COOPERATION WITH FINTECHSSTART IT @K&H — AN INCUBATORPROGRAM LAUNCHEDBY K&H GROUP IN HUNGARYStart it @K&H is the largest corporateincubator program in Hungary— launched and backed by K&HBank — that supports startups in theirdevelopment. Its main goal is to support,strengthen and boost the Hungarianentrepreneurial ecosystem.Unlike other incubators in Hungary, Start it @K&His based on CSR, which means a „no share, noequity” model with free services for participants.During the incubation period, participants arenot involved in the bank’s everyday tasks or thefocus of the Group’s investors or shareholders.The bank supports startups with huge potential(usually at an early stage) for 6-18 months, byproviding help with product development andfinding investors for their plans:• 0-24h available working space in Budapest(280 sqm) and Győr (135 sqm) for selectedstartups so they can work on their ideasanytime;• 40+ mentors (who are experienced in thecorporate world or in the startup ecosystem)can assist in development of the startups;• Throughout a detailed training program,with the help of experts, the participantscan achieve practical skills needed for laterstages of their ventures;• Regular networking events are key to creatingand maintaining business connections withfuture investors and business partners;• The best startups have a chance to gaininternational experience during theincubation period: for example, by visitinginternational hubs of Start it @KBC (Belgium,USA, Czech Republic).To participate for a min. period of 6 months,startups have to apply online and pitch theirideas on a Pitch Day. The jury for this event isalways made up of mentors and experts inentrepreneurship.There is no industry restriction on participatingstartups; the incubator is not solely fintechfocused. Start it @K&H has helped 50 earlystagestartups from 15 different industries sinceOctober 2017, attracting more than 4 millionEUR of external market investment during thisperiod. Until now, determiningthis information regarding card payments was adifficult question.Accounting can be more automatized bysending payments from chosen merchantsdirectly to the accounting cost centers.Also, security and overall spending control canbe improved. GPS information helps with frauddetection such as when an employee is on abusiness trip in a certain location, but paymentsare happening somewhere else. A set of rulescan be created so the employee card can onlybe used at certain locations, at a particularmerchant or for a specific category.Ivan Dovica, DateioThe ProblemOne of the main pillars which banking is based onis payments. It is surprising how such a key featureis being neglected in many ways, especially in the21st century. Some of the fintech buzzwords are“big data”, “data analytics”, “business intelligence”,“AI”, etc., and yet banks are still not able to tell theirclients trivial information such as where exactlywe made a payment in terms of the correct brandname, location, etc.. How can we expect themto deliver any extra value out of the paymentinformation?On one side, the bank clients must still bedecoding imprecise payment strings in theirpayment history and face the banking interfaceaccounting system from the ’90s.
