factor
characteristic, S (y) is the standard deviation
of the performance characteristic,
r xy is the linear correlation coefficient (a
measure of the strength or «cramped»
bond).
Known expressions were used to calculate
the average values of the factor and
performance characteristics:
, (2) , (3)
Where n = 13 is the total number of
records recorded since 1994. The calculation
was performed using the function «=
CPVALUE» in MS Excel 2010. For the average
value of the factor characteristic, the
value of 2004.615 was obtained. For the
average value of the effective characteristic
– 75,722 m.
The known expressions were used to
calculate the standard deviations of the
factor and performance characteristic:
, (4)
, (5)
The calculation was carried out using
the function «= STANDARD» in MS Excel
2010. For the average value of the factor
characteristic, a value of 7.986 was obtained.
For the average value of the effective
characteristic – 4.889 m.
The links between factor and performance
features can be weak and strong
(«cramped»). Link criteria are rated on a
scale:
0.1 < r xy < 0.3 – weak, 0.3 < r xy < 0.5 –
moderate, 0.5 < r xy < 0.7 – visible, 0.7 < r xy
AS IT IS KNOWN, MATHEMATICS INVADED ALL SPHERES OF
HUMAN ACTIVITY, SPORTS – NOT AN EXCEPTION. MATHEMATICAL
MODELS OF VARIOUS TEAM SPORTS GAMES ARE BEING BUILT.
USING MATHEMATICAL METHODS RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS
ARE PROCESSED, FUTURE RESULTS OF TEAMS OR INDIVIDUAL
ATHLETES ARE PREDICTED. MATHEMATICS HELPS IN ORGANIZATION
OF COMPETITIONS, IN JUDGING, IN CREATION
OF SPORTS CLASSIFICATIONS.
< 0.9 – high, 0.9 < r xy < 1 – very high. And
the coefficient r xy itself is calculated by the
formula:
, (6)
Where is the average value of the
product of factor and performance characteristics
calculated by the formula:
, (7)
The calculation was performed using
the function «= CPVALUE» in MS Excel
2010. A value of 151830,628 was obtained
for the mean value of the product of the
factorial and productive features. The linear
correlation coefficient was calculated
using the «= CORREL» function in MS Excel
2010. A value of 0.936 was obtained
for r xy . The obtained high r xy value means
that the bond strength («cramped») is very
high, and the forecast made will have a
high degree of reliability. By substituting
the values of all quantities (2) to (6) found
above into equation (1), and elementary
algebraic transformations, the equation is
obtained:
, (8)
Let ‘s make a forecast for 2020, for this
purpose in equation (8) instead of x put
2020. The expected value of the record in
hammer throwing among women at summer
Olympics 2020 in Tokyo, will be 84.51
m. Time will show how accurate the forecast
was. We hope that the new value of
the record will belong to the Russian athlete.
• Summary. This study aims at identifying the attitude of students of educational
institutions to physical culture and sports. The relevance of this issue increases,
as today in educational institutions physical culture and sports are given a small
number of credits, which leads to reduction of hours and teaching staff.
elevance of the study. Today,
students studying in educational
institutions are skeptical
of physical education and often do
not attend them, arguing for their lack of
time, desire and interest. This pattern is observed
in many educational institutions, so
this study increases its relevance, and thus
we will determine the importance and attitude
of students to physical culture and
sports. Students believe that many study
their profession, in which sports are not
provided, and therefore they do not engage
in them. Some sports are contraindicated
due to health problems, many have
took place through Google ‘s online service
using a form consisting of 15 questions. The
study was carried out in Moscow.
Examinees. 50 students of educational
institutions were interviewed, focusing
on 6 universities and 1 school: the
Russian State Social University (WGSU);
Conclusions: Thus, in the course of
the study conducted, we come to the
conclusion. In the course of the survey
we found that students of 7 higher and
secondary special educational institutions
as a whole have a positive attitude
to physical culture and sports, out of 50
students surveyed 76% are engaged in
sports, and 24% are not. When answering
the question «In your opinion, is it
necessary to engage in physical culture
were divided, the majority, 78%, believe
that it is necessary to engage in physical
culture, and the rest, 22%, believe that
they do not need sport.
When answering the question «Does
the quality of physical education in your
educational institution satisfy you?» the
opinions of students differ, we see the following
statistics: Most of them, 82%, are
satisfied with physical education in educational
institution, 6% are not satisfied,
6% do not like being forced into physical
education, and 6% are unhappy with
physical education in their educational
institution because classes are boring.
We fully fulfilled the task and revealed the
attitude of students to physical culture
and sports in educational Institutions.. In
general, students and the teaching staff
understand the importance and approve
significant number of children
starting out in sports of-
A ten leave the sports section
at the end of the first year.
With the aim of establishing the true
extent of pupils of sports sections at
the first initial year of training, as well
as reasons, on it influencing, coaches
of athletic departments in COLLEGE
«MSSUOR No. 1» of the Moscow Sports
Department were interviewed. The
study involved 10 coaches in sports
such as judo, Boxing, Greco-Roman
wrestling, freestyle wrestling, athletics
and table tennis.
The question in the survey was:
«How many percent of children remain
in the sports section after the first year
of study» / The average response was
recorded: 20%. After the second and
third years of study: 40% of students.
(Figure 1)
Analysis of the results of the coaches
survey indicates that most of the
children leave the section at the stage
of initial sports specialization for the
following reasons:
• lack of sustained interest
• fear of competition
• lack of ability to this kind of activity
• lack of diligence (strong-willed qualities)
From the results of the survey it follows
that at the stage of initial sports specialization;
first of all, it is necessary to pay attention
to the formation of sustainable
interest in the chosen sport. Increased interest
in sports is an important incentive
for systematic employment in this activity,
improve sportsmanship and growth
Rice. 1. Number of children
remaining in the sport in relation to the
years of study (%)
results. In this regard, one of the main
tasks at this stage is the formation of stable
interest in sports among young athletes
from the first days of training. [3,7]
No less important reason, according
to the coaches, for which young athletes
leave the sport, is the fear of competition.
In the structure of sports activity motivation
in children with different qualifications
and achieved sports results,
there are significant differences that
determine the level of sports achievements
of the child.
In the study of sports motivation
the following characteristics are revealed:
interest in sports; sports motivation
for training and competition
activity; competitive motivation «to
achieve success and avoid failure»;
indicators of mental reliability (motivation
and energy component, the
stability – noise immunity).
You should consider peculiarities of
sports motivation in the first year. The
study showed that among novice athletes
interest in sports is characterized as
insufficiently stable (27 points).
INCREASED INTEREST IN SPORTS
IS AN IMPORTANT INCENTIVE FOR SYSTEMATIC PRACTICE OF THIS
SPORT, IMPROVE SPORTS SKILLS
AND INCREASE RESULTS. AS PRACTICE SHOWS,
CLASSES IN THE SECTION OF ATHLETES OF DIFFERENT
QUALIFICATIONS LAST FOR DIFFERENT PERIODS OF TIME.
DURATION OF OCCUPATION OF ATHLETES OF THE THIRD CATEGORY
DOES NOT EXCEED ON AVERAGE 1-2 YEARS, ATHLETES
OF THE SECOND CATEGORY ARE ENGAGED NO MORE THAN
2,5-3 YEARS, ATHLETES OF THE FIRST CATEGORY TRAIN
AND ACT WITHIN 5-6 YEARS.
It is the unstable nature of interest in
sports, which is one of the main factors
influencing the dropout of athletes at the
stage of initial sports specialization. According
to the data studied, the annual
dropout rate in the initial training groups
during the first year of training is on average
80%. In this regard, one of the tasks
for the formation of sports motivation in
children at this stage is the formation of a
sustainable interest in sports from the first
days of classes. The structure of sports motivation
orientation is dominated by motivation
for training activities (6.8 points)
compared to motivation for competitive
activity (6.3 points). The competitive motivation
of children is dominated by the orientation
«to achieve success «(6.5 points)
to» avoid failure» (4.6 points) [1, 4].
Increased interest in sports is an important
incentive for systematic practice
of this sport, improve sports skills
and increase results. As practice shows,
classes in the section of athletes of different
qualifications last for different
periods of time. Duration of occupation
of athletes of the third category
does not exceed on average 1-2 years,
athletes of the second category are engaged
no more than 2,5-3 years, athletes
of the first category train and act
within 5-6 years.
Duration of occupation of Masters of
sports depending on their success, as a
rule, fluctuates on the average from 6 to
12 years. There is no doubt that the average
duration of sports is closely related to
the interest that athletes feel in it [5].
The following tendency is manifested
in the structure of sports motivation orientation.
With the increase of the sportsmanship
level, the focus on competitive
activity increases and the focus of motivation
on the training process decreases.
Passion for sports can meet different
needs of those involved, but to identify
them without a scientific method is extremely
difficult, so there is a need to
study them in athletes [6].
Given the fact that the maximum
severity of needs is 5 points, this study
found quite high rates. It is important
to note, that athletes in their first year of
training have this need connected with
natural need in movement. The data of
special literature indicate that the average
daily activity of children when
walking at the age of 10-15 years is in
the range of 23-30 thousand steps per
day (according to the pedometer) and
it decreases during school hours to 8-10
thousand steps due to the saturation of
time with studying theoretical subjects.
The coach should first of all rely on the
natural need for movement in the formation
of motives for sports among novice
athletes, actualize it, make it more clear
and conscious of them [2, 7].
ystematic sports in adolescence
have a beneficial ef-
S fect on the body, promote
health, better physical development,
increase the level of General
and special physical training, creating the
necessary active recreation of students,
etc.
Ensuring comprehensive harmonious
development is one of the main provisions
of training young athletes. It is carried
out through the use of a wide range
of different physical exercises, with the
help of which a solid foundation for health
and future sporting success is laid. At
each stage of training of young athletes,
special attention is paid to the expansion
of functional capabilities of the body and
development of physical abilities.
It not only promotes all-round physical
development, but also creates favourable
conditions for active rest, fight against fatigue
and increases working capacity of
pupils. Premature narrow specialization
in certain types of sports exercise prevents
achievement of high sports results
and can adversely affect young athletes’
health.
In his address to the Federal Assembly,
Russian President Vladimir Putin
said: «Bold dreams always work for a big
goal, and we must reveal the talent that
every child has, help him realize his aspirations.»
Therefore organization of occupations
with young athletes, selection
of means and methods of training are
carried out surely taking into account
individual features and degree of their
preparation. Special attention should be
paid to the values of training loads. They
should be optimal and increase as fitness
of the body develops. Great enthusiasm
for sports, the desire to show good sports
results often cause young athletes the
desire to perform excessive training loads
that do not correspond to functional capabilities.
Training should be designed
and organized so as to eliminate the risk
of overload, fatigue and injury.
The use of hardware and software
complex «AMSAT-COVERT» allows to assess
effectiveness of physical activity and
dynamics of recovery processes in the
process of training sessions, as well as to
analyze physical and functional fitness of
young athletes.
This hardware and software complex
has the following significant advantages:
• ease of performing testing process;
• testing time is from 10 to 12 seconds;
• mobility of use: no special room or devices
are required for operation;
• testing in screening mode;
• highly informative;
• organization of dynamic observation
of the functional state of the organism
in the process of training sessions for
any set period and with any repetition
frequency of measurements.
For an objective assessment of changes
in the functional state of the body under
the influence of physical activity indicators
with quantitative and qualitative
display, characterizing the effectiveness
of adaptation and recovery in the process
of training were used. At each testing
with the use of the hardware-software
complex «AMSAT-COVERT» three measurements
are carried out.
The first measurement is carried out
immediately before training or physical
activity and characterizes the initial functional
state of the body (level of health).
The lower the quantitative index, the
higher the level of health. Assessment of
health indicators according to «AMSAT-
COVERT» is presented in Table 1.
The second measurement is carried
out immediately after the main part of
the training and shows the dynamics of
SPORTS, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SCIENCE
the functional state of the body during
physical work (efficiency). A positive view
of dynamic performance indicators indicates
a good efficiency of physical activity
in the process of training. Negative view
indicates insufficient effectiveness of
physical activity (Figure 1).
The third measurement is carried out
15-20 minutes after the end of the main
part of the training. The results characterize
the degree of recovery processes in
the body (early recovery).
Positive view of dynamic indicators of
early recovery processes indicates good
compensatory capabilities of the functional
state of the organism. Negative
view indicates decrease in compensatory
capabilities of the functional state of the
organism.
As a result of the testing «AMSAT-
COVERT» automatically processes the
information and presents the results in
the form of diagrams, in the form of phantoms
and in the form of assessment of the
body systems (Figures 2, 3 and 4).
Any physical work is impossible without
increasing functional activity of the
body and its systems. Moreover, the
more active the athlete works in training,
the higher the indicators of functional
activity should be. Based on this, it is possible
to assess the performance by determining
the dynamics of the functional
state of the organism at different stages
of the training process. In this case, three
indicators of the functional state of the
organism are used:
1. Indicator of the functional state of
the body, obtained before the start of
training.
2. Indicator of the functional state of
the body after the main part of the workout.
3. Indicator of the functional state of
the body in 15-20 minutes after the main
part of the workout.
As we can see in the table, in the tested
group of fourteen tested Positive performance
was detected in twelve athletes
(85.7%), and Negative was detected in
two athletes (14.3%). The assessment
of indicators of Positive type of working
capacity according to the hardware-software
complex «AMSAT-COVERT» is carried
out according to table 3.
According to the indicators of Positive
performance according to «AMSAT-
COVERT», among the tested athletes 9
people (75.1%) have a high level, 2 people
(16.6%) have an average level and 1 person
(8.3%) has a low level of performance
(Figure 5).
The results indicate a fairly well-delivered
training process among the test. All
test subjects are able to perform in the
specified parameters of physical activity,
accompanied by reversible in terms functional
rest changes in the body.
Example of calculation of recovery
type. Table 4 shows the indicators of the
functional state of the body at different
stages of training, calculation indicators
and the type of early recovery in all athletes.
In the table of the tested group of fourteen
tested positive form of early recovery
was detected in twelve athletes (85.7%),
and negative form of early recovery was
detected in two athletes (14.3%).
Positive view of recovery indicators
suggests a high efficiency of adaptation
of the body to physical activity and the
use of functional reserves of the body in
the process of training. Negative appearance
indicates low efficiency of recovery
processes, that is, a decrease in adaptive
mechanisms, including compensatory reactions
of the body.
The assessment of indicators of the
positive type of early recovery according
to «AMSAT-COVERT» is carried out according
to Table 5 below.
Analysis of the results of the positive
type of early recovery according to
«AMSAT-COVERT» shows that among the
tested athletes 7 people (58.3%) have a
high level and 5 people (41.7%) have an
average level of recovery. There is no low
recovery (Figure 6).
The results indicate that neuro-humoral
mechanisms of regulation of recovery
processes are not disturbed. The speed
and nature of recovery of various functions
after exercise is one of the criteria
for assessing Functional readiness of athletes,
as well as their level of General and
In the period from 2014 to 2017, on the
basis of the Student scientific society of
the COLLEDGE «SPK» Moskomsporta investigation
using «AMSAT-COVERT» was
performed on 69 graduation projects in
the following areas:
• influence of physical activity of different
directions on the functional state of the
organism of young athletes;
• dynamics of the state of the body systems
of young athletes experiencing
the greatest load in this sport;
• identification of the type of adaptation
reactions and the stage of adaptation
process in students of sports and pedagogical
College;
• determination of emotional stress
degree and general state of the autonomic
nervous system at different periods
of the school year and at different
stages of the training process.
Thus, the hardware-software complex
When working with the hardwaresoftware
complex «AMSAT-COVERT», you
can give the following practical recommendations
for coaches and tutors:
1. Modern testing technologies, which
are based on screening computer methods
for assessing functional state of the body,
can be used to simulate training process
and predict the performance of those involved
in physical education and sports.
2. Performing physical work is accompanied
by an increase in functional activity
of the body and its systems. Therefore,
it is possible to evaluate the performance
of both the whole organism and its individual
systems by studying the dynamics
of indicators of the functional state obtained
using “AMSAT-COVERT” before and
after the load.
3. The use of “AMSAT-COVERT” in the
training process or during the competition
should be carried out according to a
certain scheme, which involves obtaining
at least three measurements to obtain dynamic
indicators of the functional state,
performance and recovery: the first before
the training, the second immediately
after the main its parts and the third 15-
20 minutes after the end of the main part.
4. Selection on the basis of studies of
the two types of health allows you to establish
a direct relationship between the
initial indicators of the functional state of
the body and the type of health.
5. The availability of data on recovery
allows you to make the necessary adjustments
to the planning of training, thus
increasing their effectiveness, achieving
higher athletic performance and, most
COLLEGE FLAG
TRAVELS THE PLANET
Recently, there is a tradition in the school of Olympic reserve No. 1. When athletes or
friends of the school go to other cities and countries, they take the flag of the school
with them and take pictures with it in a new place. This tradition is called «The journey of
the flag of the school». In the first issue-a report on the journey of the flag in Argentina
and the capital of Uruguay Montevideo.
Traveler-Yuri Volkov-a member of the Russian club of motorcyclists «Night wolves».
Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and one of the most
beautiful cities in South America with a population of 2.89
million people. It is located at a distance of 275 km from the
Atlantic ocean in a well-protected Bay of the Bay Of La Plata,
on the right Bank of the Riachuelo river. The name of the city
means «fair winds», or literally translated from Spanish»good
air». Buenos Aires is famous for a large number of cultural
attractions, as well as being the starting point for travel
throughout the country.
STOP –
AFRICAN SAVANNAH
The savannahs of Africa are the Africa of our imagination.
Vast expanses of the earth, extraordinary amazing fauna, the
greatest herds on the planet. And everything here seems to
exist outside the time. From space you can see that Africa is
dominated by deserts and rain forests. Between them there
are fields overgrown with grasses, sparsely standing trees and
shrubs. Wild Savannah is incredibly changeable, fickle.
STOP – AFRICAN ROADS
Roads in Africa. Africa both attracts tourists and frightens
them. After all, this continent, despite the presence of several
more developed countries, is currently a collection of the most
backward and poor States. And roads in Africa are an indicator
of different level of the countries on the continent, as well as a
symbol of the fragmentation of local States.
STOP – BEDOUINS OF ERITREA
Bedouins are people who lead a nomadic lifestyle. They are
engaged in different activities, but never stay in one place for
a long time. They create villages, places for rest and temporary
life. Bedouins-representatives of the Islamic world, and the
knowledge to which state or nationality they belong to
practically does not exist for any of the Bedouins.
STOP –
THE VOLCANO ERTA ALE IN ETHIOPIA
Visiting ERTA Ale volcano was the next point of travel in Ethiopia
after the tribes leading a primitive way of life in the valley of the
OMO river. ERTA Ale volcano is located in the remote afar region
of northeastern Ethiopia in the Danakil desert. According to
some sources, the desert is the hottest place on Earth.
STOP – NORTH POLE
The North pole is the point at which the earth’s imaginary axis
of rotation crosses its surface in the Northern hemisphere.
Since the North pole is located in the Central part of the Arctic
ocean, where depths reach more than 4 thousand meters, yearround
here drift powerful perennial ice.
STOP – LAKE BAIKAL
on the border of the Irkutsk region and the Republic of
Buryatia. The lake is of tectonic origin and is located in an inert
rift depression similar in structure to the Dead sea basin. On
all sides – hills and mountain ranges. The shape of the lake
resembles a huge Crescent moon. The East coast has a flat
ridge. The West coast has a more precipitous and steep surface.
STOP – USHUAIA
Ushuaia is the southernmost city in Argentina (and according
to some sources – on the whole planet). It is often called the
«edge of the world». Ushuaia is located on the coast of the
